Good run, although there is a way to shave off those two seconds in Green Hill to get a sub 1:40. Try to learn rail coasting, and there's a little few things you could clean up here and there. In general though, you've mastered this game way more than I have. I could probably go pretty quick up until Crisis City. I don't play it enough to know all the routes. Super fun game to speedrun.
Ngl it was demotivating to watch other speedruns constantly use glitches and exploits to break stages apart so I'm glad to come across a run that plays glitchless and respects the stage lmao Sick run, dude, this got me hype to return to Generations
Genuinely love the way you saw that *awful* light speed dash at the start of chemical plant and just went "nope, not dealing with that!" I can't count the amount of times I tried to take it and it just didn't work
That was AMAZING, I love casual speedruns cuz they show me the best and easy ways of getting the job done. Could you just list me the skills you used throughout the video plsss?
Thanks a lot! I don't remember exactly, it's been almost a year since I played SG, but I think I used those: Athleticism Blast Off Speed Up Acceleration Endless Boost
Despite seemingly using the same skills as you for Seaside Hill (Blast Off, Endless Boost and I assume Speed Up?) you managed to beat my best time by 30 seconds - I had no clue you could do some of those skips, that's amazing!
Geez Louise that was satisfying to watch. Really puts into perspective all my times that i was convinced were good. Also, why do you drift so often? Is it faster than purely boosting?
I am using the Infinite Boost skill, which provides infinite boost but doesn't allow me to collect any rings. The reason why I am performing only one trick in the rainbow rings is that it helps me finish the combination faster and continue with the run.
Man the only close time i have is 12 seconds behind yours on green hill. The chemical plant gameplay is super impressive, haven't been able to pull of half the stuff in it
I noticed that this is not a time attack, since you’re not allowed to use modifications when doing so, yet there’s no life hud on the top right corner. Is it optional to have multiple lives in the game? Nice walkthrough, though. It’s not perfect, as I’ve seen players doing glitchless videos as well, but it’s a good run
I disabled lives because it's not a "competitive speedrun" for speedrun.com or any other website, same reason for why there is no timer. Just a casual run to cure my boredom.
Complaining about 2d when the other version of the character is literally based on 2d, like get real of course there’s gonna be 2d and if you’re complaining about modern 2d modern does NOT have 80% you are tripping like crazy sorry but yea this game isn’t 80% 2d even with both of them combined it comes nowhere near close to that, like the first person said this is more like 50 or 60% 2d so again that’s more colors than gens. If you don’t like generations that’s fine, I’m just baffled by calling a game that’s nowhere near 80% 2d, well, *80% 2d* feels like at that point you’re just making up reasons to hate

Thanks, I know about those, it's just some shortcuts are really hard to pull off on a keyboard and I did not have a controller when I made this video.

Glitchless is my favorite category in general. It shows legit skills and not exploits.
POV:Sonic Drifted so Hard that The Cameraman can’t even follow
What timestamp?
I think it’s during Green Hill Zone cuz that has a Drifting Part
Genuinely love the way you saw that *awful* light speed dash at the start of chemical plant and just went "nope, not dealing with that!" I can't count the amount of times I tried to take it and it just didn't work
Yeah, that ring dash is awfully unstable, it works whenever it feels like it.
4:22 That rail switch is insanely cool
This video is somehow the video that made me learn by checking the comments that infinite boost doesn’t let you grab rings
Props for playing really well! I only recently got into this game and man it's just so fun!

Yeah I also used Speed Up. Had to watch a lot of speedruns to learn some of those skips.
I love the fact that I found a few of these little timesaves by myself. God I've played to much green Hill
This is a fun category, I might run myself in the near future
Hey it’s you hi
Geez Louise that was satisfying to watch. Really puts into perspective all my times that i was convinced were good. Also, why do you drift so often? Is it faster than purely boosting?
Yes in some locations drift speeds you up and helps you save time.
Some classic sonic speedruns would be interesting.
I love glitchless runs, they make Sonic feel faster as he's actually running instead of abusing some bugs + can you tell me what's your build? :)
Just wondering, why do you only do a single trick on rainbow rings and ramps?
I am using the Infinite Boost skill, which provides infinite boost but doesn't allow me to collect any rings. The reason why I am performing only one trick in the rainbow rings is that it helps me finish the combination faster and continue with the run.
