Since 2010, there has been a fundamental change in our government. The Constitution did not require changing, because our Supreme Court made the change by simply a majority vote. "Citizens United v. FEC" was voted AYE and the foul deed was done. By that vote, wealthy corporations could contribute without limit to campaigns in federal elections. The highest offices in the land were on auction. I believe we have just had the seventh such auction, this one a presidential one. To be elected to any federal office, a candidate must please the corporate oligarchs. They now run our country, or - better said - our country is run to please them. There has been no dictatorship in history with a firmer grip on its country !
