- This is the new Porsche 911 Turbo S built on the 992 generation platform. Running the 3.8 litre turbocharged flat six cylinder engine developing 650hp 590lb ft torque and all wheel drive that propels the new Porsche Turbo S from 0-60 in 2.5 seconds and over 210mph! I don’t like the look of the sports tailpipes, the standard ones look better. Same on the Carrera S as well. Everything else is perfect.

Right they should make the oval ones standard and the square ones for the sports exhaust
ThunderTiger0801 Or just leave the same tips for the sports exhaust. If I was specing one I’d leave the standard exhaust and buy an aftermarket exhaust for cheaper but leave the tips.

Cars and Sneakers Is does if you’ve ever owned a 911 Turbo. You dont need full throttle to outrun the cops. Partial throttle will in fact do the trick.

I'm not a Porsche fan, but over the years of being obsessed with cars I've gained an appreciation for them because of their performance. This is by far the nicest looking 911 model and they do keep getting better every generation

im so glad I change my 992 after 3000km for 600lt. Porsche is good daily but not proper sport car with their rear wheel steering:)

I have had one on order since before lockdown so this report in righthand drive is very welcome. Have to admit that standard exhaust is far better looking than the Sports exhaust
Finally it sounds like they got the engine sound right on the inside of the car, instead of sounding like a muffled vacuum. I’m not a fan of how generally large the car has grown over the years, but that’s how the story is written with safety and technology built in I suppose. Still, I’d die for one of these.
I like the sound. I think today people hate turbo cars too much, like it's ridiculous the amount of hate for cars like 488 vs 458. Get over it, it's still a sports car and it sounds good. Much much better than what an average person drives.
Another great review, James. This 992 911 Turbo S truly is something to behold. All the good reviewers including yourself and Sam have nothing but praise for this car. To be honest, I can't really see where there are openings for fault picking. I would say, in summary, if you have 200k to spend on a ballistic missile of a tarmac destroyer that can daily until you drop, then you cannot get better than this. Well done, mate!

Two additional things to note about the 911: (1) the visibility is excellent (a very underrated and rarely discussed quality); and (2) you can fit your golf clubs in the back with the seats down. You can’t say that about a lot of other sports cars!

I think you are the first guy online to review this car - job well done! I've always been a fan of the 911 Turbo not just because of the power but the way they place that spoiler on the rear end. But my personal pick has to be the convertible instead of the coupe. Drop the top down on that bad boy and you have one of the SEXIEST rear ends of any car on the road today. It's difficult to describe just how good looking these are when they pass you on the freeway. My pick for color would be the bright silver hands down - it suits this car really well, but black, dark red, dark blue are also great, never mind SCREAMING YELLOW. At $275K fully tricked out these certainly aren't cheap but you get that money back in a car that not only performs great as a daily driver but lets you throw some duffel bags in the back seat and use as a weekend cruiser/getaway vehicle. Hard to believe as well that this has more horsepower than a BMW M760, and that one has a V12 under the hood.
In my opinion Porsche is the ultimate manufacturer, there quality from interior to suspension to engine is 2nd to none ..... there loyalty is to customers isn’t matched in the auto world ... what I find funny is when social media decided to glorify the GT3RS lol and allowed dealers to make 100+ over sticker and people to spend ghat ridiculous amount and they didn’t go to the track lmao ... I’m a fan man to Porsche for 50 years and wittinesed porches become better and better when other manufacturers skimped to save money Porsche went balls deep in quality .. in my eyes the best all around supercar is the Turbo S the only other super car that comes close is the R8 V10+ ... what I find funny are kids on social media that don’t know that the Turbo S is faster then the GT3RS and GT2RS in 0-62 and 1/4 mile plus I higher top speed they don’t understand that those GT cars are track focused and faster around a track then the Turbo s but that it .... the AWD and the gearing and the daily comfort in my eyes make the Turbo S the best all around super car

Great review, your enthusiasm for the car gives a good feel of what it might be like, if I could, I would go out now and test drive one to buy! Haven’t had a 911 since around 2000 so it’s been a while and have always been a fan. Like you adhered to, it’s the bullet proof engineering, sheer performance capability and versatility of the 911 Turbo that makes it unique.
This these revved up to 9k i would sell my kidneys to get one.

This 992 Turbo S is an awesome car and at the top of the model line. It has the performance of the GT models with more driver friendly manners. Some may like the interior features of the 992 but I chose a 991.2 when I finally bought a Carrera in January. I prefer the old school analog gauges over the digital dash in the 992. The entire driver interface if more like that of a Panamera than traditional 911.

The 964 turbo and 997 turbo are the best looking 911 turbo's.
