This casio is a joke for 800 usd.The citizen is a great watch. I want the green one. U 822 is the movement. In my older promaster is the U 680 movement. My mudmaster GWG-B1000-3AER was cheaper and way more functionality. The caseback is not a big deal, if it's tough solar, you don't have to open it for years. But the manhole type back is nicer. Even my cheaper GW-5000U use the screw in caseback, and a metal case, this time the resin is on the outside. But this new casioak should use sapphire glass for this price tag. I'm waiting for your chaotic unboxing video of the citizen promaster land. The first time it was named combination watch if I remember correctly. 👍👍👍👍
@@Pler1978 I don't think 800 bucks is absurd, but this casio watch is not worth that money, compared to other brands,or models. But yes, I'm not a billionaire, I have my limits, and watches around 1000 usd are pretty good for me. That's it.
@@Baruch-Hashem I have citizen watches, and it's nothing wrong with them. The quality control is actually very good, sometimes even better than seiko and casio. They are not cheaply made compared to the others.
i am good with the mudman gw9500 and gw9400. if i am paying the amount of 800 , i would definitely get gwg2000 instead. maybe i prefer more toy looking watch over metal. metal watch definitely looks good with suit i agree.
This looks very similar or inspired by a watch i own, casio Edifice EFB-680 A great stylish watch around 100-150 .. this new g shock is nice but well overpriced imo
@@JimKinkade agree and it looks amazing I always get compliments on it as people think it's an AP at a glance and when they hear it's a Casio they are surprised and always ask where I got it from
This is wild... I dont get this one. It seems like its missing something on the right hand side... Almost as if its lob sided or fake looking. GMCBFGK2100ADA2AKF... Thats a terrible code haha. Reminds me of another acronym I'm not fond of starting with LGB... etc. It might be an unpopular opinion but polished finishing is for people who work in offices and brushed finishes is for people who build offices. Suddenly that $300 seems like a great deal haha! Jim have you tested any watches with Hesalite at work? I wonder how it would hold up with diesel and oil and grease and so on. Promaster Land U822 sounds like a lost U-boat. Take care Jim!
Can we just step back a minute- who is this meant to impress even? Currently, most 'regular' folks will think it's out of date since it's not an apple watch, whereas casio enthisiasts will also ask you what you were thinking. Jim's GM-2110D looks way better, so does the GST-B600. This design doesn't pass my squint test: for any good watch, you should be able to squint your eyes and easily tell the time - that's like the basic function of watches. Oh shїt, I think I've just become a casio snob.
Yes you have become a Casio snob. Maybe now Nico Leonard will invite you to his soirees. I hadn't seen these watches until the other day on ebay. I'm going to order one. I think they look really cool. And they might be a big deal someday.
A possibility (or impossibility) to put whichever band, or bracelet I want at that GMC is absolutely disgusting from Casio. It seems like, considering a ''steep'' direction of the price tags these days you did a good job with your church watch Jim (even though a 300 bucks is turbo expensive for that, there's no doubt). If that's true, what did I told you about 50 bucks per feature Jim? Well, it wouldn't be 50 anymore, it would be 200 now. DLC coated screwdown caseback is an absolute top dog, nothing better exists. That MTG Voltron is probably made of titanium, brushed and polished as I can see quickly, that's why that case looks different (because it is different). OG squares from 1983. was a stainless steel case, with a real almost suspension style stainless steel buttons, stainless steel polished screwdown caseback and a plastic bezel which was a zero quality at the time since Casio was still learning, including bezel screws which was a lot different than today and impossible to unscrew after couple of years, single orange LED was .... since EL light didn't been invented, a quality of a steel for the case was great, and the accuracy of the module was great too. (I got a couple of those). There's a lot of 150 bucks new Casio Edifice watches with a sapphire glass. good video
This is a poor man's MTG, same movement, except not cheap, you can get a MTG for $800 easily if you look around. Unless you're in love with the design, may as well get an MTG.
No! It uses the movement for GST B100, without the independent hour-minute hands motor, which is inferior to MTG. That being said, This new model does come with a full metal case and solid bracelet. I owned MTG B3000 and I am very disappointed with the lack of weight on my wrist, the full metal square feels more premium at a lower price.
@@oceanzu6585 which hour minute hands, big ones or sub dial? Anyway, gst 100 has no solar or day dial, I think the MTG has more in common. At this point I think Casio has it quite modular, they can move the dials around, have slightly different features with the same basic movement. MTG 3000 for example lacks a hand hide feature, that the MTG 2000 has.
$800 isn't much fot a masterpiece.

It's not the official price so maybe it will actually be less. We'll see.

I hate Citizen, cheaply made and less reliable than Casio. Yes, Citizen spends a lot of design, ig they only where more quality focused

I love brushed steel, brushed titanium, matte resin, anything that sits low key enough that it lets the watch itself do the talking.
We need a brushed steel G-shock.
Yuck might as well go burn your money.
I'm not saying it's junk but you can't adjust for daylight savings time or choose a time zone without the app😅
I wonder what the digital crown does. Interesting development! $800 probably too much but 🤷🏻♂️
Allows you to set the time, or countdown timer. Useless if you use the Bluetooth features

Mudman all the way bud 👍👍👍 not this $800 piece of drugs
I agree!
They've finally manage to unf---up the circle to the left, turning back to the original 2100, but then... God, what's this circle at the bottom? 🤦
If you meant the small circle near the bottom, it is the AM/PM indicator
Second time zone / stopwatch / timer

Waaaaay too much 😅
That $300 one looks even better now, huh?
$ 800 is ridiculous, luckily casio has lots of other models to choose from, I'll pass on these!
My opinion...this group of watches are all low end. I'll pass!!!

That's a good one about the polished vs brushed! I've never tested Hesalite but I'll look into that.
i entered but i didn't get any notification of winning. lol. i won't be paying 65 dollars tax for that wall clock.
Should be 250 or 300 tops.
They have a new steel watch at the $300 price point, it is the GM2110D.
TUTU in italian is a dress for classical dancers... like those of the swan dance 😁😁
That's right! It's a tough watch that's named after a ballet dress.

There is always some sucker out there, who thinks that when he pays more he himself is worth more.
Who the hell pays 800.- for a G-Shock...
Its all relative to income and expenses. Hard for most to imagine, but its pocket change for a lot of people.
There are even more expensive Gs ($2500, $3500 and $5700)
Hideous and expensive thing there. I'll pass.
The bracelet is boring, really horrible. The best of the recent been of the original small version of 2100. I LUV my rose gold version.
I've seen videos of that rose gold one and I think it looks great.
