It was so rusted and took a real thin screwdriver between the metal and the plastic of the intake it bent and I took some needle-nose pliers and bent it and came out

Appreciate the info. I have a ‘03 GT and just my nipple came, I still had about an in left. I was able to grab enough to make it home. The hose came in my garage. I couldn’t do a 3/4 my nipple was smaller, so I tried a 3/8 it didn’t work, and then I tried a 3/4 female reducer to a 1/4 male. It went in perfect but didn’t grab. So I ended up using a tap for a 3/8, tapped it and did the rest like you. Everything working right now, thanks again.

Need to remove all of the old metal out of the hole. Use something with a sharp tip to separate the old metal nipple from the intake.

When it broke the engine was so hot that it wouldn’t stay running. When it’s cooled down and I made the repair it started fine. If it has trouble running are you make the repair and its cooled down there is something else wrong. Sounds like a vacuum leak.

Jake Hetzel the new manifolds are re designed from ford to not have this failure, this is a half ass job because it’s not the correct way to fix it this is the easy or cheap way , and yes It does take about an hour to do unless you sit around with your thumb up your ass and don’t know how to use common hand tools
