Eiserman @4 is laughable. Sharks won’t take another forward @ 14. The ducks have said they want a top 6 forward and middle 6 forward in the draft, not gonna draft levshunov, most likely Demidov. Buium and Parehk both ahead of Sam D? Could happen but seems unlikely.
Love you hockey guy but the reason Connelly has so much skill but is projected so low is the same reason Chicago can never pick him. Off ice issues. Very well done article a few months ago in The Atheletic detailing the player and issues.
Would be very happy with Eiserman at 14. He has said at the combine he needs to work on his 2-way game and improve his play away from the puck, so he knows where his shortcomings are. I'd also mention that he is best friends with Celebrini and they played together and roomed together at Shattuck. He is headed to BU next season and Pandolfo has him penciled in at center. The USNTDP pretty much encourages these players to be fully offensive and not really focus much on the defensive aspect of the game, so I'm not very worried about him improving in that area. Sennecke would be a great pick for the Sharks at 14 as well if he's available.
Silayev going to Montreal is truly asinine Doesn’t fit what the team is looking for at all Not because he’s a defender because he’s another shut down defender… we took Reinbacher last year we’re not taking a left handed Reinbacher (we didn’t even want a right handed Reinbacher)
@@jay7T6 I believe he’s since backtracked on that, if they truly feel like a defenceman is the best player available if the forward they want is not available, they’ll take the defenceman. But that begs the question who would they consider the best player availabile, & i guarantee that it’s not Silayev
Now that the Bruins got their draft pick back, I’m curious who they’ll take. I’m personally a fan of Dean Letourneau, I think his physicality and scoring ability will greatly help us, but he may be a bit risky given the fact that his projections vary so much. I’ve heard anywhere from 32nd to 87th. If they’re not willing to take a risk like that, I’d love for us to draft either Cole Beaudoin or Lucas Pettersson if any of these guys are here
Silayev is a lefty and the habs have like 6 left D that could play it’s next to impossible that they take him unless they trade one of their top Left D like ghule
I would not like that for the Sens. In this scenario Id rather Iginla or Dickinson at 7th and Ej Emery or Elick at 25, But Id also really want Parekh at 7 but in this scenario he's gone.
At this point I don’t see a combination of Zeev being at the 10th spot and the Devils having their first round pick happening. But it would be cool to have him. He’s very talented and the Devils need to Jewishmax.
Tough to see the Flyers picking another RW when they're extremely deep at that position. If that's how the board falls 1-11, they need to go Cole Eiserman.
I think everything in this mock draft makes a lot of sense with the exception of Montréal drafting Silayev at #5. The reason is that Montréal has an oversupply of left-handed defensmen already. Good job buddy !!
Agree with the Hawks picking a forward (they have enough D prospects with Korchinski and Vlasic already starting, and Del Mastro and Rinzel waiting in the wings), but I'm not sure it will be Demidov.
Chicago won’t be touching Connelly even with a 100 foot pole… uhhh look into the controversy about him and you’ll see why he is lower than his skill would put him in the draft
If MTL picks another defenseman in the first round with either picks that sends the message to not even bother watching next season … not only they are still clearly rebuilding, but they keep adding to the giant defensemen logjam, while we have glaring holes upfront and the goaltending is patched with duck tape temporarily at best. Outside of Roy, nobody is knocking at the NHL’s door upfront on a team with potentially Gallagher or Anderson on the 2nd line while everyone is healthy.
monty/primeau are stopgaps until fowler is ready. roy need to be given first shot at the L2 spot. but hughes is probably trying to make a deal for a young top 6 guy. i'd stay away from necas and zegras, and target a guy like kent johnson, or jake neighbours, with the 26 and some other stuff going the other way. would also consider dealing the 2nd for kakko. i know people say he's a bust, but even if the offense never comes, he'd be a solid 3rd line guy.
I like Zegras’s contract but he has to play and stay healthy for anyone to risk it. Johnson, Neighboors and Kakko are good options, especially Kakko since the Rangers are about to give up on him so his trade cost is relatively low. Just my 2cents … MTL has to aim way higher, first line material, by todays NHL standards, not he’s technically one of our best so he makes our first line kind of guy. That will push down talent throughout the lineup, improving every single lines.
Kiviharju was one of the top prospects at some point, but he suffered a serious knee injury (dislocated knee cap etc) so may never reach that potential.
As a wild fan I would want Eiserman cause I think the team line up of .Kaprizov, Rossi, Khusnodinov .Boldy JEE Eiserman .Hartman Yurov Zuccarello .Foligno Stramel Ohgren .Faber, Brodin .Theodore/Cychrun?, Middleton .Bogosian, Lambos Wallstedt Would go crazy and would cut the need to get a elite 6th man that I think JEE and Boldy needs, like Fiala with that line was the best and if we could get that with a more developed Boldy and JEE we have 2 dangerous top lines that would make a crazy power play line up and would save us money to get a elite defenseman like Theodore or Chychrun.
@@Blaize24 If Eiserman falls that low though, that would be considered a big swing though, no? Risk for not being good enough but high ceiling due to goal scoring capabilities?
@@StickinAroundHockey I guess it's a swing...I'm just making the conservative choice. From what I'm hearing he doesn't have the right attitude to fit in with what SY looks for, so I still don't think he'd do it. But I'm not him and I don't know if it's only rumors anyway.
Washington either needs to move up and take Yakemchuk as a long term replacement for Carlson or if they're going with a forward they need Eiserman or Connelly. I can't see Washington staying at 17 and passing on Connelly- the talent is too high for that pick and they need it more than most teams in that part of the draft. Bottom line is they need a 1C and a 1RHD but if they can't get that, then they need a scoring winger to play with Leonard. Jiricek might turn into a #4D but Washington is more likely to package other picks and grab a late first for that rather than the 17th. I just think his ceiling is too low for Washington. They got burned on the Lucas Johansen draft pick so I doubt they go with another low ceiling pick. But if you look at their recent picks of Lapierre and Miroshnichenko they've taken the high talent high risk player with these later picks. I suspect they'll do the same if Connelly is there.
I think they might get Catton. I would not be surprised to see Iginla, Buium, Dickinson, and Parekh all get taken in the top 9, letting Catton slide to 10th.
Hearing that criticism of Eiserman makes me want the Flyers to take him so much more. They’ve needed an outrageously selfish player who can score goals for a really long time. He is exactly what the flyers power play needs.
6:15 From what I've seen from him, I feel like Chara is a better description of his set of skill and abilities as well as his ceiling. As a remainder, I've only seen one game and a few highlights from him. On the other hand, guys like Pierre Lebrun who's a really good source for habs intel seems to talk about 2 names: Lindstrom and Demidov. So that would make sense that if both of them are gone, they opt for some kind of a sure shot like Silayev is projected to be.
@thehockeyguy I agree with the Sharks #14 pick, especially because Cole Eiserman and Celebrini played together at Shattuck, will play together at BU if Celebrini stays And the two apparent remain good friends to this day.
2023 thg mock draft has Will Smith to San Jose, Michkov to Montreal and Reibacher to MTL : fans from MTL go YAAAYYY Shannon is a pro.... 2024 thg mock draft has Silayev to MTL, Demidov to Chicago and Lindstrom to Columbus : fans from MTL go Shannon is the worst.... Guys, unless we watched the prospects play we don't know who is good or not, Shannon's take is a great way to open your mind to other prospects. Anyhow, thanks Shannon for your take, it's very different that what we get fed daily from our media! G.
Doesn't make sense for a mock draft, but I really think both New Jersey and Buffalo trade their pick for immediate help on their roster. They are both in win-now mode and are already stacked with young players and prospects.
Solberg is such an interesting case as he is showing he can likely step into an NHL role in maybe another year, which is pretty quick for a defenseman. As a Sharks fan, I'm also curious what they do at 14 given likely the big D names will likely be gone. And Solberg may not drop to 33. So I honestly wonder if they just take a swing to begin getting some higher end stock in their defensive pipeline. Obviously we need a #1 and that's likely not Solberg - but adding a possible solid #2 wouldn't be a bad move either. Especially as our forward pipeline seems to be outpacing the other areas of the roster. On the other hand - Eiserman is a very solid choice, gives you more pop in the top-6 most likely along with Smith / Celebrini / Eklund and possibly a Musty/Haltunnen.
Totally agree on the Blues pick, mostly because he’s been playing in Sweden, and since Steen started working for the team, the Blues decided they wanted all the Swedes in the draft
Yea it’s makes to much since to pick nygaard if he is available. One of the most NHL ready guys that could be available at 16, is one of the older guys in the draft so he will be close in age to Dvorsky and also is a right handed RW which is a weakness in the blues system with snuggy being the only right handed player that is expected to be a NHL player.
I really don't see the Senators taking a forward in this draft. It's probably Silayev > Perekh = Dickinson = Buium for them (assuming Levshunov is first off the board)
I’m sorry, but I disagree with your choice for the 5th pick. As a Habs fans, Silaev at 5th doesn’t make any sense. We need offense depth and we are full to the brim on too many dmen, especially on the left. Kent Hughes especially said publicly that he’s going to go for a Foward. If (hypothetically) both Lindstrom and Demidov are gone at 5th, then Iginla or Sennecke or Catton. If we MUST draft a dman, at least go with Parekh, simply because he’s a right handed and more offensive than Dickinson (even though I like his skills too).
I am really interested to see what this could potentially look like with the potential for a lot of trades in the top 10. NJ and Ottawa open to moving will absolutely cause some wrinkles
The Flyers aren't taking another RW. They need to trade some away as it is. Michkov (coming) Konecny, Tippet, Forester, Brink, Atkinson, Hathaway and a few in the AHL knocking on the door.
I like Buium if NJ doesn't move the pick, but they'll have to move someone else out of their d pool to make room. BPA regardless of position, figure it out after.
Fellow Devils fan here. I don't think you can ever have too many D-men in your system. Dougie Hamilton won't be on top of his game forever, and I can see one of Marino, or Siegenthaler being moved. We can draft one of Yakemchuk, Dickenson, or Solberg. They can marinate a few years.

16.) STL - Adam Jiricek
Eiserman @4 is laughable. Sharks won’t take another forward @ 14. The ducks have said they want a top 6 forward and middle 6 forward in the draft, not gonna draft levshunov, most likely Demidov. Buium and Parehk both ahead of Sam D? Could happen but seems unlikely.
@@speedybure Anaheim not wanting Demidov if he's still there would be crazy. Also Cayden Lindstrom to 10 is also ridiculous.
Mock draft finalized. I think it's much better.
Love you hockey guy but the reason Connelly has so much skill but is projected so low is the same reason Chicago can never pick him. Off ice issues. Very well done article a few months ago in The Atheletic detailing the player and issues.
Celebrini and Eiserman are actually best friends as well, they roomed together at Shattuck St. Mary
Michael Scott : Nope, don't like that
Thank you. Been waiting 🔥
I just got to say that you are the best hockey analyst period. As for the draft no one on earth knows how it’s going to go. Anyways surprises!!!
The Blackhawks aren't passing on EJ Emery for a 2nd round winger #18 overall
Silayev going to Montreal is truly asinine
Doesn’t fit what the team is looking for at all
Not because he’s a defender because he’s another shut down defender… we took Reinbacher last year we’re not taking a left handed Reinbacher (we didn’t even want a right handed Reinbacher)
Plus Hughes said they're going with a forward
Shannon you make these videos that are typically “robotic” (other nhl TH-camrs) and just make it such a vibe.. great video!
I would not like that for the Sens. In this scenario Id rather Iginla or Dickinson at 7th and Ej Emery or Elick at 25, But Id also really want Parekh at 7 but in this scenario he's gone.
i would not be surprised if Demidov drops from 2...scouts haven't been able to watch him much in person and what they have seen has been in the KHL.
As some who practiced and went to school with Lindstrom he is an absolute gem
At this point I don’t see a combination of Zeev being at the 10th spot and the Devils having their first round pick happening. But it would be cool to have him. He’s very talented and the Devils need to Jewishmax.
Thats an epic Sharks jersey.
Sabres need to draft someone with size, they have too many small forwards already.
I keep hearing but Alex tuch tage Thompson there not that small
@@nicolasdeperno2000they have drafted a lot of small players lately but they do not have a small team that plays
Tough to see the Flyers picking another RW when they're extremely deep at that position. If that's how the board falls 1-11, they need to go Cole Eiserman.
In my mock draft, San Jose trades their 1st pick to Buffalo straight up for Kyle Clague. 👍
I think everything in this mock draft makes a lot of sense with the exception of Montréal drafting Silayev at #5. The reason is that Montréal has an oversupply of left-handed defensmen already. Good job buddy !!
If the Habs draft a defenceman there will be turmoil in the fanbase lol. I wouldn't be shocked though.
Agree with the Hawks picking a forward (they have enough D prospects with Korchinski and Vlasic already starting, and Del Mastro and Rinzel waiting in the wings), but I'm not sure it will be Demidov.
Chicago won’t be touching Connelly even with a 100 foot pole… uhhh look into the controversy about him and you’ll see why he is lower than his skill would put him in the draft
if he's an attitude problem, he'll go to LA to learn from PLDiva.
I think Philly gets Eiserman and the get a steal 2nd year in a row.
As a wild fan I would want Eiserman cause I think the team line up of
.Kaprizov, Rossi, Khusnodinov
.Boldy JEE Eiserman
.Hartman Yurov Zuccarello
.Foligno Stramel Ohgren
.Faber, Brodin
.Theodore/Cychrun?, Middleton
.Bogosian, Lambos
Wallstedt
Would go crazy and would cut the need to get a elite 6th man that I think JEE and Boldy needs, like Fiala with that line was the best and if we could get that with a more developed Boldy and JEE we have 2 dangerous top lines that would make a crazy power play line up and would save us money to get a elite defenseman like Theodore or Chychrun.
If I'm Steve Yzerman and Eiserman is still on the board at 14, I'm trading up that one spot from 15 to take him instead of Greentree 1000%
If I'm Yzerman and Brandsegg-Nygaard is still available that's who I'm taking.
@@Blaize24 From what I hear, he has a solid floor but a lower ceiling compared to someone like Eiserman. I want to see a big swing soon
@@StickinAroundHockey Fair. But we're not gonna get a big swing picking at 15 so I'm good with the higher floor, tbh.
If all best case comparisons hit, this will go from weak draft to strongest draft ever.
There’s been a lot of talk about Hawks going Levshunov at 2. I think they were the only team he had dinner with during the combine
Great Draft. Just don't see NJ drafting a defenseman though. I could see them drafting Eiserman, Senecke or even Helenius.
Zeev BPA by good margin if he’s there at 10. After that Sennecke and Helenius make sense (right shots)
Update: I think they are going with active player comparaison
Bedard and Demidov could be the New Toews and Kane 🏒👍🏻
Nice list, I think Stian Solberg will end up being quite good. Had a great world championship
Thoroughly enjoyable video.
Are you able to throw the link for the prospect comparisons from the hockey news into the description? Thanks!
@thehockeyguy I agree with the Sharks #14 pick, especially because Cole Eiserman and Celebrini played together at Shattuck, will play together at BU if Celebrini stays And the two apparent remain good friends to this day.
Seattle has had scouts in Spokane looking at Catton. I'm sure they hope he'll be available at 8.
Ryder Ritchie in RALEIGH 🌊 🔴 🏒
G.
So opinions are not allowed? Lol isn't the whole isn't an opinion as it is.?
wicked draft
What does Montreal have to dangle so Columbus moves of Lindstrom?
Nothing. I don't think they take him.
Doesn't make sense for a mock draft, but I really think both New Jersey and Buffalo trade their pick for immediate help on their roster. They are both in win-now mode and are already stacked with young players and prospects.
I think we will see a lot of movement at the draft this year.
Quinn Hughes 5'10" 180.
Totally agree on the Blues pick, mostly because he’s been playing in Sweden, and since Steen started working for the team, the Blues decided they wanted all the Swedes in the draft
isn't MBN from norway?
Yea it’s makes to much since to pick nygaard if he is available. One of the most NHL ready guys that could be available at 16, is one of the older guys in the draft so he will be close in age to Dvorsky and also is a right handed RW which is a weakness in the blues system with snuggy being the only right handed player that is expected to be a NHL player.
@@doaftheloaf apparently, but he plays in the Swedish league, so I guess Steen is watching a lot of those games.
When Boston drafts in the first round again it’ll be a great time. Super psyched to see what the Flames do though. I hope they can get Iginla somehow
With the lack of depth on D for the Sens, I’d be shocked if their first two picks didn’t include a Dman
the habs are not picking a defenseman we already have like 11
Montreal isn't drafting another defenseman
they arent drafting Demidov either
I'd love to see Catton still wearing le bleu blanc rouge!
I'll be pissed if the Habs end up drafting another dman...
Definitely just changed as of today the Kings traded the #21 pick to Montreal and now have picks #26, #57, and #198.
Whether Bedard remains a center is an open question at this time, no doubt.
Just can’t see the Flyers taking a winger that isn’t Eiserman if he’s available
I am really interested to see what this could potentially look like with the potential for a lot of trades in the top 10. NJ and Ottawa open to moving will absolutely cause some wrinkles
6'7" 207 lbs is a toothpick.
You're able to add on size, not able to add on height. Teams are obsessed with tall players.
Not really a toothpick. He’s going to be 235lbs when filled out probably more
The Flyers aren't taking another RW. They need to trade some away as it is.
Michkov (coming) Konecny, Tippet, Forester, Brink, Atkinson, Hathaway and a few in the AHL knocking on the door.
I could see Iginla going to Ottawa at #7
He might go to Utah purely as a publicity stunt.
@@ADB358 Absolutely. Plus you never know if they'll pan out or not (looking at you Merrill, Gelinas, & Urbom lol). I like Dickinson too, but I doubt he makes it to 10.
I can't see the Avs drafting Kivihauru that high. They already have LHD Behrens and Gulyayev
Berkeley, California....that would work for me.
He spells it Berkly, though.
Waiting for Berkeley Stanford to be a pro athlete, it's bound to happen.
@@mannyoliveira776 Haight to see it Not Happen.
Carolina owner stated that as long as he owns the Hurricanes they will never draft a Defenseman in the 1st round. I honestly think they are going for a forward
Not having Stian Solberg going first round is crazy
