Laf is making $2.325 this year and is an RFA after the season…..no reason to rush a contract extension now for either side.
Trouba needs to find a new team.
We waited on Laf to hit his stride he should work with Rangers on a good contract for both.
Zac Jones played just fine while Trouba was injured
But WHO(?) is in Drury's eyes essential to the team and who is he willing to part with? Who does he want to bring in and who will we actually end up with? How much of the team can he change before it's a different team and who knows maybe we take a step or two back? Questions, questions starting to get nervous. Drury signed Goodrow to that steep contract then waived his ass, Gorton signed Trouba to THAT massive contract and Drury stands up for him? I don't think he's really going to be traded I think other guys we're not thinking about are on the trade block. Tick,tick, tick the clock is ticking.

Lets get out from under this contract
Trouba is a great player if we were paying him 4 mill... fans are turning on him because he has become a dirty and mediocre defenceman with an 8 mill price tag... not to mention, we still have multiple years left on that contract, and he will most likely get worse as a defenseman towards the end of it. I've liked the guy over the years, but we should ride the high that he has led a team to 2 conference finals and trade him while he still has a bit of value.
