honestly as soon as I realized that was a joystick on the side of it my first thought was 'shit, this could make editing really nice and fast.' More mice should do this or just feature more unique stuff like that.
After the ultra-lightweight craze (holes and stuff) on gaming mice these days, I personally think that modular/hot-swap mouse switches should be adapted too, I mean desoldering a mouse switch isn't hard, but it'll save time in case one switch double clicks
The joystick on the mouse can give huge advantage in FPS games where your sensitivity set to low for maximum accuracy but suddenly need to do a fast rotate with the joystick that can be set on high sensitivy...
This needs to become more popular just for the people who get double clicking and don’t want to open the mouse just to fix it and change the switches like me
I use this mouse's cheaper cousin, the "Core" variant, to fly in Planetside 2 (the joystick is bound to manual pitch and roll so that my mouse (which has roll on x and pitch on y axis on planetside) can be used to aim more accurately with lower sensitivity. Funily enough, this mouse also fixed the acceleration issue that occured after the game was ported to ps4. It's a really nice mouse in my opinion, especially considering it (THE CORE VARIANT, THE ROG VARIANT IS 15 MS SLOWER) has the lowest click latency ever recorded and the clicks themselves have a really, really nice tactile feel to them, way nicer than the g903 and 502 I had before this mouse. In order to use the joystick, you do need at least average (male) hand size (19 cm) because if you don't, you're going to have a hard time reaching the joystick properly with your thumb with certain grip styles.
I have the 502 and I absolutely love it! Although the one thing i wish the 502 had is something like the button extender, from the basilisk. Since my thumb doesn't quite reach the "snipe" button, the button is just above my thumb
As a long time logitech G13 user in need of a replacement I fully agree. Debating this mouse just to have an alternative to my G13 for when it finally dies
It's the grey switches that come from Japan, I swap them into a lot of my mice. The blue ones are the generic Chinese 50M Omrons that come in most gaming mice.
Being a MOBA player, I love the joystick idea. I use a Razer Orbweaver as my keyboard for MOBAs because I don't like dragging the mouse to the edge of the screen to move the screen. This can really come in handy!
I have been using mine for about two weeks and I love it. I was a long time Razer Mamba user, but I have been converting over to ROG products and this seems to fit perfectly. I will say the analog stick is nice, but a bit of a stretch for my thumb. Most likely because I use a hybird palm grip and my hand is set farther back on mice for the most part instead of resting it right on top.
As a 3d modeler this mouse seems amazing! The joystick makes modeling much faster. I've been using a RPG mouse for 3d modeling so I can work in 3d easier but the joystick will make it even faster. Definitely going to buy it, and thanks for the great review.
hot swap switches isn't a great thing for configurability, the majority of people won't notice the difference. It IS, however, terrific for replacing a dead/dying switch without having to either desolder then resolder your mouse together(like i'm about to have to do on by g700) or take the switches apart to replace the metal plate that wears out. I'd prefer a cheaper option without rgb, especially on a WIRELESS mouse. Having the joystick there is a nice ada addition. Not sure i'd really like it that much. I still feel the g700 is my perfect mouse. I just wish they'd do a refresh.

So, the G9503 Even though no one cares, I really don’t think this mouse is that good mainly just weight, in no way is it a gaming mouse. It’s trying to be an ergo working mouse and a gaming mouse with a lot of buttons even a joystick but then it puts that annoying RGB which could have been spent on weight (on top of the weight, no ptfe mouse feet or something better that won’t be mostly broken in less than a year). It’s 160 too, unless you want, something for work and gaming which you will also have to replace the feet in about 2 years, you just NEED an unreasonable amount of buttons then this would NOT be the mouse for you, the basilisk is way better and 10 less. I have a question! So I am on a Mac and absolutely HATE the magic mouse in all ways but one, the scrolling. Wanna scroll up? Down? Left? Right? No problem! Its VERY useful in garageband and video editing as well. I wanted the MX master for horizontal scrolling but its not good for gaming. Then I saw the keychron M6 but it is poorly built. Then I saw this mouse. Now my question is, can the thumbstick be used for smooth scrolling? I would REALLY love a gaming mouse that would let me do that. Whats up guys im randomfrankp, absolutely iconic
Just hold the stick in a direction, and it scrolls until I take my thumb off, that is all I want!
“And you wouldn’t know it, if you didn’t know it” 😂 that made me laugh
I could watch your intro for hours
Would you maybe be able to take the razer viper ultimate switch and take the logitech g703 sensor and put them into the ROG Chakram? That really be the ultimate gaming mouse! (Please answer or do a video about it) Love your channel! Keep up the good work. 👍👍👍👍👍
I'm in love with this thing. Will buy it someday
I can see the joystick being great for many people, but it kinda ruins it for me. I'd rather have one or two extra buttons. Can you set the joystick to act like buttons? Like up = button1, right = button2, etc.?
Hey Frank. Just wanted to know if the RGB Zones are individually lit and can be customized separately in the Aura Sync Software or all are in sync and cannot be individually customized. Keep up the gr8 work.
I'd love to test this with call of duty and map movement to the joystick. Use the keyboard for all non movement keys and just crouch/prone and Sprint. Wow that would be sick!
My birthday is coming up soon and you know im about to get this
can you use it for fortnite and is it 360 degree movement
