Levi's 1947 LVC "JAPAN" 501 men's jeans measurements after first wash.

Levi's 1947 501XX LVC jeans, measurements after one 30min soak in cold water and two weeks of wearing. Made in Japan, Size 36X32L. If you are thinking about buying keep in mind this is STF (Shrink to Fit) selvedge denim jeans even though Levi's does not indicate it in their website description. Here is all the measurements again:
Waist - 18"
Front Rise - 11.7"
Across the knee - 9.25"
At the bottom Hem - 8.5"

for 1947 go 1 size up in the waist and maybe even 2 sizes can work. Don't even dream of buying your regular waist in this cut of lvc 501 1947 stf. they run proper small in the waist. u have to ignore the tag size. I got raw lcv 1966 waist 32 and for 1947 i got waist 33 but wishing i got the 34 now. ill just have to get on with a super snug waist fits but a little tight than i would like. now imagine i got my usual 32 that would have been money down the drain

Ask the seller for actual measurements. I’d always size up one size. I thought I was a 34 in most jeans until I actually measured them and most were 36. Vanity sizing makes it hard. I find LVCs are pretty accurate to tag but you never know. Bought some 34s and they were actually 34 so too tight 🤣

Totally agree, unfortunately big brands such as Levi's or Lee don't provide any measurements.

Not by much, I would say by 1/4 of an inch, the same for across the knee. It also depend on how cold the water you soak jeans in - the hotter is the water the more they shrink. But lengthwise they shrink a lot - by almost 3 inches. So the best way is - after soaking you put them on while they still wet and wear them till they dry. That is the best method with an STF jeans. Hope it helps.

My 511 is 34" so I've got my 1947 LVC in 36 and after initial soaking fit e perfect. So in your case you should go with size 34. With STF you have to be careful though....don't let them dry completely, put them on while damp, if they still loose you can do it again in warmer water. Good luck!.

I would say you should get W30-L32 1947 501 pretty much like STF jeans mostly will shrink lengthwise. I will post 1947 LVC after the first wash review soon. Thank you for watching.

You should get at least one size up, so in your case 36 or even higher. Keep in mind they are STF jeans so they shrink a lot especially lengthwise. I will do review soon after my first wash. Thank you.
