    “Uterus falls down” could be referring to a terrifying phenomenon where if you give birth it can collapse later in life. It happened to my aunt recently and she needed surgery to correct it. She hasn’t even given birth a lot, only twice

    6:18 The uterus does indeed fall down and as a woman that sounds absolutely terrifying. Happened to a about 70 year old family member of mine. Had a device put in to physically hold the uterus walls up. From my knowledge it’s not the most comfortable thing putting in and having in. I don’t know the technical name for it but yes, it falls down for some older women.

    2:38 肠粉 (chang2 fen3), which was translated here as "intestine powder", refers to a type of steamed noodles made from non-glutinous rice sheets formed into a roll-type shape. It gets its name from how the tightly rolled noodles (fen 粉, for context rice vermicelli is known as mi3 fen3 米粉) look like pig (zhu 猪) intestines (chang 肠), and is sometimes stuffed with filling before sauce is drizzled over. This dish is commonly seen in some provinces of China, Malaysia and Singapore under the names Chee Cheong Fan or Jyu Cheung Fun (rendered in English), and is also known as 猪肠粉 (zhu1 chang2 fen3).
    So why "intestine powder"? As shown above, chang 肠 refers to intestines, but fen 粉 also is used to refer to powder. As such, if you directly translate chang fen 肠粉 into English without sensitivity to contextual features, you'll end up with this strange answer. In context, this particular product is used to steam the uncooked mixture to form those rice sheets, and then shape then into the noodles... in addition to whatever other steaming you intend to do. Despite its name, it is possible to prepare this dish using only plant-based ingredients, since it only requires rice and tapioca flours, water, and a special soy sauce with a vegetable filling, if you desire.

    As someone who speaks a little bit of Japanese, I think I might be able to guess how it was translated as smork instead of smoke. Keep in mind, I'm not fluent by any means. Sometimes in katakana (used for foreign words), you use what my Japanese class calls stretchies (not what they're actually called but idk the actual name) to make the long oo sounds and sometimes they are used for r sounds as well. This is not for a certain but it's my guess as to how this happened. I could be wrong since I'm not a fluent speaker.

    • @hayvenforpeace
      @hayvenforpeace 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That’s how it would have happened, I think (not a native speaker, but have studied it for years).
      English words get ‘Japanized’ with non-rhotic pronunciations, with few exceptions. So a syllable ending with an -o sound would get the same katakana as one ending in an -or sound.
      Smoke and ‘smork’ would both be スモーク in katakana.

      Better translation:
      1: If the fire alarm goes off, please do not panic. Use the stairs not the elevator.
      2. If smoke is coming in from under your door place a wet towel under the door.
      3. Leave the room immediately, but feel the door handle first, if it's warm find another exit. (A bit unsure on this one, but that's what I could gather)
      4. This one I'm most unsure about but it could be get out as quickly as you can and go to a common area (like fire drills at school everyone goes to the parking lot or something)

    A womans uterus can actually fall down. And that is not the only thing that can fall out down there. Both men and women can have problems in the rear end also. Muscles are holding the insides in place. Weak muscles = Timbeerrrrr ... I learned this the hard way. 🥺

    Uterine prolapse is a thing that can happen to women of certain age (usually after menopause) when your pelvic muscles are not as tonned as they're use to be (my mom had that happened to her, so she got a hysterectomy), so uterus falls down is not wrong on that list.
