Guys, it's just one day! It happened just today..... I see so many comments complaining about the "editor" "new editor" "Emkay loosing their sanity" like come on! These guys record in advance and the editors try their best to give us amazing outputs 🙌🏻 there will always be times when things might get a lil wobbly..... We should just appreciate all these fun videos Emkay puts out on a daily basis ❤️

If anybody is wondering, Russian texts actually mean “Sausage in dough” - a common snack in Russia - instead of “sausage in father-in-law” because “in dough” and “in father-in-law” are spelled the same. Yeah, we have a separate word for “father-in-law”.
The one with 100 years monkeys is actually pretty interesting. First of all, “years” is mistakenly translated grams i. e. “g”, you are not supposed to put dot after common shortened words like grams, and g with a dot is a common shortened version of “year” (год). And I was actually surprised by “monkeys” as it’s not something that is spelled the same, the word манки just sounds a lot like monkey. It’s actually just a non-formal name for semolina. In fact, we have a dark pun in Russian about the similarity of these words. I won’t tell it as some people might get upset, but just know that “give me” sounds like “die” in Russian and well I already told the “monkey” part.
0:30 there's actually a pun about that, words "father-in-law" and "dough" being the same word in that specific word combination. Russian has a thing where the words change with the prepositions in a sentence, so "тесть"(father in law) and "тесто" (dough) after the "in" preposition would both be "тесте"

2:06 Captain here. This seems to be written in Russian. In Russian (and other slavic languages) you can shorten common words by writing the first letter and then a dot. That's why it says "100 г." This "г." is short for grams. However, the word for years (also a commonly abbreviated word) starts with the same letter and is therefore shortened the same way. A human can infer the exact meaning from context but this automatic translator seems to be struggling with it.

The word "Манки" phonetically sounds like "Monkey", pretty sure it is on another Cyrillic based language because of its phonetic similarity... Though in Russian it's the plural form for "Semolina flour", "Манка"
But, I definitely DO NOT know where they see "Сахара", plural form of "Sugar" and got "P*ssy" from it.
I only know very basic Russian and learned how to read Cyrillic for a while now. So, I don't know how you can Translate "Sugar" into cooch honestly ☠️☠️

The idea that cancer is contagious might be the single stupidest thing I’ve ever heard.
Shockingly, there is exactly one kind of contagious cancer. At some point some poor dog thousands of years ago developed a cancer whose cells will actually colonize other dogs (usually via sex) and give them the same cancer
But yeah, in general it is a very stupid idea. Nature just sometimes decides to say fuck the rules!

I wasnt sure what манки was until i looked it up. Turns out, it was talking about semolina, a type of flour. The translation software literally just assumed it was it was monkeys because thats how you spell the english word with russian characters. The word was plural because of и, which is often used at the end of a word to indicate plurality. Years and grams both start with the same letter and are commonly shortened to just г, so it thought it was years instead of grams
It also apparently took the "все" (all) VERY literally, as it though the в character (russian v) was just an english B??? If theres other out of place letters, thats probably why
"Maclo" (butter) is another one where it just took the spelling of it into english, This time without an english word
I have no idea what happened to the sugar (the first item on the russian, above the "monkeys" in the english) or the rest of the list without looking at the original, but clearly this translation software is not that smart :/

There were three mistranslations from Russian today, so I want to explain them in case someone is curious.
0:30 The original name means "sausage in dough" which is basically a hotdog with different type of dough. So, there are two words that have been mixed up, "тесто" (dough) and "тесть" (father-in-law) that look the same in the chosen form. What I think happened is that someone tried to be smart (unsuccesfully) and google translated "сосиска" and "в тесте" parts separately therefore not providing needed context for the second part. Resulting in this.
1:54 Okay... By the measuring of the first ingredient I assume it's flour, although I'm not entirely sure, like, it coud've become "torment" or "sorrow", but not "creative". The second is "100 grams of sugar", but again, no idea HOW. Third is "100 grams of semolina", the translator made it "monkeys" because "of semolina" ("манки") reads as, well, "manki". Next, milk became 50 y.o. because "г." (with the dot) stands for "years" and "г" (without the dot) for "grams", so here it's just a mistake in the recepie itself. "Creamy butter" is creamy because, again, the translation is too literal: in Russian "butter" and "oil" are depicted by the same word, "масло" (maslo), but with "creamy" or "herbal" to make it clear out of what it's made of. Eggs don't need to be commented, it's fine.
"Все ingredients" is "all ingredients", it just didn't translate "все" (vse) for some reason. "Maclo" is just hilarious. It's clearly "масло", but... Not translated and with letters partially changed to roman. No idea how it could possibly happen. "Sauna" seems to mean "oven" here. It's more logical to assume "на пару" (on steam), but since the degrees are provided, definetly oven. "Vc" just means nothing. Though it might've been "всё" (vs'o), meaning "that's all"/"that's it", but it's only an assumption.
4:52 The original reads as something like "hren beliy" and means "horseradish" or, if more literaly, "white radish". The word "хрен" is also often used for cursing, but I still fail to understand how did they manage to mistranslate it that badly. Also, "южное море" (yuzshnoye more) means "south sea".

1:20 That happens because Chinese isn't a phonetic language like English is, so a proper name like "Florida" doesn't truly exist. It would always be a combination of other words that have independent meaning. So the English words "flower girl" sound similar enough to Florida" that they used those characters in the title.
The same is true if you say something like "Saskatchewan." The name "Saskatchewan" by its very nature doesn't have a direct translation, so Chinese would approximate it as "Sa si ka che wen", which in Chinese would be gibberish but they would understand it to be a proper name of something. Like when someone says "Liverpool" you don't picture them crawling out of a bloody swimming pool full of livers.
12:17 Similar deal, the Sapporo Snow Festival is a thing in Japan. So that can would've been printed and designed by someone who, while probably fluent in English, likely doesn't speak it regularly enough to pick up on nuances like "73th" as being a mistake

7:48 The rice there is probably from 米国 literally rice country which is the formal Japanese name for America, with just 米 sometimes representing an American thing. Also if you are rightfully confused about why America is the rice country that is because that is an alternative form of 亜米利加, this text is ateji which means each character does not carry any meaning but are used for their sound and they are in order a me ri ka. So it was just a way to spell America in Japanese before they adopted katakana as the script for loan words. Most countries that Japan met before Katakana have one of these ateji, for example, France is the buddha country from 仏蘭西 pronounced fu ran su. As for why they picked rice for America that is because 亜 on its own represents Asia so they skipped that one and picked rice

It's wierd how translation software knows and assumes as primary meaning russian swear words (a lot of which are out-of-context normal words, like "female dog" or "radish" or "fig"). In reverse situations it translates a lot of english harsh language politely, for some reason. It literally gave me a translation of a "fuck you" as "you are intercourse")))
