this filter is used on australian made cars for the Middle East market, i have a camry 2004 with 1mz-fe and it uses this filter, american made models use the D1 version, i dont know if they are interchangeable, but this one is physically larger, i suppose it for hot climate performance
this filter fits many more engines than what is listed on the box, including, FZ, RZ, GD, KD, TR, and GR, plus there are few more i cannot find but it shares the same thread and gasket diameter.
@@EmbraceTheSuck I suppose very low efficiency wouldn't be considered an "issue" unless one prefers an oil filter with better than 50%@20microns rating.
This guy could have been more interesting. The filter that I’ve cut open are used from my car and I want to see if there’s babbit, metals fillings and if it’s doing its job. The first one I cut open was 70 years ago and to my surprise they all had bypass valve. So, if filter got so dirty or plugged the spring opens and dirty oil then goes to the bearings, that’s better than no oil.
@@departmentoffiltration6021 btw sometime back I came across a forum post of a comparison between Toyota filter made in Japan vs made in Thailand and the made in Japan one was better in quality. Toyota filters made in Japan could easily be identified by the part number as they don’t have any English numbers in the part number

Little sticker on top is the same one on the box @ Wal-Mart, i bought one yesterday.

The Toyota Thai Denso filters are not noted for being very efficient...~50%@ 20um.
Never had any issues with them
