    Not sure who gave this a thumbs down. It's great work, better than many I've seen, and with a homemade knife. I hope to be half as good as you some day.

    THANKS sooo much for another great viideo!!! I really enjoyed this video as your past videos...the only suggestion I might make is that I'd LOVE to hear you make comments, suggestions and warnings in your videos! I can imagine that you don't enjoy doing that, but PLEASE realize that your comments, as small or fleeting as they may have, would LOVE to hear your comments and suggestions as you carve your WONDERFUL videos!!! In any instance, may you and yours ALWAYS, safe and enjoyable carving!!!

    Hey Kevin, I love your videos. I've seen in several comment threads that your rough out knife is an old fish knife that's been modified. I have not seen what knife you use as your detail knife. What is it? You're amazing. Thanks for all the videos!

    • @KevinCoates98
      @KevinCoates98  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you Scott. I use a flexcut roughing knife for a detail knife

  • @charlesjohnson9116
    @charlesjohnson9116 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    Kevin, Great video, I broke the blade off of my Chicago Cutlery so mine is something like yours and I like it that way because of the handle fits my hand and have better leverage cutting. Better than some of my carving knives.

    Kevin, I am a beginner whittler. Is the carving knife you are using in this video homemade?

    • @KevinCoates98
      @KevinCoates98  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Its a fillet knife modified a little.

      @@KevinCoates98 Thank you. I purchased a beginner carving knife set from Woodcraft, but would like something a little more substantial. I truly am enjoying your videos and learning the art of wood carving.

    • @KevinCoates98
      @KevinCoates98  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Chuck, I also use a Flexcut roughing knife. I use it for a detail knife. It cuts decent and no problem to do a carving from start to finish with it.
