Thank you for giving the info about the dual lane not being on most laptops. You just saved me from wasting money on the X10 since I have a 2023 M2 Macbook Pro which seems to not support dual lane USB. I had assumed it would since the Thunderbolt ports are technically capable of much more, but I guess that's only for Thunderbolt peripherals. Also, I REALLY appreciate that your videos are only about 3minutes. Quick and to the point. So many other youtubers bloat their vids with too much, and I have to watch them on 2x speed so I don't feel like I'm having to invest too much time to get the info. I really appreciate your concise style. Makes me feel happy to watch another one of your vids right afterward.
Amazing video, the x9 is €56 cheaper here compared to x9 Pro , plus I want it to store steam library and won’t care about its longevity or durability as all the games are redownloadable anyway. For any other purpose I would go with X10 pro since I’ve 2x2
Thank you. I was on the femce between the X9 and the X9 Pro. Going for the Pro now. I only have an external drive to keep decades of family pictures and documents and even though the HDD I have has never failed, it's getting quite dated.
Best product reviews!!! Thanks! X9 Pro about to be ordered, after looking at your reviews for the Sandisk Professional and Sandisk Blade Professional. The blade is very interesting, but next time! & your Sandisk Pro v. Blade review - A+
@@adamtalkstech Well! I double backed and pulled the trigger for the Sandisk BLADE 4TB - - Currently with a 2019 macbook pro . . . . figured it is worth the few extra bucks to try the new “zip drive” and if it disappoints, will push back for the Crucial X9 Pro. Did I get it right that the Blade includes “with DRAM and TLC”? Seems the only downside of the BLADE is the larger size - - but the option to swap drives is too interesting . . . UNLESS there is another drawback or plus to the Crucial X9 Pro or the Sandisk Professional. Did I get that right? To me, a little larger enclosure is worth it to be able to grow and detach. I prediction is that Sandisk will keep this format for a while - looks pretty slick. Will report back
I found in my country X9 way cheaper than X9 Pro. But your video was exactly what I was looking for, very concise, clear and good information! The only question I have is where did you find that the X9 is QLC and the other two TLC... But it makes sense for the X9 to be slower, the write speeds are not even advertised on Crucial's website.
@@adamtalkstech Crucial provides a free license to Acronis. Western Digital does not. Cloning software costs almost as much as the drive. Easy choice. Crucial is made by Micron. WD absorbed Sandisk. The last Sandisk I tried was crap. That was a few years ago. Before that they were better. I have several of them that have run for years.
This really really depends on what sales are currently happening as x9 Pro and x10 Pro are $5 difference, even though my mac doesn't support x10. Might as well spend the scrums for future reference 🤷🏻
hi Adam. Just a question from me who know nothing about computer stuff. My laptop is said to have 2 thunderbolt 4 C type and one 1 SuperSpeed USB Type-A 10Gbps signaling rate. which one do you think better ...9 Pro or 10 Pro? (i just confused with 3.2 Gen 2 jargon)
Hi Adam! Awesome video! Thanks for the comparison. I am currently using the same 14" M1 MacBook Pro as you, and may be planning to build a custom windows desktop in future. I currently have access to buying the X9 Pro in 1TB for US$94.00 and the X10 Pro in 2TB for US$163. I understand you said there's not much difference in speed unless the device can support dual lane speed. However, with the price I've mentioned, which would you recommend for future-proofing and value for money? Thank you
I have both and if you are working with video editing you are really going to notice the difference between then. I''d get the X10 for video. Saying that I'll buy another X9 for photo storage.
Thanks for the video and keeping it so concise/clear! Is there any info on the TBW specs? When I look on their site it just effectively says "see the spec sheet" but the spec sheet also says that. Would be really handy to know since my workflow requires some pretty big + frequent transfers. Also I'm assuming that USB4 ports on a laptop doesn't also include the spec of 2x2?
Are the x9 pro and x10 pro both equally reliable and good for long term? I'm on a macbook pro so the fast speeds of the x10 pro don't work for me anyways. At the same time I really want to get something that's durable - not like my current sandisk ssd, which is starting to break apart...
I'm not sure if my three-year-old HP Envy supports the USB 3.2 Gen 2 Dual Lane you mentioned (Crucial X10). Assuming it doesn't, I am still considering getting an X10 Pro rather than the X9 Pro, as it's just $10 more. I assume the X10 Pro will work on my older laptop just as well as the X9. Thoughts?
For a Mac user which would you recommend if x9 pro and x10 pro are the same price? Since Mac doesn’t have 3.2 2, wondering if I should stay with the X9 Pro, thanks!

Thanks so much for the kind words! Yeah there’s some weird thing about the way that Dual lane works that doesn’t play nicely with Thunderbolt.
@@adamtalkstech so the x10 pro doesnt work on a Mac Mino M1?
Brilliant. Within a minute you answered my question. Thank you!

Clean, easy, informative and well produced. Keep up the good work, bro!

Nice straight-forward review!
Thanks Ken. What ssd should I look at next?
A great and clear video, should come as a mandatory watch before buying any of these :D

Just installed a Crucial internal 1TB BX500. Free cloning software made it easy. Dramatic increase in speed.
What software did you use? I really like macrium reflect

Yep the price is always changing.
Great comparison btwn the 3, Would the ipad m4 pro actually get full read/write performance from the x10?
No, it only supports 10GBPS at USB 3, you have to use USB 4 of TB3/4 to get the 40GBPS

It works, just don't get the faster speeds
