Hello, I have an old H16 NR S/N 10779. When trying to remove the lens mount, I find there isn't enough room to pull it out, even with the spring clips stretched out. And one thing i have noticed is, the threaded center piece is longer on mine. It seems to have as much sticking out with mount on as yours does, once you remove it. The clips holding it in place seem to be moving like your and I've defiantly pushed them as far as they can go. Mine doesn't have a handle on the front, if that matters. Wondering if this a common thing and if there is a way around it. Thank you.

      @@rickyspanish2517 Hi,
You're welcome to email me some photos and videos of this via bolexrepairphilippines@gmail.com.
*In addition as I always point out it's best to sent a camera to a service technician for repair. A Bolex (or any vintage movie camera) camera contains tiny screws, springs, glass elements etc that can get lost in the blink of the eye. Therefore whatever mistakes made to your/a camera in any attempt to repair/service your/a camera are on you*
I am willing to view the photos and videos you send to me concerning this. A service technician would give that Bolex a new complete CLA that it most likely needs.

Keep in mind not to force the Bolex turret aka lense mount. That turret could be extremely rusted and or corroded. There have been times that some Bolex owners had glued the turret so that it wouldn't move or rotate.⚠️this is not to be done⚠️. Turret caps are available to screw into each available area on a Bolex turret where there isn't a lense attached.

It's very possible the shuttle blades are in the way. View all my videos. The one provided below could help you.

hello beo thanks a lot for the video, do you think is possible to use an old model of bolex with new kodak films just changing the spike rollers?

      Hi @JOEBLACK1979,
Some Filmmakers have even used the original film rollers and filed down one side with a diamond file for single perf. 16mm and 8mm film are 16mm and 8mm. The real job can be getting the rollers re-aligned evenly. Otherwise, the film will become eaten and or creased. You're welcome for the video.

@@paulmorbid1476 Your channel is awesome, yeah i was thinking in machine down or file the one side spikes, i have 2 bolex in great condition one 8 mm modified the gate as a wide screen 8mm, and the other one is 16 mm original but the motor is stuck not engaging or at least not doing anything when you move the crank, i am trying to find a service here in Budapest. and by the way where can i see your movie projects?

When you have a Bolex (or just about any vintage movie camera) with a motor that won't wind down apply heat using a hairdryer to the outside area where the motor is located. Do this for about 45 seconds while pressing the shutter button. Then usually it's motor will start to wind down. The camera will need to get a new cla. Because the original graphite grease inside the clutch motor barrel and around the spring has solidified. The motor will have to be removed, opened up, spring removed, checked for cracks , rust corrosion etc. The spring and inside of the barrel will have to be cleaned, spring reinstalled. I have a video of this in the series. Concerning my Experimental Horror Film this will be my 1St after retiring from managing Star Wars talent. Thank you for the kind words about my channel.

I have a bolex with a missing shutter blade, i heard you mention the 'resetting' of the shutter and pull-down claw. Could you elaborate on how to exactly do this, since i'm thinking of installing a new shutter blade?

Hi Sander, I'll have a video on setting the timing and pull down of the claw in a video. It's far too much for an explanation. All seals must also be reapplied to stop light leaks after the just before and after the repair is finished. More videos concerning this subject on the way.

If you get this camera working, or even for the motor to spin, I will be amazed.

Hi Zack, true this Bolex is in bad shape. Only time will tell.
