Having digital shoulder buttons is great for every game that is not Melee. Light shielding is a mechanic in the game, having digital buttons completely removes the ability to do it, which means if you play Mr. Game & Watch, you have no shield, because his base shield is so small that it forces him to rely on his Light Shield to survive. As well, there are situations where a light shield is better on all characters, so not having the choice of it just kinda sucks.
@@starfruitified3456 if you have zero workarounds, I agree. Like Super Mario 3D All-Stars had to rework the controls just to work with digital buttons. This schmuck pulls up with all digital and says, “Fixed.” Not thinking of the consequences of his actions.
It is, but kinda isn't. I do have a PS Vita, and while dpad is one of the best dpads ever, I absolutely hate the face buttons. For dpad, it makes sense to be clicky, as it is a single piece, you really want your dpad to be precise and easy to roll your thumb on, so it is a fair tradeoff. It doesn't make much sense for face buttons tho, as they imo don't do much. Mushy buttons on PSP are just as responsive and tactile, and your thumb doesn't hurt from playing an action game like GoW
Because everytime someone is playing against you they get the joy of hearing that insane clicking for every input the entire time they’re going against you.
bro last week a my local I was playing friendlies with this guy and he dropped his phob once and It completely broke lol these custom internals r really fragile so be careful with em
Hall effect GameCube controller?! Yes please! Lovely jade green buttons, not too much a fan of the mouse switches in there but this is very cool. I’m looking for a hall effect controller that I can get custom painted rose gold but I haven’t found a company that would do it.
Your gamecube controller thoccs better than my mechanical keyboard 🤣 Tbh this seems like a really cool build I'd play on once tbh; one that puts the POWER in power shield. The analog triggers really have me curious. They definitely click, but do they do that mid-press, or only when fully depressed? How does it feel to play with them is something I'm also curious about.
The lack of entropy idea reminded me of playing Halo: Combat Evolved with scoring turned on. If you play the game on Legendary difficulty, you get more score, but the game is harder and you take longer to beat a level. If you take too long, you won't get anymore score and can only lose it. This creates a really interesting balance of beating a level fast enough while also not dying and losing score. Its also very challenging as you have to understand the enemy ai, how weapons work in the sandbox, when to use grenades, when to take cover, etc. Thanks for making a great video and making me think about the games I play.
Wait, I'm sorry. Did you remove the variable button press on the trigger? That's like one of the most unique parts of gamecube, and while not hugely useful light sheild can help to stop some shield pokes
can confirm, I upgraded to a Phob last year and found someone that could swap the face buttons with mouse button internals. It is the most crisp controller I have every used. Definitely recommend it
Idk, having feedback is good, that's why digital controls kinda suck but This is probably adds too much resistance and feedback which means it's gonna be harder to push wich means you're going to wear it down faster and when that happens you're gonna lose all the feedback
Although I personally believe the GameCube controllers are incredibly overrated,I cannot deny the incredible modding capabilities of it that the fanbase has acheived, great job!
You make content on fighting games AND TF2? You literally make vids on the only 2 sorta games I play, very nice coincidence. Anyway, keep up the good work! ❤
TF2 Music adds to the experience
yes

That's exactly what I was thinking lol
Meet the engineer
Yes
We spend years searching for controllers that don't have clicky buttons and this dude makes one into literal mouse clicks.
I'm part of the minority who loves clicky controllers just like a mechanical keyboard
I also prefer clicky buttons on controllers, it’s nice because it provides more feedback for when a button has been pressed
Mushy buttons are the worst trash possible.
Why would you not want clicky buttons? 😭 that has to feel so gross like if you got coke stuck in your buttons or sum
Dude, Nintendo switch wireless gc controllers are awful because of how clicky are its buttons, and then this guy make it worst 💀
but..my favorite part of the GameCube controller is how the OG buttons feel. Them spongey back buttons and clicky z button is so satisfying
Frr, og GameCube feels so good
"Why? Well why not?"

Considering that you had Melee on the CRT, it's missing Firefox notches. Also paracord cable.

I'd HATE playing with this. I'd need to wear earmuffs 🤣
I really wish they made controllers with the d-pad like this. Finding a halfway decent pad for fighting games is near impossible nowadays.
The razer fightpad got the d pad right highly recommend it best d pad ever tbh
Just mod a sega saturn controller to be usb, the saturn controller is one of the best fight pads I ever used
I will never forget that saxophone from the expiration date animation 😎

my right one only has the full sheild on the mouse click press. Meanwhile the left one has the analog slider enabled to allow for middle values
@Finrei That makes sense. You'd still have the C L I C C without losing the utility you usually have.
