I have avoided VATSIM since I was chastised mercilessly for being on the wrong freq back in 2004. This brings the life back into the sim that I really missed. Thank you guys so much for creating this. For me, it’s hobby-changing.
@redwatch1100 I'm sorry you had a bad experience. I've also flown on the VATSIM network and have had my share of professional flights and embarrassing moments 😅. VATSIM can be really great, but I understand the want for more professionalism. Maybe PilotEdge would be more your speed. It's not free, but the price of a monthly membership tends to keep many of the immature away. Those that stay, generally stay because they're invested in a good experience.
I can appreciate that, and that's just from watching and not even participating. So I'm very about that BeyondATC allows me to have believable ATC without the abuse. BeyondATC communication is still rough, to the point that I'm not sure it's AI-based, but that perhaps a training matter. Deviate a bit from the correct langauge or ask for clearance after having recieved it once and ATC won't understand. Forces you to use correct phraseology, I suppose 🙂
The obvious amount of commitment and attention to detail on this program is astonishing. Having this in the background is so unbelievably immersive for simmers like me who want a ‘jump in’ experience over VATSIM. Thanks to you all and best regards from the UK
As great as the ATC part of BeyondATC is, the traffic injector is what I am most excited about. Even Asobo can't handle AI aircraft and they have a new sim coming that most likely will not address their problems with AI traffic. Kudos to the BeyondATC team. This is monumental!!
Awesome! It seems every time I open up BATC there is an update. Thank you for all of the continuous effort put into this program. Well worth the money for me.
This video made me upgrade to the supporters package. Not just because of the really awesome features (especially traffic injection) that I am burning to use, but also because I love how the development of BATC involves the intended end users. The collision detection tool is also really cool. This is what you get when you mix highly skilled software developers with a love of aviation.
Thank you for the amazing hard work Scott and the whole team. Something we thought would not be possible, is in fact possible! It was very cool to meet you in person at Expo and I was blown away with the traffic injection actually following instructions and doing the procedures. Can't wait to give my feedback and report bugs when out on the experimental branch. Keep up the great work and I can't wait for the next feature!
I was always afraid to jump into VATSIM ( I said to myself it's ok but it's too much for me ) and when I heard about BeyondATC I said to myself YEAH!!! this is it!!! and I bought it. I love this software the level of immersion is beyond any imagination!!!!! 😍😍👍👍👍👍
W..o...w... just an amazing piece of software guys. What you guys have made for a reasonable price is just amazing!! I LOVE LOVE LOVE ❤ beyond ATC. Within the first flight my confidence went from 0 to 100 with the help of BATC. Just so amazing to be able to use my voice for ATC. I did not realize how much I was missing until i started using it. Now it really feels like I'm actually in that environment and actually flying. I do GA flying and this is amazing for training/confidence builder for when i ever get to real flying lol. I'm starting to write down stuff less and less 😁. Thank you again for making this!!! Cant wait for the updates!!
Looking great, I'm excited for the release of the traffic injection. Thanx for this update, it has been highly anticipated and it is good to know it will be coming soon. I was wondering when we could expect to see the traffic injection, great to hear it will be soon. You guys at BeyondATC really had a huge task ahead of you and all things considered you have done a great job! Looking forward to the next evolution of BATC. Cheers!
That was a pilot initiating a request to taxi. There’s no standard phraseology bible for pilots like there is for controllers. So while it might have been a bit of a strange way for a pilot at a major airport to request taxi, it wasn’t incorrect, per se.
As a real life pilot i never heard someone using this phrase, at least on european airports. Maybe they will tweak it, so it's not used that often and repetitive. ;-)
@@janosch555again, like I said, strange for a part 121 pilot at a major airport. Would not be unheard of to hear “taxiing to the active” from a GA pilot at a GA airport, or even “request the active” from a GA pilot on Unicom arriving at a GA airport with a quiet pattern and calm winds. Pilot comms are not regulated like ATC comms.
@stevenspicer14 where is the pilot going to taxi to? The inactive? If taxiing to parking, they say parking, or gate and even then that is inferred. No where does it say to use the word active. In fact they discourage it. What information does it convey? On uncontrolled fields there is no active. In a controlled field the ATC know which runway to send you to and your strip says if you are departing or arriving. It is amateurish at best.
Amazing work! Just a few things that sound weird to me (being french i just know the french airspace and european ATC methods): FL 180 as a climbing/descending clearance seems too high/not low enough for the departure/approach phase in France, particularly in LFPG. Paris Center handles traffic above FL 80 in this sector i would say and btw 125.7 is a FIC frequency (only for VFR traffic). Moreover, giving all descent instructions at the same FL would not be appropriate. Initially we try to space by 1000 feet and give lower once speeds are compatible for 5 NM longitudinal separation (that minimum can be 3NM in big airports like LFPG). But still, your work is really astounding!
This is early access folks. 30 dollars. Do any of you realize what goes on in the backgroud to develope this? For the average flight simmer it is very immersive already. For you hot shot "pilots" out there give it a rest already. Go over to vatsim and let them bring you back down to earth. Then come back and enjoy what is being developed here right before you.
Vatsim doesnt have 24/7 globals coverage. It also has 9 year old virtual pilots flying American Airlines A380 from Mogadishu to Buenos Aires. 🤦♂️ Realism 😂
Hi! What an amazing addition to the immersion factor to the sim. I would just like to point out and yes I realize this might complicate things a bit but, in Quebec at Montreal, Aircraft can speak both English (without french accent) and Canadian French to ATC. I believe the preference is noted on the initial Clearance Delivery and is continued throughout ground, tower and departure.
Amazing guys well done!! Just a small input. We tend to receive partial taxi instructions for exxample. Taxi A A3 hold short Q. Then at Q we get get further instructions. It is very rare at a busy airport to receive a taxi clearance to the runway hold. Additionally, any such clearance would end in a hold short runway. For example. Cleared taxi RW 24L via L J P1 hold short RW 34C
Thank you very much for making this fantastic program - it's really unbelievable how much effort you guys putting into this and I can't say enough how happy I am that you're making it even bigger!!! Keep up the good work! Greetings from Austria! 🤩👍🤘
Just want to say that yoy guys are providing such an amazing level of immersion to this amazing sim that we all love. I paid for the early access and I have been pleasantly surprised and I can't wait for the future development. Traffic injection is going to be a game changer!
Once this releases, it would be interesting to see someone do a comparison with this, AIGTC, and FSHUD and the pros and cons of each cause all these programs handle plane traffic themselves outside of the simulator
Very great news ! that what i was waiting for to start using my premium voice ! great Job BATC TEAM you did awesome improvements on the French accent who is crurrently terrible for my french ears, but i think its pretty cool in this preview footage ! Best regards
If you've ever experienced flight simulation before MSFS 2020, you'll understand the unparalleled level of realism and sophistication that this software offers. Nothing released prior to this comes close, and the pricing is exceptionally reasonable.
Game changer for sure I am on my 17th BATC flight and every flight gets better and better. This will add to the realism and really add to the realism for my flights. Cannot wait for this feature something about a home cockpit sim and BATC a win win :) Looking forward to be sequenced out of the ramp to the runways with all of the other traffic.
Excellent. I am excited for the traffic. It is a work in progress but I have completely enjoyed BATC. I bought it immediately. Any issues I have had are minor and are known. Problems with BATC for me are rare. Even without traffic, I stick with BATC but it is a little lonely. 😃If you answered this, I missed it. When completed will you have correct liveries like FSLTL? Also, a neat feature in FSLTL is the code line that allows Just Flight liveries to be used for those of us with Just Flight, sitting there doing nothing. Thanks, Captain.
Amazing progress. The one main huge thing that has always been missing from AI ATC are speeds especially on approach. Probably because there is no actual spacing for arriving traffic. The day we have AI atc say descend 3000 reduce speed to 180. Or hold 160 until 5 miles. That will be incredible.
I agree with some others here- the vectoring does need some work. And not following instructions or being off altitude as well. But i look forward to all that's to come 👍
Watching development of this product with great interest. I'm holding off purchasing until control of VFR traffic is implemented. In addition to some of the issues mentioned in the comments, i would like to add one. The clearance to "Face North" (or other cardinal directions) on pushback is incorrect, at least in the US. The proper phraseology is "Tail South (or appropriate direction). You sometimes hear variations in pushback instructions such as "pushback approved for Runway ***" or "cleared to push spot **" or simply "cleared to push" where there's only one obvious way to pushback (such as back into a corner of a ramp). In 35 years of airline flying, I've never heard a controller say FACE *** on pushback. Other than this and other issues mentioned here in the comments, this product looks very promising!
By the time you are here, I'm a PPL in Canada so not used to IFR phraseology but in BATC, frequencies are said 123 decimal 4 in Canadian Airspace while it is said 123 point 4 over US airspace. Is that true in real life?
This RIGHT HERE is why I supported BeyondATC prior to this being ready.... THIS IS SO EXCITING FOR ME, but sadly I couldn't invest in Beta Testing Price so have a longer wait 😭..... THIS IS GOING TO MAKE MSFS2020 AMAZING....
Bought BATC some time ago although I'm not in airliners. I do flightsim for GA and bushflight. So I can't wait for the VFR option. This is so immersive. If I see where this is going this will be so real. LOVE IT and CAN'T hardly wait :)
Looking forward to have this! Not so much the very rapid depletion of premium voice characters though. 😂 I do notice the planes starting their takeoff right at the beginning of the tower communicating their clearance. Maybe a delay is better to give the tower a chance to say "cleared for takeoff", or have the planes takeoff during the acknowledgment message instead?
Really really impressed. One little detail that would make the taxi behavior perfect is the line up. The turns aren‘t tight enough. In real life pilots try to use maximum front wheel steering in order to not waste any runway.
I think that's a limitation if you have the AI follow the underlying nodes of the groundlayout. So they follow the taxi line onto the runway even though in real life you only do that when you taxi off the runway and not onto it.
This looks very promising. I noticed one procedural oddity though. In almost all cases, you would depart on the inboard runway (IE. the runway closest to the terminal) and land on the outboards. This prevents ground/tower from having to do live runway crossings in the departure queue, and there is generally more room to cross the landing traffic between departures.
I have a custom airport that I've made for MSFS 2020, and I hope Beyond ATC will work to inject traffic and bring life to both the sim and my custom airport. I visioned my custom airport bustling with traffic and being as busy as Sea-Tac, and the other airports in this video. Static aircraft makes my airport look dead, and boring with planes not going anywhere. (Just like how the airports looked in real-life when COVID first hit) I did not make my airport just to see aircraft sitting around. Hopefully Beyond ATC's traffic injection will work with custom addon airports like mine.
That’s Amazing but there are 2 two points that triggers me. 1. When Atc give an command the planes following the command direct. The most of the time in RL the Pilots wait for the readback of the Pilot monitoring. 2. At Minute 14.50 the Tower give an Plane a landing clearance but an Plane was on the runway. This needs to be changed. Sorry for my bad English xD But Beyond Atc is such an great Project it is amazing. I hope you develop it for more great updates.
Tell that one about the landing clearance to the U.S. Controllers. They do this kind of stuff IRL all the time. And not as an error, it's operational procedure to do so. They will say stuff like "No 4. Cleared to land", whereas in EASA space you will definately not get cleared to land until the Runway is empty. I got clearances to land as late as 150ft AGL on Final.
As best I see it, aircraft actually begin to move coincident with the start of an ATC instruction. There needs to be a delay until a few seconds at last after readback finished.
I like that this thought of adding that weird FAA phraseology where the Tower gives you the "RNAV to X" start instruction upon take-off. I find this one totally superflous, because it is just the first fix on the SID you are cleared anyway, so there is no need to repeat it. But I have heard U.S. tower controllers do exactly that, so I'm glad that this idiosyncracy is in there.
So one thing im wondering. Are there any plans to implement a way to get PDC's? hopefully some kind of API allowing aircraft devs to request one through their FMC's.
Great external view sounds! Will we be able to experience that realistic, bassy rumble of another airplane taking off in front of us when holding short of a runway?
Yes!!! This day is still coming closer and closer. So glad i I purchased the supporters edition. How dit you guys pulled this off? Congratulations! Little typo LFBO (Toulouse) has to be LFPG. Question regarding the models, Is it possible to use AIG and FSLTL traffic together? The FSLTL sounds are great but way too loud. Not only with BATC, but also with their own injector and the RealTraffic addon.
This looks amazing and something I've been hoping for in a 3rd party product since FS 2004! I know this is just a demo video of a product not even in alpha yet, but two things stood out to me to nitpick: 1) There should be at least SOME pause between transmissions especially between planes. Even at really busy airports there's often a tiny bit of downtime to allow pilots (you) to get something in before ATC gives clearances, otherwise it's impossible to say anything. 2) It looks like planes are responding to commands right when the controller starts issuing them. Ex: 15:02, the Alaska starts spooling up their engines for takeoff the MOMENT the controller comes "on radio" to talk to the plane, before even identifying them. IRL they would start doing that after the controller is finished talking completely, though sometimes after key phrases are completely said. Ex: "Southwest 423, winds 240@6, runway 05L, cleared for takeoff, left turn 20 degrees after takeoff, caution wake turbulence" might have the crew spooling up their engines AFTER "cleared for takeoff" is said. Overall fantastic work so far and can't wait to use it!
This looks very promising. Once this is all working properly it will be the "game changer" that brings the whole experience alive, finally. I do have a some small gripes though. 1) The camera work in this video is terrible. It made me dizzy. For goodness sake, just pick a spot to "spot" from and stay there for a bit. And zoom in more so we can actually see the aircraft bigger than tiny dots in the distance. I would love to see a video sitting at the threshold of Heathrow 27L, watching the line of 3 or 4 planes on final approach a la "Big Jet TV" (or similar non-controversial TH-cam channels. haha). 2) I guess this is a sim limitation, but why do the planes suddenly jump up and down and shudder as they go down the runway? I know it does this with the default ATC too, but is there a way to smooth this out? I was hoping BATC would be able to overcome this somehow. 3) The accents seem pretty believable but the intonation is still very robotic sounding. I understand this is probably a limitation of the current state of AI voices, but how far away do you think we are from getting realistic sounding voices that aren't super expensive? A couple of years maybe? 4) Some of the terminology seems weird. We don't use TRACON in Europe, and I'm also fairly sure we don't say "taxi to the active" but I could be wrong there. None of these are deal breakers, and I'm super excited for this, but I do think it needs a bit more refinement. Keep up the good work!
The issue with #2 is as I understand it BATC is actually "cheating" a bit here by NOT letting the sim updater the airplanes, but instead BATC itself is injecting the transform of every aircraft on every tick. These means the planes don't actually "fly in the sim, they are just moved and rotated each frame by BATC. This allows them full control over the planes, and is how they manage to keep the framerate so high with so many airplanes. The downside is the onus is all on them to recreate accurate movement of the airplanes and this will probably be something that is infinitely tweaked over time to get better movement.
Best money I've spent regarding msfs ❤ one issue though is the same as FSLTL, the engine sounds always sound as if the aircraft is right next to you, even when you're far away.
Excellent, good to see such progress. Will it be possible to control the volume of traffic? Not sound, the quantity lol. Glad I purchased the supporters pack. Looking forward to this.
I’ve been using P2ATC before BATC was released. It was good, but really missed that the ATC controlled the AI traffic. Landing and take-offs in opposite direction and all that mess. Really killed the immersion. Tried FSHud, but my FPS went down the drain. Recently, I bought BATC, and so far I’ve really enjoyed it. It’s not perfect, but a really good start I must say. Once they control the AI traffic I will be in heaven!😀
Great work guys! This looks amazing already. My question would be though…this is all premium voices right? So I guess this heavily drains my credit balance right?
I'm currently using FBWs injector with FSTL and FS Traffic models, and they are at the mercy of default ATC. I'm looking forward to this much needed leap forward. Where will your injected models come from? I bought the $59.99 developer support version on day one and have already bought a tipoff for premium voices. It's a pleasure to fly with your level or realism!
Please don't loose the focus on the single atc instructions. There are still a lot of drawbacks e.g. no speed instructions, no rnav or vor instructions and visuals during bad weather. Anyways a super job and a spectacular program and progress
Great job! My system runs with a GTX1070 card. Fairly old, but does well. I run MSFS at high end settings. No traffic, and depending on which airport I'm departing from, I get a solid 30-35 FPS. What can I expect with your traffic injection? Ball park guess. Thanks for your hard work.
Can I ask, when you ask for pushback, taxi, take off or landing, does the game fit you into the pattern of play ? Like would a plane taxi onto a runway with you on approach?

By the time you are here, I'm a PPL in Canada so not used to IFR phraseology but in BATC, frequencies are said 123 decimal 4 in Canadian Airspace while it is said 123 point 4 over US airspace. Is that true in real life?
In Mexico they said Face west etc .
That was absolutely amazing! Looking forward to having the software.
I'm quite excited to see this continue to evolve. The descents that BATC gives me are hit and miss, but the immersion is good usually.
Amazing product! These are wonderful times for the flight simulation! 😊😊😉
Bought BATC some time ago although I'm not in airliners. I do flightsim for GA and bushflight. So I can't wait for the VFR option. This is so immersive. If I see where this is going this will be so real. LOVE IT and CAN'T hardly wait :)
Me still waiting for VFR too.
Looking forward to have this!
Not so much the very rapid depletion of premium voice characters though. 😂
I do notice the planes starting their takeoff right at the beginning of the tower communicating their clearance.
Maybe a delay is better to give the tower a chance to say "cleared for takeoff", or have the planes takeoff during the acknowledgment message instead?
Very nice! If I may the second airport does not look like LFBO (Toulouse), but is definitely LFPG (Paris CDG).
I realized my error a bit too late - it's absolutely LFPG; apologies for the confusion.
This is beyond AWESOME!!! ❤
Great job guys! Expecting to test this!
Simply amazing!
Sorry for my bad English xD
But Beyond Atc is such an great Project it is amazing.
Looking Great! Can't wait.
Great external view sounds! Will we be able to experience that realistic, bassy rumble of another airplane taking off in front of us when holding short of a runway?
This is the update I've been waiting for. Now, does the AI say the famous "we have a number for you to copy down for possible pilot deviation"?
Loving the constant updates, but this is a BIG one! So excited for this! Sorry if I missed it. Is there a release date?
Looks and sounds promising, can't wait to test and give feedback💪👍, define pretty soon please...😅😂
I Think it's time for Asobo / Microsoft to acquire BATC and implement it in FS2024!
Amazing!
Hey! I was SEA tower!😂❤❤
This looks amazing and something I've been hoping for in a 3rd party product since FS 2004! I know this is just a demo video of a product not even in alpha yet, but two things stood out to me to nitpick:
1) There should be at least SOME pause between transmissions especially between planes.
AWESOME ! 👏
Great development, can't wait for it! Traffic is moving very fast, is it because of the demo? Landing plane was jumping on the runway, Asobo thing?
Finaly! Good one ❤🎉
I was going to gripe about this but you've said it all. 😁😁😁
@@JohnVanderbeckthat would explain why they are not hooked up to jetways or any ground equipment, I guess.
Best money I've spent regarding msfs ❤ one issue though is the same as FSLTL, the engine sounds always sound as if the aircraft is right next to you, even when you're far away.
That's because that's a MS sound engine issue, not much we can do about that unfortunately.
@@beyondatc ah, shame. Well at least you've done everything right! 💯💯 Love the product!
Great work 👍
Excellent, good to see such progress. Will it be possible to control the volume of traffic? Not sound, the quantity lol. Glad I purchased the supporters pack. Looking forward to this.
I believe that's what the slider in the traffic options that's inop is for.
You can use basic voices for other traffic and premium for comms with you.
Happy to test if you are looking for testers :)
You will if you have the supporter's pack version of BATC.
@@laurentsamson8927 awesome! Yes I heard that in the video
I am so excited to try this out!!!
Would love to see how the approach gets handled. Especially around speed management for spacing.
Hmmm... it's not great now, without traffic.
Haven't seen any demo of that in this video
Cant wait for the traffic injection to go live
Please don't loose the focus on the single atc instructions. There are still a lot of drawbacks e.g. no speed instructions, no rnav or vor instructions and visuals during bad weather. Anyways a super job and a spectacular program and progress
Great job! My system runs with a GTX1070 card. Fairly old, but does well. I run MSFS at high end settings. No traffic, and depending on which airport I'm departing from, I get a solid 30-35 FPS. What can I expect with your traffic injection? Ball park guess. Thanks for your hard work.
can you provide the options for more realistic timings? For example the engine start and flight control checks to at least make it 2-3 min etc.
Can I ask, when you ask for pushback, taxi, take off or landing, does the game fit you into the pattern of play ? Like would a plane taxi onto a runway with you on approach?
nice, cant wait, i have noticed that the landings and takeoffs have been quite choppy, will that be more focused on later in the product?
Soooo good!!! @BeyondATC, will the AI a/c be able to connect to the jetways for a service turnaround at all too?
Looks great! 🤩 Which models will you be using? FSLTL, FS Traffic or own models?
They did their own but the guy from fsltl js assisting them.
You need to install one or more of FSLTL, AIG or FS Traffic.
@@LemonToGo BATC has no own models. It uses any models you have installed.
