    Thank you sir !!! That looks like the easiest water pump job i've seen. I own a 2004 Mustang GT with a recent water pump leak. A shop quoted $750 just for just the water pump replacement!! They wanted another $175.0 for flush and $190.00 for thermostat !! I'm doing all of that myself thanks to you !!!

      That’s awesome! Makes me so happy to hear and the main reason I made this video. It is pretty straight forward but if you have any questions feel free to send me a message and I’ll help however I can.

    Great video , I’m going to be attempting this soon on my 02 , is it important to have a torque wrench for the reinstall of the bolts?

      Thank you! I always like to use a torque wrench where there is a torque spec, but I do know people that just go by feel. I would recommend a torque wrench, you can get one pretty cheap at harbor freight. Good luck with it!

    I just did this to mine 02 mustang GT and it’s has a slight whine at a cold start idle now

      Did the belt get wet at all with coolant? If it had any liquids on it when you started it, that could cause it to whine but should go away after it warms up and dries off. The other thing it could be is a bad bearing in the water pump, I’ve seen them be new and bad out of the box before.

    No thread lock needed for screws?

      I don’t believe so. The most important thing IMO is making sure they are torqued down correctly. I can’t see why a little thread lock would hurt though.

    Great video!!! Only thing I would've liked you to add was how to burp the coolant system? Or is that what the idling afterwards is for?

      Yup just keep the overflow tank topped off and let the car idle until it gets up to operating temp with the coolant cap off. Squeeze the radiator hoses every now and then to get more air out

    is it not bad to have coolant pour all over your engine like that?

    • @bikermikemotors
      @bikermikemotors  ปีที่แล้ว

      No it’s not a big deal, I wipe it off after with some brakclean anyway and it’s like it was never there. You have to remember that whenever an engine leaks anything it always ends up all over it anyways.
