Yes, I discovered this several weeks ago, works great. Though the image quality is like 80-90 percent of the original - a bit fuzzy, still very usable, the important thing is I don't notice any lag in controls
For audio to come out of the laptop you just need to change settings in Windows. I was playing like this in Hungary while my ps4 was in London. Had zero issues.

This is awesome. I did something similar with a friend in Brazil (me in the US) had her connect to my ps4 using Parsec and a small software called PS4macro so she could try and play some ps4 games since she didn't have a PS4
Hopefully for PS5 they can get it to connect in a couple of seconds and have low enough latency that you can use the controllers wirelessly, it is 2019 after all so I’m not going back to wired input.
pc normally has all the games for both xbox and ps platforms with no paying for multiplayer. A good reason to download the ps4 remote play is because of games that are exclusive to those platforms. Like spiderman is exclusive to ps4, and it's not a game you can buy for pc.
EOM not at all, with my PS4 connected to Ethernet I can stream it to my Mac at 1080p with very few frame rate drops. It doesn’t work great outside of the house unless you drop the resolution tho.
Marc, when the controller is plugged in, try going to the bottom right of the computer to select a different audio device by clicking on the speaker icon, it should give you an arrow to click above the volume slider, after you click the arrow, it should say two options, the controller and the computer speakers.
You can change the audio to your speakers. Your audio is set to your PS4 controller when it is plugged in. Change your audio output in the lower right corner. Click on the audio icon and then change the output.
You 'register' your Vita with your home PS4 and you can use it to remotely 'wake up' the PS4. It effectively mirrors your PS4 screen from wherever it is. The Vita's crappy Wi-Fi connection limits it in my experience but I've been able to play a few games pretty smoothly around my own house at least :)
Also if you use a Sony Xperia phone, you can use that with touch screen controls or a PS4 controller. I'd imagine you'd be able to Chromecast it to a TV as well. Not to mention they come with cool conveniences like wireless charging and water resisting so you can play in the shower.

The software is more like a streaming platform, ps4 > server > laptop, instead of ps4 > router > laptop, so uses internet, slow internet = slow/lag stream.
In my personal experience (daily for 4yrs from various work sites) slow network usually just results in a more compressed video stream. It can get ugly, but stays fairly responsive.
The PS4 controller has an audio device that the computer will switch to when you plug it in. Open your sound settings and change it back to your speakers to have the sound come out of it.
You can use the speakers, if you go down to your audio settings, and click on the currently selected audio device (should be ps4 controller) and change it to your default
Don’t both devices have to connect to the same network in order for remote play to work??? Because I’m connected to a different network and it’s not working
Yeah, I stream Xbox One to a Windows laptop while in bed and it only works over a local network. Then again, if you are going anywhere where there's a tv, why not just take your console with you? Also due to Play Anywhere, you can tote along a Windows handheld or tablet for native play on Xbox games. Cool feature nonetheless but occasional lag is present, atleast on Xbox to Windows 10. I've never tried PS4 remote play.
Click on the volume icon in your system tray and you can change the audio output device back to your pc speakers. Windows switched your audio device settings when you plugged in your dual shock controller. Another note... you can play wirelessly with your dual shock 4 if you use the official dual shock 4 wireless adapter for pc.
Sounds incredible? Cmon felt like a paid propaganda here, i have been using the ps4 controller as audio card on my pc the max quality is 32khz the audio is VERY POOR. Almost kitchen radio quality.
the reason the audio does that is because the controller is a USB device, if you go to your audio devices and set your laptop's speakers to default audio will go back through there.
