This was the only available video that explains how to remove the original heater core hoses on a 2003 Mustang V-6. The video was very helpful in my case, although I removed the hose on a 2003 Mustang GT. Certainly very informational & very useful information for the "do-it-your-selfers".

Thank you for your video John!! I had the EXACT same leak in the EXACT same place on the elbow connector!. I ended up breaking the elbow completely trying to pull it out of the hose because my crimp was metal not plastic and I couldn't figure out a way to loosen it. Anyways your video was a gold mine of education for me so thanks for taking the time

I found an easier way to remove the hose was to use thin piece of nylon rope wrapped around between the black hose end and white lock tab. Once rope was wrapped around, I crossed the ends and cinched the rope tight to compress the release tab. May require two people, one to cinch release tab and one to pull hose.

This looks like a common problem. I have the same leak (outside passenger side Hose) on a 2001 Mustang. Is the dealer the only place to get the pre-assembled hose? Thanks for the video, I think it will save me LOTS of time and frustration.

Thank you for posting this, impossible to figure out without breaking something if you don't have some explanation first. I've had more than a dozen cars, drove them all over 200K and never had a leak at the heater core connection on any of them, including my current GM truck at 300K+. Leave it to Ford to over engineer a simple connection and cause a problem. They could have simply attached a hose directly with a clamp, but no they have to use clip on plastic that gets brittle over time with heat and rubber o rings that will eventually leak. Minga. Camera work could use some improvement too much movement :-). Thanks again though a life saver!

Im gonna do away with that quick disconnect junk on my 06. Gonna put a METAL angle fitting in there, with a short piece of hose and hose clamps to hold it. Trying to get rid of all the plastic crap under the hood that breaks down internally and clogs the heater core... Ive got some pieces coming apart now that are clogging my heatercore.

My 97 expedition had the same setup. I revved the piss out of it in the yard and it blew it right off for me haha

These two hoses were already removed from my car when I purchased it. Any idea why someone would remove these?

They deleted the heater core and heat all together

The hose burst and it was bypassed most likely. That's what happened with mine.
