Well I kept hearing a dull thump sound while I was holding the camera and researching ehe code: 00 I decided to open the battery compartment to get the batteries out and throw the camera away. When I opened the battery compartment the new batteries that I had put in about 15 minutes earlier were all oozing some kind of crap everywhere. It looked like and had the consistency of hand sanitizer. Of course, it was not hand sanitizer. It was a big mess. I suppose the camera was not air tight enough and had gotten moisture into the electronics.
