Would make more sense to build a strong 3S -4S setup and just tune it until it's bullet proof and then gear it for how ever you want to drive it. This stuff you are putting this car through though is hilarious, thanks for sharing. I love the fact the big heavy esc is almost sitting pretty much as high as you could get it with out putting it on top on the outside of the fiesta body lol

Richie has created a monster, on 6s with the AVC fitted ON PLASTIC DRIVESHAFTS!!!! It give me 16s infraction a hard time upto 60! Shot some video around the yard, it was hitting 40 on the gps in my yard!!!
Who knew plastic over metal!!! Traxxas tough baby!! Been watching and got my son and I the e-revo 2.0. Learned the hard way not to use the self righting feature!! Broke center axels on both cars within first week. No we are up and running again we are going to build a dirt track!
Jon Jon I've put the plastic back on and filmed it around the yard, it's taking full on 6s launches and they're holding up!

We put a set of those exact axles on my brothers Stampede 4x4 and literally snapped all 4 of them once he was used to the build and gave it full power. The very first run after the build was "done" had the original plastic axles and they literally, all 4, exploded all at once. Each axle was probably in about 15 pieces. Lol. I found the metal axles you also have on eBay and thought they would be sufficient enough for a while. Nope. Ended up with MIP which should have been bought in the first place. Recently he detonated the front diff and neither of us have had time to take it all apart. Was funny when he sheered the metal ones, we both looked at each other and he said exactly what I was thinking, "what did we build?". Lol
awesome story, yes I am sure I have some more interesting times ahead with the build I've already noted HR do hardened diffs! Someone has mentioned XO-1 shafts so I'm also going to look into that. Still can't believe that traxxas plastic centre shaft took full throttle on 4s!
@@DriftomaniacsRC If the Stampede gets to the point where it pops the MIP axles. I'll have to do the XO-1 conversion for my brother but this far they've held up. The Traxxas metal shafts are really expensive for what they are, more than the MIPS are. The reason I got him the MIP rather than doing the conversion was of the MIPs reputation. Time will tell. Also have the Tekno center driveshaft in his Stampede that he's already sheered a grub pin where the out drive connects to the pinion gear in the rear diff. Think that was just a weak one though as it only happened once.

I have done it on 3s in my Slash with hot racing drive shafts sometime if you roll it they brake right off
Definitely want to follow the progress on this so if you get a slash 4x4 lsg you can build this can all the parts obtained thanks

Thats pretty much what my 6s slash acts like, lol. Ive learned to roll into the throttle on 6s, broke a few driveshafts while learning that, lol. Now i just run the rustler 4x4 driveshafts and have no problems with it.
Adam thanks for the input as I still not sure on the driveshafts. I upgraded the stock driveshafts on my rustler 4x4 but am not sure what to go with on this.
@@DriftomaniacsRC you might be able to use the xo-1 driveshafts with a couple other parts, i cant remember right now. Its a possibility that Maxx driveshafts might work. I havent gotten around to getting a pair yet to try fitting on my slash. Been working on building a TRX4 to have fun with, lol.

thanks, it's only about the 3rd RC the wheels have come off although the others were me not checking the wheel nuts! hope you're doing well. I've just fitted it with 8S esc and motor finally! Scary? I thought the 16s infraction was a handful, this thing on 8S is like a slot car!
I have mine setup like this somewhat. Accept i run with a 4s instead. 6s is tooooo much in my opinion. I love your upgrades! Keeep it up!

You're gonna need some kind of aero on the front to get it to 100 mph thats also why it wants to wheelie! try it with the body off and see just how much more stable it is...

Good point on the wheelie bar! I'm thinking about the stiffest sway bars front and rear.
Did that beast just wheelie? Hey Rich I used the gtr shocks with the e revo springs along with Hot Racing sway bar and xo-1driveshafts. They snap too if I gun the throttle like you did. But all in all I love to see that beast fly by on the road. Once you find some open area post it so we can see your top speed.
Yup and that wheelied with some brute force when those rears hooked up! thanks for the advice I was going to get the GTR shocks, but spring advice much appreciated as I have my old erevo springs around. Tell me more on the XO-1 driveshafts? Which do I need all round? I've not ordered anything as yet so all advice much appreciated.
@@DriftomaniacsRC I use the rpm slash 4x4 Arms with the xo-1 driveshaft gives a little extra wide stance.
I'm ordering one of these fiestas this and I want to do some customisation with it so was just wondering where would I get those wheels you have on in this video and will they just bolt straight on the standard hubs or is there more changes needed to get them to fit?
they are Dboots Hoons that are from the arrma infraction, you will need 17mm hex adapters to fit them (And buy good ones!)

ah should have mentioned the battery had none on it just the tray! It just pushes in, I'd not anticipated it pulling a wheelie!
Driftomaniacs I get what you are saying, my worker just got one with the stock 3s velineon system and we were able to squeeze a 3s lipo in the tray
Those metal driveshafts are made from the cheapest, most brittle metall I have seen. They are worthless

its leaning over to one side because of the weight
Not leaning at all when you see it in person any lean is likely due to torque but I have it sat next to me as I type this and it’s not leaning

I just noticed it as anytime you turn to the right it wants to tip over to its left which is the side it looks like it's leaning to, are your batteries situated on the left of the car if you are facing forward in the car ?

They broke when you crashed lol. Not when you pressed the throttle. Driver error. You can see it in the video.
I'd buy some better glasses when you get to go out again, or maybe move nearer the screen from that armchair, although it's hard to critic stuff without being in an armchair. It crashed because the wheels came off!! It was running on the flat!!!!!!! Got a picture? We all know what an 'Armchair Critic' is we just want to know what one looks like....
Is that all it took to break the wheels off? I guess It wasn’t the impact of the crash. It was the blx185 and 6s. What do I expect... a traxxas rally to run on 6s with no problems?
Nor do I it’s a learning curve you go through when doing this kind of stuff I’ve just put plastic shafts back in and it’s taking full throttle launches on 6s!!!!!

You know with 6s or anything more than 3s on a 1/8 car like that you never ever need to hit the accelerator like that. No wonder you can’t control it and spun the axels. Also those shotty eBay driveshafts are garbage.

MIP STEEL DRIVE SHAFT I ran them for about 2years on 6s an 8s an didnt have a problem at all an the motors I ran have a lot of torque you can see a couple of pic on my page if you like shannonnealbrown is my TH-cam page keep up the good work I like your vedios
Those metal shafts out from ebay are a scam the end where your tire screws on just bends or completly breaks like yours did it doesnt take much to break them
