I’m ex British military and brings me to tears every time I see this. It’s so hard to watch this but an absolute pleasure to serve under all of the royal household. God save the queen.
Thanks to you also, for your service. This is, isn't it, so hard to watch, I will be a mess on the 19th, but a sense of pride compels us, to watch, to witness, a truly fitting tribute to a really special ex-military officer, and so much more besides. He went on from defending the peace and our liberty to protecting the Queen. The choice of Nimrod was beyond apt. A fine man indeed. They didn't break the mould when they made him, he smashed it to bits on the way out. Little wonder he only had to wait 17 months, to have relied on that inexorable force of togetherness for strength, for 70 years...when one goes the other won't be far behind...They were an inseparable duo, now together again, the like of which will not be seen again. I feel very proud to be British & SO proud of our Armed Forces. Thank you again. I'm not just a Monarchist, I'm a Star Wars fan too so I'll close with "may the force be with you" and God Save 👑 The King.
I can imagine- Ònly Brits and maybe Germans EXCELL in these circumstances. As one put it after Her Majesty's passing and her funeral;"We have a pretty weird systeem...-but it wórks for us" The soothing power of tradition which we happily are appreciating more and more in the Netherlands. The Queen and Phillip are probably cracking dirty jokes right now.
The only thing giving me comfort right now is that Her Majesty & her Prince are together again. RIP HRH Queen Elizabeth II & HRH the Prince Phillip, Duke of Edinburgh. Thank you for your service.
I cried like a baby throughout this whole thing. Such a beautiful and moving ceremony. Such a amazing man and will be a truly missed role model. He would of been so proud R.I.P HRH
Just yesterday a nation lost their monarch, but a man regained his wife. Rest In Peace, Your Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, you are now reunited with your husband.
The birds singing along in the background, the daffodils, the breeze, the blue sky, the solemnity of the moment. This is a memorable recording befitting the remarkable man that was Philip Mountbatten.
As a retired RAF Nimrod Navigator, this piece of music obviously has special significance. However, I have never heard it sound as wonderful as this & played in such a fantstic setting & yes, I am in floods of tears. RIP Sir.
The music was picked to perfection every piece was moving and had a level of grandure that I myself cannot explain, I still shed a frew tears whenever I hear Nimrod being played. May Prince Philip and now Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II rest in peace
Simply stunning, the military presence and music was outstanding, the carriage and hoses was a beautiful image... such a beautiful and fitting send off to a great man !!
While I am writing this, I am crying as my heart is with the Queen who lost this honourable man supporting her his whole life. May he rest in peace and strength for all those loving him!
Earlier this semester my university band learned this piece, but weren't able to get it performance ready by the time of the concert. At the time I thought we sounded pretty good, but after watching this performance earlier this afternoon, I understand why my professor cut it. It's such a moving and beautiful piece.
If this song is played at her Majesty's funeral i will be in bits, this is remembering those that have given something for others, this is walking along a beach with the wife and kids remembering our parents, this is taking 3mins out of ourselves to think of others, this makes me cry every time as i get to remember...the poppy fields, the lands full of graves of forgotten soldiers, dads, sons, mothers and daughters. Very moving.
The profundity of the music needs a gravitas of presentation setting. These performers, in that outdoor setting, finally meet that standard, no indoor setting being equal to the task.
Prince Philip was always my favourite Royal, I remember him with great affection. He was a no-bullsh*t man’s man, a war veteran, and always kept us in suspense as to what outrageous yet hilarious remark he would make next. On meeting the President of Nigeria, dressed in traditional robes: “You look as if you’re easy for bed.” About Princess Anne and her horsey obsession: “Unless it’s got four legs and farts, she isn’t interested.”
Oh my goodness! This was stunning. Perfect in every way and so moving: the ponies and carriage, the camera panning over the service personnel with bowed heads. Very emotional. The hairs stood up on the back of my neck.
Nimrod always brings me to tears...As a daughter, Grand-Daughter and Great Grand-Daughter as well as a Great Niece of those that have served in the RAF, WRAF, Navy and Army.. it always has special poignance...
A very fitting and moving farewell, and happily just as he wanted. Broke when I heard this, also one of my mother's favourites, and final processional at her funeral.
The assembled troops are genuine in their respect. HRH DoE was a good man, a military man, one who commanded the respect of troops and the mens’ bowed heads here are not simply because they should; they’re because they wish to. May he RIP.
What a great send off! Truly magnificent and what a beautiful day in a stunning setting. The impeccable discipline of the military branches was topped of with that wonderful music. Goose bump material.
One of greatest musical pieces ever and well my emotions are all over the place what an immense performance of true feelings for a wonderful man rip prince phillip
This piece of music… so moving. I hadn’t heard of it until HRH Prince Philip’s funeral, although I was familiar with most of the other pieces. His two ponies, and the little Tupperware container containing treats for them… brought me undone…
As a Military Bandsman I found the sound quality of this outstanding for outside, so much so that I wonder if it was pre-recorded?, Either way fantastic performance!
I love that Phillip picked out the music. I kept it together until this piece as it always reminds me of the heartbreaking scene from the film 'Elizabeth' with Cate Blanchett. It's so emotionally powerful.
Prince Philip, Queen Elizabeth II's irreplaceable better half. The funeral songs and the event itself reflect to some point the greatness of Great Britain.
absolutely awesome : empire on air : remembrance reverberated : collective commiserations : moved to tears :( (shame the BBC presentator didn’t get what “mourning television” meant but WOW ! a damned fine show...)
Does anyone know please which song was directly after this one and before Jerusalem? I want to buy a copy. Ive tried Shazam music recognition and its not recognised

i have never served but every time I see or hear something like this it makes me cry and think of the sacrifice of our armed forces to keep us safe

The Queen and Phillip are probably cracking dirty jokes right now.
The glimpse of the household staff turning out to pay their respects was very moving.
The cooks with the armbands that’s when I lost it. We don’t honor our leaders like this in the USA.
It was, like seeing something from a different time.
@Collin Carlos no Collin, we don’t
I honestly also shed a tear.
Ommm it was MANDATORY
I'M NOT BRITISH AND THIS MOVED ME TO TEARS. AN EXCEPTIONAL TRIBUTE.
NO ONE DOES IT LIKE THE BRITISH!
Thank you!
Thanks
Thank you!
Same here!! Incredible.
Thanks
The only thing giving me comfort right now is that Her Majesty & her Prince are together again.
RIP HRH Queen Elizabeth II & HRH the Prince Phillip, Duke of Edinburgh. Thank you for your service.
Monday they are put them side by side, as they were in life.
@@MrModerate_kane You're so right, and so they are, now, finally at rest, together.
The image of his cap and coat on his old carriage with the music in the background was a real tearjerker.
Cried my eyes out at that 😢
Plus the two carriage horses being comforted.
There are certain pieces of music that bring you to tears. In this setting, I couldn't help but shed a couple, especially at the last scene.
For all the ceremony, it's those little, personal things that really hit home.
That was my breaking point. It was so moving and poignant.
This flitted his Royal Highness well. I cried so hard at the professionalism these men showed. He would have been so proud of them.
I cried like a baby throughout this whole thing. Such a beautiful and moving ceremony.
Such a amazing man and will be a truly missed role model. He would of been so proud R.I.P HRH
I did too. I just adored the professionalism they showed. His Royal Highness would look at them with pride.
It was beautiful
Just yesterday a nation lost their monarch, but a man regained his wife. Rest In Peace, Your Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, you are now reunited with your husband.
We were so lucky to have Philip and his funeral reminded me of just how privileged I am to be living in this beautiful country 🇬🇧🇬🇧
🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧 Indeed! 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
England lives and marches on.
The birds singing along in the background, the daffodils, the breeze, the blue sky, the solemnity of the moment. This is a memorable recording befitting the remarkable man that was Philip Mountbatten.
Very british and done with utmost professionalism and respect to hrh who dedicated his life to his wife .
As a retired RAF Nimrod Navigator, this piece of music obviously has special significance. However, I have never heard it sound as wonderful as this & played in such a fantstic setting & yes, I am in floods of tears. RIP Sir.
I think, I hope that HRH is happy with the level of performance and attention to detail. He deserves it richly.
The music was picked to perfection every piece was moving and had a level of grandure that I myself cannot explain, I still shed a frew tears whenever I hear Nimrod being played. May Prince Philip and now Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II rest in peace
And now we all can cry again!!
The gloves and the hat at the end nearly sent me .. very moving.
With the little pot for the sugar lumps for the ponies. I cried from start to finish.
I was wondering the significance of the jar, thank you.
No nearly about it, I’m gone, blubbing like a baby
Simply stunning, the military presence and music was outstanding, the carriage and hoses was a beautiful image... such a beautiful and fitting send off to a great man !!
Also the sight of his hat and gloves on the seat made burst into tears
A wonderful send off on a beautiful day for a great man. I’m sure they did him proud. God bless HRH and Great Britain!
Unbelievable so proud of our military. Tears and tears . Rip philip
Beautiful. Respect. Admiration. R.I.P. a very great man. HRH Prince Philip
The perfect masterpiece for the man himself .
RIP Prince
I cried watching this live. Such a sad day for Britain and the Commonwealth 😢
A day later I'm replaying over and over all the stupendous music Philip chose. thanks for putting this togther.
Can’t stop watching this. Heartbreakingly beautiful
While I am writing this, I am crying as my heart is with the Queen who lost this honourable man supporting her his whole life. May he rest in peace and strength for all those loving him!
They are together Monday again, you’re never apart for long in our short lives on this rock.
Such a beautiful piece by Elgar and so appropriate for such a touching tribute of affection and respect 🇬🇧❤️
Thank you Brit Brit! Beautiful song!

At the time I thought we sounded pretty good, but after watching this performance earlier this afternoon, I understand why my professor cut it. It's such a moving and beautiful piece.
Such a fond farewell to a great gentleman. The beauty of Elgar’s moving music makes me so fond and proud of the British. Composed. Honorable. Perfect.

Yesterday Our Glorious Majesty Queen Elizabeth the 2nd Joined HRH Prince Philip In Paradise. The likes of them we shall never see agian RIP
That song is just so moving. I was in bits 😭 R.I.P Prince Philip you legend xx
Piece
Truly impeccable. With the greatest and sincerest of respect for a life of service.

European Civilisation at its best.
A ww2 veteran who served his adopted country for close to 75 years man you gotta respect that
Just wonderful, magnificent,.
The sound of the birds makes the music more special
Currently the best thing on youtube
Amazing and moving piece for an amazing man. RIP ♥️♥️
The Carriage and the Tribute from the House Staff did me in. Nimrod😭
English Civilisation at its best.
Nimrod always brings me to tears...As a daughter, Grand-Daughter and Great Grand-Daughter as well as a Great Niece of those that have served in the RAF, WRAF, Navy and Army.. it always has special poignance...
The bagpipes was beautiful... I tried to bottle it up, but I couldn't any longer... I sobbed 😭
Simply humbling and beautiful, and at the same time haunting, the boys did him proud on this day
Beautiful! So moving and easy to reflect on life. GSTQ! RIP Prince Philip.
Sublime
Great word

He had the total respect of all Commonwealth Armed Forces.

Fantastic. Thanks. 👍
OMG Stunningly visually musically and ceremoniously. What a lovely tribute. I am Sure the Queen was moved by such beauty for her beloved.
One of the most moving part of the ceremony. This piece almost made me tear ups little. (Almost)
Beautiful music
How can this receive any thumbs down. Shame on you.
It's a free country or so i'm led to believe.
The anti Whites no doubt. Its ok to be racist if you're from a savage background.
This hym gets me all the time I will never forget the fallen please where your poppy's for the fallen
This piece of music… so moving. I hadn’t heard of it until HRH Prince Philip’s funeral, although I was familiar with most of the other pieces. His two ponies, and the little Tupperware container containing treats for them… brought me undone…
This is played every year at the Cenotaph on rememberence Sunday to remember the Glorious Dead and their sacrifice for us. I cry every year so much!!!
Beautifully played! Very touching!
Very moving. Thank you.
Just Beautiful
Magnificent .
The “beard game” at 3:15 is UTTERLY on point. Nice done, good sir.
The best tribute to a great man.
So moving.
As a Military Bandsman I found the sound quality of this outstanding for outside, so much so that I wonder if it was pre-recorded?, Either way fantastic performance!
Superb musicians and superb acoustics. A perfect combination. 😊
If you have played in the quadrangle at Windsor Castle, you would know that it is ideal for this type of event.👍
Nothing like a tribute from the underworld 👍
I love that Phillip picked out the music. I kept it together until this piece as it always reminds me of the heartbreaking scene from the film 'Elizabeth' with Cate Blanchett. It's so emotionally powerful.
So moving,
RIP your majesty queen Elizabeth
Astounding 👏
great word!
the best
Very moving.
Loved Philip
Wonderful.
Reverence w impeccable music.
Out of interest why do people dislike the video? Amazing music and no disrespect to anybody
Anyone who dislikes this obviously has no human heart
Awesome
Up the the Brits !!
Proud to be British
It was poignant, peaceful and dignified
pretty sure its a combined RAF, Royal Marines & Guards Regiments band as opposed to just the Grenadier Guards.
Prince Philip, Queen Elizabeth II's irreplaceable better half. The funeral songs and the event itself reflect to some point the greatness of Great Britain.
Anything, anyhope, it all died not long after this. It's gone
why so?
What lovely comments. Decency in an indecent age.
Nimrod -- A great grandson of Noah." He was mighty hunter before the LORD." -- Genesis 10:9.
The Majesty of Monarchy
absolutely awesome : empire on air : remembrance reverberated : collective commiserations : moved to tears :(
(shame the BBC presentator didn’t get what “mourning television” meant but WOW ! a damned fine show...)
Sad day
England lives and marches on.
Prince Philip had good taste. I would have chosen this piece too
Con un funeral así vale la pena morir con 27 años.
y él tenia 99.
My nans funeral song
Sadly, I watched on a US network, and the commentator yakked all through this.
♡
1.12 who was that
For valour
Does anyone know please which song was directly after this one and before Jerusalem? I want to buy a copy. Ive tried Shazam music recognition and its not recognised
I think your meaning the hymn "I vow to thee my country"
@@britbazza3568 Hi I found it in the end was called Supreme Sacrifice.
What would they have done, if it was not corona?
the same, he got exactly what he asked for, which is exactly fit and proper!
But with more audience 😉@@gms77777
@@gms77777 Not exactly! There would be at least much more audiences!
