This video really impacted me because, last summer, I camped off my bike with almost the exact same setup (ENO hammock, blanket, JetBoil, boil-bag meals and coffee) in almost the exact same environment (campground in the woods by a river). It brought back good memories watching this video.
We started hammock camping when backpacking and getting tired of setting up tents and not sleeping well as a ground dweller. Light weight, packable and easy to set up. Love em.
I really enjoy your videos. Relaxed feeling, very informative and even though as a Finnish guy living in Finland I doubt I'll ever see these woods, I just love seeing all the camping spots and the nature back there in the states. Keep up the great work!
Field and Stream makes a nice real pillow that is very packable. I've had mine for years. I also sleep in a hammock. I haven't slept in a bed for over 2 years.
That was the fastest 20 minutes ever! When you were "wrapping up" the video, I checked the time left because I was thinking you were about to show us more. Great content, normally after 13 minutes I am scrolling for other videos, but you kept my interest. Thanks for sharing. Godspeed
Little storage type locker in a campsite that´s a new one for me, nice footage and landscape views. Shout out to you and your followers from this little rural community somewhere in Mexico.
They're called Bear Boxes and help keep animals out of human food and scented items. If a bear gets into human food too often, they'll euthanize them (very summarized explanation).
So much great camping advice here for people! I love cooking this way, fine dining in the outdoors. I’ll second getting a quilt for extra warmth, I use the same one. And agame changing pillow for me has been the Nemo Fillo after hearing Dork in the Road recco it. The size of inflatable but the better comfort of a foam. Loved watching! Reminded me of my camp next to the Truckee River. Ride safe!
Staci, another great video, love seeing you "out and about", however, I would recommend trying out a Warbonnet Blackbird (BB XL) or El Dorado. Or even a Hennessy Expedition Asym Zip. I think you'd enjoy either one of those three a little better than being turned into a human taco in that Wise Owl or even that ENO. you get what you pay for. Amazon is NOT the place to get quality, durable camping gear. Guys if you're gonna use the gear on a routine basis, buy once, cry once. The hammocks I mention have built-in bug nets, in the case of the Warbonnets you can remove the bugnet or pull it back if you dont want one between you and the big blue. And besides buying from the companies I mentioned supports American cottage industries, Wise Owl....mmm not so much! But at the end of the day it's your $$$ so, you do you.
Definitely a cool camp spot, something about the waters edge like that is so peaceful. I luv my 2p eno as well; an also hav a cheap 1p that I grabbed at Walmart years ago that is still hanging strong. Great video as always.keep on keeping on✌🏼
As a cinnamon roll connoisseur I very much want to try that place. Perfect end to another great video. Thank you for giving me lots to think about as far as gear. Kudos.
Hmmm, tough choice. Another hour of riding and Ramen noodles - or juicy steak with onions and mushrooms? I will definitely go for the latter. Thanks for showing us what can be done with minimal kit. Cheers from Alabama
Should you buy a budget hammock or an expensive hammock? Neither when you can make your own! Not too difficult if you have access to a sewing machine, and you can make it exactly how you want for all of $20. Great video as always!
Slow and easy sis i travel solo also try to get camped way before dark so i can kick it and cook in the daylight i do alot of 1 pot meals great vids thanks for taking me along see ya out there somewere
Great video as always! For us moto campers in the Southeast, I'll throw out the Lawson Hammock as a great option too. Built-in bug net(for all those mosquitos and noseeums) as well as spreader bars so you don't feel like you're in a cocoon all night. Definitely on the pricey side, but it's the last hammock you'll ever need to buy!
Staci, that canyon road was gorgeous. Great review on the new equipment but I did think you were gonna do a major butt plant in the beginning when that hammock strap slipped 😂. Thanks again!
Another great video! Now you have me wanting to add a camp trip to my bike outings this year. Keep the content coming. I do enjoy and appreciate your talent.
Wow, I haven't been to Poudre Canyon in years. Thanks for the ride along. I may have to come to Colorado a couple days early on the way to Sturgis this year.
Rad! This definitely inspired me to start riding again! Been looking for a bike to just go on long adventures with and camp. Glad I came across your channel!
OMG I had just taken a drink when you called your bike Lemmi the Lemon. That was hilarious. I’ve been out of country and catching up. What happened to the Pan Am? Awesome show
Looks like such a beautiful area. I love hammock camping and appreciate the reviews of different equipment. The forgot your pants review was one of the funniest things I've ever seen and I suppose the show must go on so awesome job!
Voo doo ranger hells yeah girl! Best beer! Looks like a blast. I hike and camp but really want to get into moto camping. Wish I lived close to Colorado! Missouri isn't the greatest for camping😢. Thanks for the fun and informative video!
I absolutely love watching your vehicle videos you're so wonderful to watch thank you for sharing and ride safe and keep the rubber side down in the seat side up
Another cool thing is that the ENO hammock straps are rated to 500 lbs or something, and I used them to drag my dirt bike out of a deep ravine I slid into and towed a friends bike home, and they held up great.
Thank you for yet another great video Staci! I just finished building my Africa Twin AS and am starting to build my camping gear for my first multi day moto camping adventure later this year. Your videos are always a pleasure to watch and your demeanor is awesome. I believe The Chive has a couple shirts that would have been fitting for this adventure. "No pants are the best pants" and "Pants are bullshit." Stay safe and hopefully I'll cross paths with you one day.
That area is some of the most beautiful in the country. I went there in the mid 90's to climb Grey rock mountain. Then climbed the 3rd flatiron in Boulder. One of my favorite trips. Only way it could have been better is if I made the trip on my Harley. Great video 👍
I'm lucky the Cache la Poudre is only a half hour ride from where I live. I've ridden it several times and for some reason managed to stop at The Mishawaka to refresh myself. The Mountain House chicken and dumplings are not too bad either and the Jet Boil is darn fine tool. I'll have to get the pan set up. I just burn water currently for the dehydrated grub and coffee. It is a pretty good stretch to get to Cameron Pass but a fun rip for sure. Nice video and pants are over rated.
@@ridetofood they unfortunately don't have a storefront in Evergreen, so I can't chat with them about what I need to get before I drop the $$$. Maybe you can work your local girl influencer magic and get them to hook you up.

Great video, I slept next to a river on the Blue Ridge Parkway in 2020, must've peed about 3 times during the night, something about running water, next time cut your steak into thin strips and it should cook faster.
Not sure quite how hot your cooking system gets but try using a fire starting log . Break it into a small piece and drop it on your stoves ash catcher. A little lighter fuel or hand sanitizer on it will get it flaming . Gets a lot hotter than any alcohol can ive used and cooks meat quick as a home stove on medium to high temp. Cooked a few steaks the other day on mine . BIG difference between that setup versus the alcohol cans I was using before hand. Both work good just something to have in your back pocket !
i'm not debating that your setup did or didn't work well. just another method to have in the arsenal is all and it's just as easy and takes up less valuable space. threw that out since u mentioned how long it took to cook. an idea just in case, maybe not for you maybe for one of your viewers similar to me lol@@ridetofood
Looked in the description but didnt found it. What jacket with camo are you wearing looks comfy with the belly pouch :) Hammock camping is so great. you need to know a little how to set it up but then its great you are of the ground. Plus you can sit in it very well.
Oh man that looks like so much fun. I have so many questions on camping gear, finding MC friendly campsite etc. I guess I have to start doing my homework. My wife would never camp but I think I would probably do a weekend solo getaway camping trip. You said middle of May, assuming this is a current video, I presume you meant middle of April. I've been using a Kammock Roo for several years now. Pretty similar to the Eno. I've definitely gotten luck a couple of times being able to find a place to set it up, including once between two dicey trees in the Wallowas. I do use a rain fly most of the time (an Eno Housefly) because aside from some extra warmth, it saves me from waking up being covered with frost or dew. Also gives me some dry storage space underneath my hammock. It has saved me some embarrassment at least once. when I set the suspension too tight once and nearly rolled out of my hammock in the middle of the night. I do use a sleeping mat in a single hammock. You didn't mention this but I'm sure you are well aware of it. Sleeping mats are good because they provide a bit of structure and insulation for the hammock. But unless you have a system in place, those things can move around like crazy. Kammock has a mat that's designed to be used with their hammocks and it has a way to tie it down. Not perfect but much better.
Sorry for the info dump. I totally try not to be one of those people, sometimes the easily excitable nerd in me comes out. I think what I really meant is "I fucking love hammock camping."
Awesome Video!! question the orange and black bag you put everything in, what kind of bags are those?? awesome review on the rest of your stuff!! be safe out there, keep the rubber side down!
