Nana mouskuri from 1963 is a well known Greek singer, I love her song called "Only Love" among others, and Baccara from 1978 had a huge hit called "Yes sir, I can boogie" that you may have heard of. France Galls entry from 1965 is a true classic yes(I often also listen to "Ella Elle la" a hit of hers from the 80s). They had a lot of good songs, but my favorite of Luxembourg is 1973; Tu te reconnaitras.
Fun fact, France Gall’s real name was Isabelle but she had to change it due to Isabelle Aubret having been signed to the same label. Isabelle Aubret won ESC 1962 for France.
I 100% believe Luxembourg will be here to stay. They seem very enthusiastic to be back (I'd even say moreso than several countries that have been participating for a while). One fun fact I have is there is a sizable portion of the country that speaks Portuguese (and I think a couple of people in their national final are of Portuguese descent)
Toy And Goy the 1978 entry Baccara (the two girls are from Spain) they became a very very popular group in the disco era in Europe of the 1970's and beginning 1980's with songs like "Sorry I'm a Lady", "Yes Sir I Can Boogie" and few others.
I bloody love so many Luxembourg entries. In fact, my fave Eurovision Song EVER is Luxembourg 1993 - Modern Times - Donne Moi Une Chance! ❤ My 2nd fave being the goddess Pastora Soler - Quedaté Conmigo.
What's interesting is in the last 30 yrs there were a lot of Portuguese that moved to Lux. and now are 15% of the population. It looks like 2-3 acts of the 8 selected are from that ethnicity. It will be interesting to see how that effects the music style and probably will have more songs in English.
They came 2nd last place in 1987 with Plastic Bertrand. That clip for 1964 is taken from a different performance and obviously not from the lost ESC broadcast. My favorite is definitely Lara Fabian's entry from 1988, but the 1972 and 1973 and 1979 entries are also really great. But I'm not a fan of the 1982 and 1983 entries even though they came 6th place and even won respectively. Marion Welter from 1992 will always be remembered for that jacket, poor thing. And they did try to send faster songs sometimes, but it rarely worked for them in the same way that the ballads often did. The 1978 and 1980 entries were good though and made the top 10, but so did the atrocity from 1984. And similarly, all of their successful entries after 1964 were performed by female artists, and thus, they seemed to almost refrain from sending male artists...

I have the impression that Luxembourg was the current San Marino: it had to look for its participants beyond its borders, France, Greece, Spain... Without a doubt, the ones that won are all great, but I am especially fond of one that did not win, Baccara's.
Haha I love the maybe incorrect facts! The smoking and drinking facts are so shocking 😂😅 I guess they do have money. I live in Australia and our cigarettes and alcohol are so so expensive most of us everyday people can't afford them anymor 😅😂 I definitely quit smoking and drinking due to the cost 🥲

not sure where you got the 2nd place information as it looks they finished 21 in that year.

Expect Luxembourg to give Portugal a lot of points since the Portuguese are the largest ethnic group in Luxembourg
