  • Hi there. My name is Morgan Rysdon and I'm an Alexander Technique teacher. Today I'd like to talk to you about where you can leave your hands when you're standing. So many of us don't know what to do with our hands. Are we using them TOO much? Not enough? Well, in this video I will explain more about what to do with your hands while you are standing.       You're so welcome Andrea! Yes, so many of us feel we need to do "something" with our hands, but really we can just let them hang by our sides. 😊 The more you practice this the more you'll find it easier to do. The other positive is if you're stressed, with your hands down by your sides it will encourage your shoulders to drop as well (which for most folks have a tendency to lift when we're feeling overly stressed).       @@aliviasattva371 😂 Honestly, you have no idea how many times people have told me they feel awkward and/or uncomfortable with what to do with their arms/hands while talking to people, waiting in line, etc. So you are definitely(!) not the only one and I suspect you won't be the last.       Yes, it can be hard to manage what others take for granted day in and day out. The good news is there are so many free resources to help people cope and we can appreciate everyone's differences no matter how awkward or strange it may seem to us. Thanks for your comment! 😊
