The Devils added grit, defense, and goaltending all without losing any of their core players plus Hamilton will be back. On paper the Devils have one of the best depth rosters in the league, hopefully it translates to the ice.
TotalOutsider looking in, but to me the Devils added some grit on the back end and shored up their goaltending. Aren't those Hallmaks of a Jersey team?
BMW line was without a doubt one of the best fourth lines in the NHL in 22-23. having a soft fourth line is a bigger problem than it may seem like, so i while i absolutely love the changes defensively, beefing up the fourth line was an amazing move and tatar in a second-third line spot only helps our offense.
•Markstrom: Ranked#️⃣1️⃣ Against High Danger Shots '24 •Potter: Tied for 20th in Hits Per Game in '24 & FAST! •Dillon: ALWAYS Top 20 in Hits Per Game & #️⃣3️⃣ Most NHL Fights last yr. w/ 7 Fights🤜👊 •Pesce: Big time upgrade over Marino as Pesce is actually a true Defensive Dman where Marino had an outlier season in an outlier NJ season. •Noesen: is at the very least a right shot lol, but for a real a heck of a right 1Timer good enough to play on PP1/2 while greatly improving the Bottom6. •MacDermid: a goon who was the 1st player I ever heard refuse a team a #. Wouldn't give Noesen his #23 back & like a child said my dad played as #23... •Tatar: Ranked#️⃣1️⃣ in +/- his last yr. w/ NJ. +/- is not the best individual stat, yet notable if Ranked #️⃣1️⃣ -Tatar played w/Nico almost all season, it's clear there's chemistry there & w/Tuna on the ice more Goals are scored FOR than AGAINST💯
Don't forget about John Kovacevic acquired from Montreal. He will get some playing time because he's actually a pretty good defenseman, and he may fill in when Luke or Nemec need a rest or if Siegenthaler can't return to the form of '22-'23. From the little I've seen of him, he reminds me of a more physical Kevin Bahl, but more responsible with the puck. Perfect depth piece.
More depth and physicality is exactly what the Devils needed. If Jack can stop giving the puck away, I think the devils are poised for a playoff run but not quite cup contenders yet.
No. The way it was explained is confusing. Bahl led NJ d-corp in hits. Smith, I believe was #2. Kristy said now with the losses of Bahl and Smith...Siegs is guy who led the team in hits. Siegenthaler certainly did NOT lead the Dcorp in hits. This is what happens when you have ditzy ladies trying to explain mens professional sports to men.
I believe cups are built from the net out and that is exactly what they did this off season and their top 6 can already score. The devils will be dangerous!!

Yes hundred percent. Let’s go devils!
I think MacDermid should get more ice time Did a good job against Rempe

As much as I rip on Siegs, I never would've guessed he had the most hits among our D-men by such a wide margin. I'm sorry Jonas Siegenthaler.

Devils need one additional piece, a good solid wing...which i think they will get....
Tatar is the placeholder in the top 6… I think they make a move before the deadline
Ill trade you Marco Kasper and or J.Berggren for Nico strait up right now

@@18laxX😂😂😂Tatar is barely an NHL bottom 6 at this point
Terrible goaltending and losing Dougie early sunk them last season, if both of those things change they're a sure playoff team
Don’t underestimate losing McLeod….. that’s really when things started falling apart last season…..
@@AJ72281 Mcleod was really great last year but I think Cotter and Noeson can replace him.
@@EspecialllySpecial I think they will do fine, but nobody could touch McLeod in the face-off circle.
@@AJ72281 Yup he was great. Nico was also top 20 though and Haula is decent as well. But im gonna miss Mcleod
@AJ72281 McLeod is a sex offender but he wins faceoffs so......😂😂😂😂😂
Dexter Henry has to do some kind of prep for these interviews and get pronunciations right on players like Pesce and Noesen.
Kristy looks like an NPC
im sure you do too
Anyone who says "someone looks like an NPC" is obviously, an NPC themselves 🤡
