Wow!!! First problem is what's been driving us crazy. My boy just got a lynx in his cam last night , but all 1 second clips instead of 30. Thanks for the vid!
If your battery meter says fifty percent or less ,,the night videos will be shortened automatically by the camera itself ,,also I might add that most manufacturers do not recommend lithium batteries and some say to never use anything but alkaline
Excellent, I thought my camera wasn't working, then watched your video and just realised that I hadn't used it properly ( or read the booklet that comes with it) problem sorted I hope, have it all set up to record. Saved me from thinking it was broken.
I've had lots of issues with short 1s night videos, and always assumed the camera was at fault due to only running cheaper cameras. But recently my favorite camera a 24mp Browning Dark Ops started acting up mid season! It's always been dependable year round until now so I hit the internet. My search brought me here and thankfully I just got a pack of lithiums last week so I believe they will have a new home shortly, thanks for the hot tip. This problem has been dogging my cameras for years now!
Thank you for this! I had a trail camera that cost 40 bucks that worked perfectly for 2 nights, then the 3rd night it would only record videos for 5 seconds or even 1 second when I had it set to 3 minutes. I asked the people I had ordered the camera from but they were absolutely zero help, no suggestions as to what the problem could be, told me I could get a replacement but that they couldn't guarantee it wouldn't "break" within a week as well and told me I should just get one in a higher price class. So I bought a new one, from a different place, different brand, etc. for 80 bucks. 2 nights and it did the exact same thing. Set to 3 minutes, the first couple of videos were indeed 3 minutes but the rest were 45 seconds, then 7 seconds, 5 seconds... Now I finally know why! Still, for Duracell batteries to deplete that quickly.. ouch! I had no idea it would take THAT much power to film at night. It has the option to connect it to a power source (outlet) but the adapter needed for this didn't come with the camera so I'll have to do some searching for one or try the batteries you suggested!
The night IR in video mode can be very hard in batteries (especially longer videos). I limit my videos to 20 seconds and then give the batteries a break (20 second delay). Lithium batteries will out perform all other batteries but their price keeps going up! I’m using more and more solar to overcome this. 👍
@@HuntingFarmerOfficial The thing is, I'm not using it to see what animal occasionally walks by or something. I use it to record my husband in his sleep as he probably has RBD. He fights in his sleep to the point where we can't sleep in the same bed anymore because it's too dangerous. They've tried to do tests on him several times by putting all kinds of wires and equipment on him but he can't sleep with all that garbage on his body. So I wanted to record what happens at night. For that, I need it to start recording as soon as possible when it picks up movement, and for as long as possible so we can see exactly what happens. I got 5 very useful 3 minute long videos from the first camera before it supposedly "broke". Wish I had known right then and there what the problem was so I didn't have to buy one twice as expensive only to get the same problem. I ordered an adapter which should arrive in 2 or 3 days. Hopefully with a constant power supply the problem will be fixed.
Great vid Dave. One more tip: Trail cams don't work from behind a glass screen - no idea why but they just don't. I had set mine to operate from behind a window - no photos then I set it outside the window and it worked well.
Nicely done, Mr. HuntingFarmer! I've only had issues with one trail camera. It was one of those that supposed to be 4K... ha, right. Anyway, when you go to the menu and "Shot lag", it is suppose to take picture(s) or video when the motion occurs, and then wait until however long you have the "Shot leg" set before catching anything else. Instead, at the end of the length of time you set the "Shot lag" it would take picture(s) or video. The only use it is good for is using it for time laps. Set the "Shot lag" for 30 minutes... every 30 minutes you get a picture, etc. The motion detection didn't work at all. The company was good to respond to the emails, but never offered my money back or a replacement.
Great video Dave.2 more Problems that I have run into r not using a Grade 10 SD card .Most the time the higher Dollar Trail camera need them .The other one I have had a few times is the camera not taking pictures at night.I found that the filter is plugged. So if u go in a dark room & turn the lights off for 10 to 15 seconds then turn them back on.Do that about 5 to 8 times.Your camera may take pictures at night again 👍
Thanks for posting a comprehensive troubleshooting video! This was the first place I came to when I searched. My problem was not seeing videos in infrared. I had gotten several nights of good results. I use lithium ion rechargeables in the 4K Vikeri. The camera battery charge indicator looked full, so that's why I sought an explanation. It may be that the rechargeable Li Ions give a false reading. I also had the included memory card go bad. But the night videos are amazing once again after recharging.
Yes, rechargeable liOn have a different behavior compared to standard lithium. They're 3.6V with electronics inside to reduce voltage to 1.5. They maintain a steady output of 1.5V and then drop off a cliff, whereas standard batteries reduce charge at a steady slope. Some electronics won't work at all with LiOn rechargeables. The camera seems to handle them, but the battery charge level is probably a shortcoming resulting from the rechargeable battery. I can use them in my DSLR camera just fine. Standard lithium batteries seem like they're the best in all situations. @@HuntingFarmerOfficial
Hi Dave, I had a problem with the Victure 100 Trail cam where the menu button would not work & another where the screen just showed as fuzzy dots after these cameras were used in my wood for 6 months to a year constantly. Just changing batteries and the cards when I needed too. I though these trail cams had broken so just put them in the garage for a couple of months. Just before I was about to throw them a way I double checked them and found the were both working properly again. I think that as they were out in all weathers & temperatures that some moisture had affected them inside. After leaving them in a warm dry environment for a wile seemed to rectify the problems I had with them. Just thought I would share this tip. Thank you for the great info on the trail cams you do my wife & I are regular watchers of your Channel in the UK. The tip about formatting I will try as just formatted in the lap top after downloading videos and get some videos that go funny with residue clips from previous footage appearing on some of the video files as a jumbled up mess. So will also try formatting in the camera too next time I put them out. Thanks again Regards John & Tracey
Many thanks Mr. Hunting Farmer. Solved my problem of camera not recording - my batteries were rapidly running out after camera activated. Put new rechargeables in and it works all night in my garden. Great to picking up Badgers, Foxes - and the odd Cat! Thanks again - I've made a note of some of your other tips too and have subscibed. Phil Edwards. Connah's Quay, Flintshire, North Wales. UK.
great video. I have an old Moultrie A-5 that won't come on, even with fresh batteries. Is there such a thing as an internal battery that might need replaced? You are correct about the frustrations involved in using these. I always place 2 cameras about 20' apart. Just this morning, one camera had a half dozen deer pics taken during the night, but the other camera didn't have a single deer picture on it...just a couple of crow pictures. Thanks again.
I have an inexpensive trail cam, a WOSPORTS Trail Cam. I have used this cam for quite a while and it does what I need. My problem is that it does not recognize the SD card. I have watched your videos and appreciate them, I also don’t expect you to know everything about every brand. I have checked the card and it is a functioning card and I have also tried other known good cards and it still does not recognize the card. Do you have any suggestions? Thank you either way for taking the time to get back to me!
I appreciate you watching. Make sure the sd cards are 32GB or smaller. I also suggest not to use micro sd cards and adapters in the camera. Lastly I would format the sd card in a computer before installing it into the Wosports and then format it again in the Wosports settings. Hope this helps
Thanks for this. Doing my head in! The instructions say 'use 4 or 8 batteries but don't explain why! Forgot to switch it on too. I'll have another go now Cheers!
No pictures as of 2 days ago. Brand new cam, never used the SD card elsewhere. I reformatted the card and we'll see if that works. Thank you for a very helpful video!
@@HuntingFarmerOfficial Thank you! But I tried the reformatting and it still is not working. No pictures. :( Do you have any other ideas why it might've stopped taking pictures?
@@andyandcallie couple of things to check. Make sure the camera counts down from 30 seconds when you press the start button (to activate the camera). If the screen immediately goes black there is usually an sd compatibly issue. Have you walked in front of the camera? Does it take pictures of you?
@@HuntingFarmerOfficial It counts down from 5 seconds but it's always done that and used to work just fine, so no, it doesn't go immediately black. I did set it up on the dining room table so it would be guaranteed to see movement but no, it doesn't take any pictures. I do remember on the day it konked out, I got some message that flashed by too quickly for me to read it but I thought it said something about compatibility. Is there a way to totally reboot it or something? It's a Campark T56A by the way. The batteries are fine but might new batteries help?
We found your video so helpful and concise. We are trying figure out why our camera stopped picking up sound. We have gone through all of your steps above. Help? Thank you.
Really useful video Dave, thanks for this. I have a similar problem to one of your fixes in as much as I have a full charge, lights when triggered but randomly records activity. Is this likely to be a SD card formatting issue or a set up issue? I am running a usogood tc91.
Some great information, thanks. We came across an issue where the camera resets the date. Even though the camera said the batteries were good, this turned out to be a battery issue too
I enjoyed your video, lithium batteries are the best but one thing you didn't mentioned is they work better than regular batteries in low temperatures.
thanks for the video. In my case I think that my camera just stopped working. First it was the display, which started to have some glitches and lines. But the camera was still working. Then I had no more display. Sometimes it was starting, and I put it on "trigger mode" and 1 out of 3 times it did work. But now, it just does not trigger anymore. Display still looking broken (I never dropped my camera, no water got inside it, nothing like that). It's a pity cause I think that the cmponents still work. Sensors, camera, etc. I'd love to do something with those, but I'm not an electrical engineer or anything like that. I guess I'll get a better camera. I used it for a year and it gave me great videos!
I have a browning trail cam that only takes 1 second video at night only. I’m going to try lithium batteries like you’ve suggested and see if that helps.
What should the exact Target Recording times be set to for early am and nighttime ? What happens if it is just turned to OFF? Will it go 24 hrs a day ? Thank you.
If target recording is turned off the trail camera will be available to detect motion at anytime. Target recording on will only allow the camera to detect motion during the hours you have it set for.
1:18 I had to repair 12V version, with more complicated problems... No way to turn it on. So they brought it to me. There was totally corroded "bios like" Lithium 3V SMD battery ML414H IV01E on camera's mainboard with remaining voltage 0.6V only. I had to remove it out. But it didn't help itself. The next step - camera needed to be 24h unplugged without any power source to drain and reset completely. After 24h I put new 12V (8x1.5V) inside (the really new ones... the old batteries worked 10 seconds only and then we had to wait another 24hrs!) and the display turned on immediately and everything works fine.
I have two Apeman wildlife cameras. Both worked perfectly well until now. I haven't used them for a while and thought I'd get them back out again. However when I set them up they both countdown five seconds and that's it. They only take video for that amount of time. I thought they were both working so left them overnight, which I've done many times, next morning they take footage of when I open the camera to retrieve the SD card and nothing else. I do know there is activity outside overnight, but not showing on camera. Obviously operator error,, but can't find an answer in the instruction book.
I've got two issues with my trailcam. 1. It's not detecting movement that I know for sure it should day or night. I've tried all sensitivity levels and side sensors are switched on. It has brand new alkaline batteries and a 32gb HC class 10 SD card formatted on pc and the device itself. It detects me or the Mrs just fine, day or night, so surely it should detect the fox that comes each night for the food I put out?. 2. The internal clock jumps forward 3 seconds at a time, no matter how many times I reset it, leaving it hours out of sync. Hope you can help, Thanks.
Awesome troubleshooting tips! But, our Bushnell Cellucore 24 is showing no signal although we pay monthly for it. The app hasn't even updated since January. We have wiped our SD card clean & put in brand new batteries. Any tips before we buy a new one? Thanks!
Thanks for watching! I’m not sure what’s happening? If it’s at a location where you know there’s signal, it likely died?? Maybe Bushnell customer service could help diagnose the lights on the cam.
I have the Garde Pro E8 PCF , not getting any night time photos or videos, set it the same as yours, but nothing seems to work, changed the sensitive setting from high to low, and have reset the time to run the videos, did have 360 photos and videos during the day but nothing at night. Most of those were false triggers, many were one right after the other. Deleted all of them, though some did have ducks in the frame, Any ideas and love all your videos on the cams. Oh one more thing, I have the solar charger on both, and always shows 100% full, with the battery pack in and not the AA batteries. Really like the photos and videos I do get.👍👍👍👍
Double check to be sure you don’t have the Timelapse or work modes turned on. You want it to be on detection mode. Small adjustments in the mounting angle can often help reduce false triggers. Also never mount your camera facing east or west. This will also cause false triggers
Thanks for the tips. I bought a brand new Vikeri A-1 Trail Camera, new batteries, formatted card, followed set up instructions etc., but the only thing it records is me retrieving it the next morning. I tested indoors with it facing a blank wall. I threw some objects into it's view and then 5 min later when going to review it says No Files Exist. It's the story of my life- new piece of tech the doesn't work and it becomes another thing on my endless list of things to fix an deal with. The Vikeri TH-cam channel has all comments turned off. Gee, I wonder why. 😡
Excellent video. I have a T70 campaign trail camera. I have horizontal and vertical lines on my display in the Setup mode. What can cause this. Batteries at 60 %. Thanks for any assistance you can provide. Harvey Silverman
You have great trail cam videos. I have 2 Campark T45-1 cameras. I have good batteries, proper spec SD card, and formatted SD card. They will take puotos for a few days to a few weeks then just seem to stop taking photos. If I turn them off and on again, they work again for a period of time. But then they quit taking photos. Any experience with this behavior?
I'm having the exact same problem with the same camera. Driving me crazy. I can turn it off and on again with the same batteries that are reading full and the same half full card and works fine again.
Sounds like good stuff I'm going to try everything you said I know my problem is not the batteries it could be a format problem I'm not quite sure but thanks for doing your video
I just bought the trail camera dl001 and when setting it up. after entering a sertial number it will not go back to the menu. It's stuck in that 'position'. How do I get it back to the menu? thanks
Heya, great video - I have a problem where my camera settings will not allow me to switch to 'video' or 'photo and video' and I have brand new batteries and a brand new SD card in. I have no idea what to do. Thanks so much for any help you can give!
Good video. I am trouble shooting the lack of night videos. The only thing I have done differently is I installed the internal AA batteries to prevent losing the settings while charging the external batteries. 4 of the 5 camera's have stopped taking night videos. (Garde pro A3). Thanks from West Tennessee
@@HuntingFarmerOfficial camera is working now. You are correct about the power source problem. (Bad D.C. external battery power jack) thanks from west Tennessee
I will definitely start formatting the SD card when I put it in the camera. That makes good sense to me. I had been formatting on the laptop but adding this step is a good idea. I laughed at your “shameless” battery review video reference! Great video Dave! You are the Man!!
Great video and excellent tips, the inconsistent night time videos was my biggest issue, it would drive me nuts lol, I suspected it was battery related but I wasn't for sure, thanks for clearing this up! 👍👍
I have a question about several trailcams that ALL were destroyed at the same time, not to go into a lot of useless info but we know who did it & why what we don't know is how. I found something about lazers & security cameras (keeping them steady for 4-5 mins etc) do you know/think this could also be true with out trail cams?
Thank you for these tips! Quick question: we have a GardePro trail camera and use the mobile app to view footage, would you happen to know if there’s a way to have the camera/app notify us when movement is detected? Or do we just have to wait and check later? No worries if you’re not familiar with this, I very much appreciate this video!
I have a CamPak I bought last year. For the life of me I can't get the setting right. We have a possum likely eating my wife garden gourds. I want to fing out how it's getting in or if it's trapped in the yard living under our shed. Point is I can't set up the camera. Last year I thought it was correct, took 1000 plus photo's of the bush moving in the wind...wind had to be all of 2 mph. Last night I set it up, clear area, set for less sensitivity...took max of I have no idea as it looks like a 2000 photos all the same. one I have is the same ( looks right ) under your left arm in your video back row, or from my view, back row far right. Any suggestions ...thanks
Is first try setting the camera up indoors 6” away from a wall (or in a dark closet). Turn the camera on and see if it takes photos. This will have the camera in a controlled environment where you can be sure nothing is triggering the camera. If it still takes non stop photos the camera is more than likely faulty
@@HuntingFarmerOfficial I have reset it , outside now. I looked at the photo count it as 2914 photo's taken. will check it again tomorrow...as it's strapped up around her plants...I'm thinking mouse now as the bites look rather small. Thanks, will let you know how it turns out.
I have the Vikeri M9 and the battery does not even last a day? I went thru 3 sets of batteries. I believe the Manufacture says with battery it shoud last about 5 months?? I am using alkaline batteries that came with camera, and am thinking using Lithium batteries or could it be my settings that is messing with consumption of battery? Appreciate any feedback. Thanks
I want to use a Trail Camera as a vehicle security camera 1) will the motion detector work through a windscreen 2) instead of the 8 batteries can I get an auto electrician to hard wire it to my vehicle's 12v battery.
Unfortunately glass can create quite the challenge for most, if not all trail cameras (especially at night). The 12v from the vehicle would work with any camera with a 12v external power port (there are a few cameras that only support 6v).
@@HuntingFarmerOfficial Could you please test the: Solar 4K Ceyomur CY95 40MP Trail Camera with WiFi from inside a vehicle (through the windscreen) and post it on your channel. I have a cellucore 20 trail camera and I have paid for cellular through verizon. It has all green lights but doesn't take pics even when I walk in front of it. SD card is formatted, new batteries, power is on
Thanks for the useful presentation. I have the following problem. It's about detection range of the PIR sensor. The camera capture the image only if something moves within about 3-4 meters, no more. According to the specification, this camera is declared for a detection range of 25 meters. I have tried many settings with no success. Could it be a low battery? I tested the voltage with a multimeter (8 x AA alkaline) which shows about 10.6 volts.
Hi - great video... lots of useful tips, but I have an issue not covered... would be interested to know if you've come across it and if so, how to fix it.... Very simply the batteries are all new and the settings are all double checked. It worked for months successfully in by garden taking videos of fox behaviour then just stopped taking videos. The issue seems to be that the camera's clock just freezes ...going in and out of the clock setting option without completely exiting the menu system seems fine as the clock advances between going into the clock setting option... but if I completely exit the menu and set the camera to live mode, the clock just stops... I know this because I set the clock, check it's ticking by going in and out of the set clock option, then exit the menus and set the camera to live mode. When I come back to it after a few hours or next day, it has taken no videos at all and when I go to clock set in the menu, it is still at the time I set it to before setting to live mode. I've never heard of a digital computer clock freezing before and nothing has changed since it last worked. I've tried setting it back to default settings but this just rests all the menu options to default and to German as the language. Set it back up again and still the same problem. The brand is Maginon and model is WK 3 HD, purchased in the UK about seven years ago. It's not new and not very high end, but everything working but the clock is very strange!
I have a brand new Ceyomur CY95 and have charged it to 100% and have AA batteries in it but every time I attempt to look at the photos or videos the trai CSM says low battery. This is also a solar trail cam that sits in sunlight.
I have a G600 trail camera. No longer have the owners manual, and I can't find the answer to this simple question. I know how to move the memory card to the PC for upload and viewing, but am I crazy, or can I not view photos or videos on the back screen of the camera?
Really, I only have a couple issues. 1. No or very low audio. 2. Time and Date stamp quit working randomly. For audio, I am tempted to drill a bit larger hole through the cover, and expose the microphone more. Time and date, I have no clue what to think...unless the squirrels are getting in there to mess with me. :D Thank Dave! Have a Happy Easter!
Thanks for watching Paul. No doubt certain cameras have better audio than others. The resetting of the time/date can be frustrating. I have a cam or two that does that seemingly for no reason
Hi i was wondering if you know how to get and upload firmware update for ceyomur CY95. Its gone abit funny with recording videos. Do you ever have them lose PIR sensitivity over time?? My two Vikeri cameras (E2's) after about a year, don't trigger unless something the size of the space shuttle wanders by it.
Thanks for these! Mine was working great until a few nights ago, and now it captures me when I go out and put the snacks in front of the camera but it hasn't captured any critters for several nights. Not a single video. It's def turned on and has new lithium batteries (your suggestion) which are 100% full (like I mentioned it captures me walking in front of it). I've triple checked the hours I have it set between, the sensitivity is on high (since we mostly have raccoons back there, and they don't even trigger the motion detector lights half of the time so high sensitivity is a must). Also the snacks are gone so we know the critters have been there. Also I have it pointed at exactly the same angle as a week ago when it was working fine. What else could it be?
Did you change the sd cards or are you using a different size or brand of sd card? I’m stumped why it captures you (in the daytime I presume) but not critters at night. Make sure the night IR setting is in Auto. Maybe bring the camera inside and do a closet test. Turn it on in the closet (or dark room) and see if you can trigger it
Do you have a video on solar panel battery packs for a trail cam? I feel like mine is not working properly. I dont know if my battery selection in the settings should be on alkaline or night settings. It's the creative xp 4g trail camera.
The battery selection in the menu should affect the cameras performance (the menu setting simply allow the battery meter on the camera to read more accurately). I prefer the WingHome solar panels th-cam.com/video/2y5zdp8yzLQ/w-d-xo.html

Your videos have helped me tremendously but I haven't heard anything about the problem I am experiencing. Any idea why my trail camera never gives an accurate battery life remaining? New batteries will go in, next morning it will say 60% or so, then that night it will say 95%.... Edit: perhaps the temperature affects it?
Thanks for watching. You’re correct, temperature will effect battery life. I highly recommend high quality batteries (energizer ultimate lithium if you can afford them)
any suggestions for losing your keychain with the keys to your trailcam's padlocks and python locks? out of the blue, my set of keys is missing. i'm sure they'll turn up, but i've looked everywhere. frikkin python locks up here are over $30 canadian, and, the stores never seem to even have them anymore. fingers crossed they turn up, as i'm dreading taking the milwaukee cordless angle grinder out with me next time.
@@HuntingFarmerOfficial YES!! I found them today. I was never TOO worried, as i figured they would turn up. But i just took some boxes of stuff to give to the needy the other day. And the last time i remember seeing my keys, i tossed them to my pack, which the top was open. I figured they had went inside. But when i checked the pack the next time, they weren't in it. I looked all around and couldn't find them. I then realized, that the pack was leaning up against where the boxes were. I suspected that they might have missed my pack and could have possibly ended up in a box. I called the place where i dropped off the boxes. Two calls, i was put on hold and they never came back on. Third call, they said they would look and call me back, by the end of that day, whether they found them or not. No call back. Went out to the garage today and felt through the pack, again, for the umpteenth time, even though i knew they weren't there. There was one more box there, full of miscellaneous crap. I decided to thoroughly sort through it, just for something to do. I was still waiting to hear on the boxes i gave away, for confirmation, one way or the other. Emptied several things out of this crap box, and when i moved some 90 degree abs fittings, a familiar jingle, as the keys fell out of one. Woo-hoo.
@@HuntingFarmerOfficial and it was a learning lesson. I had went through all my python locks, organizing them. Matched up all the keys with their locks. And from that, learned that i have two matching pairs, with identical keys. Which works out alright, as i'll keep them paired with cams that i place near each other. And also learned that one python lock is missing, and one cam also. So it may have been forgotten somewhere in the woods, or it's misplaced at home somehow. But i had paired all the matching keys together, and hadn't separated them again. i usually keep two batches of the keys. So now, they are once again separated into two groups, so one will always be at home.
My moultrie hates me! AAAAAAAH! I use energizer max. Duracell some reason won't power it. It sets up fine but just never works. I've put 3 different new right out the package SD cards. I do long formats at first but usually just the quick format. I will have to check settings. My stealths and spypoints are awesome
Wow!!! First problem is what's been driving us crazy. My boy just got a lynx in his cam last night , but all 1 second clips instead of 30. Thanks for the vid!
I appreciate you watching! Glad I could help 👍
I appreciate you watching. Enjoy your camera 👍
I appreciate you watching 👍
@@PlushiePoogle for that situation the a/c adapter and cable should work great 👍
Great vid Dave.
Thanks for watching and sharing your experience 👍
Great video Dave.2 more Problems that I have run into r not using a Grade 10 SD card .Most the time the higher Dollar Trail camera need them .The other one I have had a few times is the camera not taking pictures at night.I found that the filter is plugged. So if u go in a dark room & turn the lights off for 10 to 15 seconds then turn them back on.Do that about 5 to 8 times.Your camera may take pictures at night again 👍
Good advice Pat. I appreciate you sharing your experience. You run more trail cameras than most people I know 😁👍
Thanks for posting a comprehensive troubleshooting video!
I’m not sure what’s happening with your cameras, but I would be suspicious of your batteries.

Excellent trouble shooting tips bud ! Thanks for sharing . You’ve just saved more than one person the frustration of a trail cam not working right
Haha! Hopefully. Thanks for watching Wyatt. I appreciate it 👍
I have an inexpensive trail cam, a WOSPORTS Trail Cam.
Thanks for watching. I hope your camera captures some great stuff 👍
Help? Thank you.
Thanks for watching. What make/model camera?
Really useful video Dave, thanks for this. I have a similar problem to one of your fixes in as much as I have a full charge, lights when triggered but randomly records activity. Is this likely to be a SD card formatting issue or a set up issue? I am running a usogood tc91.
Some great information, thanks. We came across an issue where the camera resets the date. Even though the camera said the batteries were good, this turned out to be a battery issue too
Thanks for watching. Bad batteries can cause many headaches with trail cameras.
Thanks for watching! It’s appreciated. It’s sad when a camera dies but unfortunately it happens 🙁
Thanks a million! That really helps me ! I will turn it OFF for full day and night viewing here in wild Idaho.
Very helpful. Thanks for giving us the batteries to use, very helpful.
Great tips! I've found that if my batteries are showing less than 100%, I have less than 1 week of pictures left. The next download I swap them out.
Thanks for watching Mr Gus. I appreciate it 👍
1:18 I had to repair 12V version, with more complicated problems...
Thanks! Formatting the sd was the solution! Erik (Holland)
One of my Browing Recon Force Extreme will not turn, even with new batteries.

You have great trail cam videos. I have 2 Campark T45-1 cameras. I have good batteries, proper spec SD card, and formatted SD card. I have a question about several trailcams that ALL were destroyed at the same time, not to go into a lot of useless info but we know who did it & why what we don't know is how. I found something about lazers & security cameras (keeping them steady for 4-5 mins etc) do you know/think this could also be true with out trail cams?
Unfortunately I’ve never heard of that nor have any experience of cameras being ruined that way. Sorry for your loss. Sounds like a bad situation

10.6 volts for s low and could cause issues! Hopefully that’s your problem (easy fix)
That is strange. I’m not sure why it’s doing that?? Unfortunately it’s possible that the camera has an electric issue that can’t be repaired?

Do you ever have them lose PIR sensitivity over time?? My two Vikeri cameras (E2's) after about a year, don't trigger unless something the size of the space shuttle wanders by it.
I have not experienced that. It’s interesting that it looses detection over time. I’m wondering if a clouded PIR lens/cover is to blame??
Turn it on in the closet (or dark room) and see if you can trigger it
My trial cam won’t pickup motion when I’m setting it up. Only time it picks up motion is when I’m right beside it. Any ideas?
How is the battery life on these Gardepro E6’s? Ive seen a variety of mixed reviews
I don’t have experience with the E6 (WiFi) cameras but the E5’s and this Meidase have been great for me! 👍
Hi there,
I have a uway NT50b and after not using it for a while when I turn it on the camera is fine but the remote is stuck on the start up menu, do you have any suggestions or is it possible I can buy another remote,
Regards Adrian.
Unfortunately I’m not familiar with that model. 🙁
Great video but I have a passcode issue. JOH Javelin M1 mini trail cam...I've never changed the security passcode intentionally, but somehow I did it while it was mounted on the tree and I didn't have the zero turn to stand on like I did the day I mounted the two cameras, so I was struggling to reach the camera that was right at 9' off the ground. It's stuck on the enter passcode screen and nothing I've tried will work. Everyone says 0000, 1234, 4321, 9999... none work. I sent JOH an email asking for a solution. I have the proof of purchase so it's not like I saw it in the woods and helped myself to it. Any idea what a solution might be?
Great review! Tanks for sharing! Have a great day!
Thanks for watching. 👍
Your videos have helped me tremendously but I haven't heard anything about the problem I am experiencing. When I try to view the video on my cell phone, a circle appears on the screen and it is counting a percentage. I believe it is "buffering" but I don't know how to stop this from happening. The video plays for a few second and the circle appears again. Then when it is done counting, the video plays again for a few seconds and continues this practice throughout the video. How can I overcome this problem? Thank you for any help you can give me. Michigan Resident
Thanks for watching! It sounds like a connection issue? I’m not 100% sure what’s happening! Sorry 🙁
I came across this vid trying to trouble shoot why at night time all my videos are whiteouts. I have a Wildgame innovations model 12i17W2. It works good day time. Camera is straight out of the box. It's a couple of years I have it, just never really had time to set it up. And, no manual :( I saw your vid the issue is not batteries, they are at 90%, what could it be?
Unfortunately I’m not sure what happening when it’s all white? Seems like it’s an IR filter problem??
@@HuntingFarmerOfficial I am not sure either. Its a first for me, installing a trail cam. I have seen hundreds of videos on wildlife, captured moments, vids. I went and got one, but its nothing of what I expected it.
I think I will stick to watching vids on here instead. Too complex.
Fix Vikeri 1520p trail camera sensitivity failure?
You just stopped me from destroying my trail cam, Thanks for the info.
Haha. Thanks for watching 😁👍
I think that last method might help: The machete slash. I think I'll do that.
Haha! I appreciate you watching 👍
Great video Dave, I hate to admit but I have not turned my camera on more than I like to admit, lol
Haha! It happens 😁
Thanks for watching Joey 👍
I have a Vickeri model A1 trail camera. The up/down buttons and the ok button are not working. There is no problem taking photos or videos at night, just moving from one video to another and playing the video. Any thoughts, thanks.
I’m not sure what’s happening. It’s possible the camera’s buttons went bad and unfortunately there is no easy fix for that.
Thanks for the quick response. This is the second trail camera that has failed me not lasting but a short time.@@HuntingFarmerOfficial
I have an issue where some of the AVI files will not open on my Mac. Some will, some won’t. The icons next to the file name are slightly different as well.
Unfortunately that is more than likely a computer compatibility issue (nothing to do with the trail camera). I’m not a Mac guy so I doubt that I can help, but I do prefer using the VLC media player to view AVI files 👍
Great tips for trouble shooting, Dave.
Thank you John! Have a great day 👍
Yep can't open file, take pictures but just black, thanks man would try your tips
Thanks for watching 👍
I have a bolyguard trail camera and what happens is when I set the camera for a night it only shots one video and then it goes off, you think the problem is from the battery or something is wrong in the settings? Thanks for the help
Thanks for watching. I’m not sure what’s happening but I doubt it’s an issue with the settings because it does take that one video?
Very good tips, Save a lot of headaches!
Thank you. I appreciate you taking the time to watch and comment 👍
Thanks for the helpfull video! One problem I could not solve was that my trail camera randomly stops filming during the day. It usually happens when it has been filming for a day and one night on full battery and the right SD Card. It stopped after filming the 300 th video (30 sec long). It's a VDS Online DL001. Could you have an idea of what caused the problem?
I would make sure you haven’t maxed out on available space on you SD card.
Set it to loop
PLEASE HELP I just purchased a terra cell camera and it takes pictures but they seem random. I tried moving in the view of the camera to see if it would take picture of this, but it did not. Then hours later I was sent pictures of the space with nothing happening. Any ideas? I really appreciated your video (s) by the way. Thank you
Thanks for watching my videos. Unfortunately I don’t have any experience with the Terra. 🙁
Good video! thank you! :) Just in case you ever experienced this issue: My browning is stuck in USB MODE (USB connected message in screen all time). USB connector is fully disconnected, but the camera is stuck in that message. Maybe some of your readers have this issue too?... thank you all in advance! Javi (from Spain).
Thanks for watching and sharing your experience
I have a wildgame camera that shows err message. Batteries are good and SD card is ok. I’ve talked to a company representative and they went through some trouble shooting and nothing they suggested worked. Any suggestions? Thanks
Unfortunately I’m not real familiar with the Wildgame cameras. It would seem it’s an sd card issue. I would double check the card, maybe try a brand new card in the camera? (Make sure the card isn’t too big. Maybe cameras have a maximum recommended size )
a 10 minute video that can be summed up by 'check your batteries'
Great video but I recently got the stealth cam gmax32 no glo worked fine did the settings put it out comeback a week later open it can’t move through the menu can’t see any pictures so I take the sd card out and put it back in trail camera says da card error what should I do?
Try to format card on PC, uncheck quick format and use FAT32 in "File System" box then after that run format on exFAT return setting to FAT32.
my mera isn't connecting to my new phone, trying pairing it via Bluetooth but nothing. followed all instructions but still nothing connecting.any advice?
I have a Serern E2 trail cam and I forgot my password. Can you help me unlock my cam?
Hay dave. I just bought a vikeri 4k camera. Put new batterys in it and had its sd card already in it.. went and set it up for videos, for a 30 second video. When i turn it on to start recording it will record for 30 seconds in black and white. During day time. After it records that 30 second video it wont record and more. Ive changed the time to a different time and still the same thing. Wont record anymore. I dont understand. No color at all during daylight hours. If i set it to record for 15 secs. It will do it and then stop. Nothing else. I let it run for 45 minutes and only that 15 second video is all it recorded. Everything is brand new. Please help.
Sorry, I’m not familiar with that brand but I would make sure you have the camera in “detection mode”?
what about when the camera won't turn on at all? I left it in my closet for the season, replaced batteries even plugged it up and nothing.
Unfortunately it’s possible the camera’s electronic circuit board failed. Seems weird to happen in storage but stranger things have happened. 🙁
Great answer you got,,🥴...I was looking to ask the exact same question...."Geez, I guess your lectronics coulda took uh dump."...yeah I think we both could've done without that kind of answer...
Mine's a Wosoda G300. a little more than half the screen is white. The other side is somekind of scrambling. It was always good. Just this time it gave me this trouble. Any idea what i should do?
I would begin with new batteries. I highly recommend Energizer ultimate lithium batteries 👍
h45 trailcamwont allow me to access menu, there is just a lit blank screen .allbatteries are new and energizer ones .but i just cant get into menu to set it up
Great info brother
Thanks for watching 👍
Wow! That stinks! 😂 Hope they show up for ya. Thanks for watching. I appreciate it 👍
@@HuntingFarmerOfficial YES!!
Woo-hoo.
@@zzz7zzz9 glad you found them!! 👍👍
