@@fahadali5969 Sorry I thought I replied. Do you have the Optiplex 390 SFF or Midtower? What GPU are you planning on using? Is it a full sized card or a Low Profile Card?
So it’s just the heat sink that came with the machine and a ZR Dark Storm 120 mm fan that does both push and pull. Who knows if it was really that effective but it never over heated.
I have basically the same setup but mine only has two USB ports on the front. I've been out of the loop on hardware for years but I was able to get a 390. It has a I5 2400 (non K model), 8GB of ram. From online they say that some of them can handle an I7 of some sort but their not really sure and according to Dell and Userbenchmark they can only handle 8GB of RAM, so I'm already lost on what this is capable of compared to your video. Do they make a 500W power supply that would fit in this case? What fan did you use that lit up?
I’m actually doing a video on a pretty good LP card, the 1050 TI. It’s waaaaay better than the 1050 TI but they also have the 1050 2 GB and 3 GB in LP form. The best is the GTX 1650. I’ve never tested it but they also make an AMD 550 LP by VisionTek. Phil’s computer lab did a video on it. Look it up, I think you might be able to find one new. But also look online for a 1050ti. You might get lucky.

I recently got a dell optiplex 390 small tower. It came with a i3 2100 and 8g of ram, and a 500g hard drive. All for 25 ! But I was wondering if it would be worth it to upgrade it to a i7 2600 and 16g of ram if I can snag those parts for cheap
Since it's a small form-factor case the 750 ti low profile the 1050 and 1050 TI low profile and this 1650 low profile. The low profile cards can be a little more expensive but they fit right in and don't require 6 or 8 pin PCIe power. The PCIe port powers the card. I hope this helped. @@fahadali5969 Sorry I thought I replied. Do you have the Optiplex 390 SFF or Midtower? What GPU are you planning on using? Is it a full sized card or a Low Profile Card?
Tech 215 bro i have dell optiplex 390 SFF im am planing on using a low profile GPU. 🙏
Fahad Ali awesome!!
Tech 215 bro please tell will it be able to run a 70 watt GPU🙏
I'm gona get this chip but it's the xeon e3 1220?
frankmohr17 yeah it’s basically a 2nd gen i5. Just make sure you have a dedicated GPU they don’t have onboard graphics.
Perfect thank you for the alternative to the i5 2400 I'm more of a xeon fan and this build is awesome
frankmohr17 thanks dude!!! Thanks for subbing too man this was my first video they’ve gotten way better. I appreciate the support bro!!
Where did you bought the cooler fan?
So it’s just the heat sink that came with the machine and a ZR Dark Storm 120 mm fan that does both push and pull. Who knows if it was really that effective but it never over heated.
@@Tech215Studios i'm using dell optiplex 390 sff too, but i didnt get the cooler pipe thingy like you do. And my power supply is not that big
Can't find a good 750 ti lp, what is the next closest that won't bottleneck?
I’m actually doing a video on a pretty good LP card, the 1050 TI. It’s waaaaay better than the 1050 TI but they also have the 1050 2 GB and 3 GB in LP form. The best is the GTX 1650. I’ve never tested it but they also make an AMD 550 LP by VisionTek. Phil’s computer lab did a video on it. Look it up, I think you might be able to find one new. But also look online for a 1050ti. You might get lucky.
I meant “way better than the 750ti”
@@Tech215Studios Thank you. Will the 250W power supply be able to handle it or should I get the 400W? Not sure how far I want to go on this computer since I can't manage the bios for some reason.
Yes. They are made specifically for Dell Optiplex’s, Lenovo’s M9xP’s and HP Pro Desk SFF machine’s.
Did you replace the psu?
No it’s a SFF Case. Those Low Profile cards run off the PCIe and motherboards power. Doing another SFF modded build really soon.
if that is the clone of i5-2400 and 2500 what is e3 1230 a clone of
One of my fans in the MSI gpu is done
Sorry for the late response. Same here on the LP 750 ti. I'm going to be doing another SFF modded Optiplex or ThinkCentre with a much more powerful low profile GPU, so stay tuned. And hit that subscribe button my dude!! Thanks for the support!!!
Tech 215 waiting on that :D
I got a optiplex 9010 can I use a x3460?
Hey Frank!!! No, that chip will only work on first Gen Intel Motherboard, socket 1156. Your Optilex accepts 2nd and 3rd Gen CPU's. A great Xeon for that would be the E5-1230 V1.
I'm sorry the Xeon E3-1230 V2.
What’s the name of the CPU cooler or fan on cpu
Hey bud, It's actually the stock heat sink, with an Aigo ZR Darkstorm Dual Blade 120 MM Fan attached. Thanks for the comment, i have a ton more videos on my channel, I hope you subbed, I'd appreciate the support!!!
Great upgrade but i find it hard to hear you over the music
M DeLuco thanks man!! Dude this was my very first video. So I was still learning for a few videos after that. I’m hoping you guys dig my newer stuff. The quality is way better in terms of video and Audio. Check out my newest video on the RX 580 and lmk your thoughts. I really appreciate the feedback my man!! Hope to see ya around the channel in the future!! 😃
I recently got a dell optiplex 390 small tower. It came with a i3 2100 and 8g of ram, and a 500g hard drive. All for 25 ! But I was wondering if it would be worth it to upgrade it to a i7 2600 and 16g of ram if I can snag those parts for cheap
So that's what my 390 came with. Putting the 2600 in and 16 GB's of RAM would def help!! What card are you putting in?
@@Tech215Studios I might put in either a gtx 970 or 960, im trying to find something with more than 2gs that isnt that bad
what are some of the compatible gpus for the 390sff?
Since it's a small form-factor case the 750 ti low profile the 1050 and 1050 TI low profile and this 1650 low profile. The low profile cards can be a little more expensive but they fit right in and don't require 6 or 8 pin PCIe power. The PCIe port powers the card. I hope this helped. Also I hope you subscribed, I'd love you to be part of the Tech 215 community. Thanks for the comment!!
Will this work on 390 mt?
Yes! Sorry for the delayed response.
❤️
dope fuckin build bro!!!
You should of put a Ben 10 upgrade on the case 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Key Kayp, LOL I had to Google what that meant :) - I'm going to be do a Z400 Workstation, that I put a 6 core Xeon in, a nice little video card, and do a really cool color themed PC. Also, I am going to be doing an all white SFF Optiplex or Lenovo SFF. So stayed tuned my friend, we got some good stuff coming!!! Thanks for dropping a line, I appreciate the support!!
You inspired me to build a pc
@@kayp20_06 That's awesome dude!!!! Go for it!!! And if you have any questions just hit me up. You know where to find me!!!
How would you upgrade Dell precison 490
@@kayp20_06 Nah, it wouldn't be worth your time. You want to atleast be on a system that uses DDR3 Memory. With the exception of some older Xeon's I wouldn't go past Intel 1st Gen.
i helped :)
Can it run gta v
Yeah decent settings at 720P def low settings at 1080P. Thanks for the comment man hope you liked the video. Check out my other vids and consider subbing. I did a cool video on an optiplex 3020 and a SFF Lenovo. Thanks again!!
Dude, I love your two videos but my thing is I can't put notifications to your channel because it is "only made for kids". I don't know if you can change it but I would like notifications my dude.
Dude thank you so much!!! I'm glad you brought this to my attention i will fix it now. Thanks again man. Working on a new video as we speak, hopefully will have it up by the end of the week!!
Issue Fixed Man, Thanks so much for the support!!!
Loved the video.
If music could be played at a lower volueme than your voice, it'd be nice.
Other than that, I loved the footage; really sexy!
Thanks Man!! Yeah this was my very first video, and I've gotten alot better at audio since then :) - I hope you subbed man, we'd love to have you around as a memory of our community!! Thanks again for the comment my dude, I really appreciate the support!!!
i am, however, offended that you called apex legends "enjoyable" and battlefield 5 "a smash hit"
That's an Optiplex 9020, way different than an old 390
Yup good eye. I used it just as stock footage. I done the mods first, then got my camera.
im the girlfriend's brother tech mentioned in the video.
Lmao at those prices. You have to be extremely lucky to find parts that cheap.
Watch my how I flip PC's video. You'd have a conniption if you saw the shit I get from my boy. You have to find somebody who works at a recycling center or does it them selves. I'm very lucky to have that....And a key to his warehouse. :)
I just want to game bruh
Game then brotha - GAME!!!!
i have a 390, that ain't a 390 my man, literally says it on the pc, cool vid though
So I had already painted the 390 so I used another SFF Optiplex I already had to show the process. Semantics bro. 🤣😂
@@Tech215Studios ah, gotcha 👍
@@Tech215Studios question... Why did you paint the internals?
I gotta give you mad props for catching that. Dude that was my first ever mod and first ever video. So I made some mistakes. Shouldn’t of painted the inside of the case but more less to make it look cool. I’m putting out a new video in the next few days. I modded out a Lenovo M93P SFF. It’s pretty dope. If your on Instagram I’m Tech_215_ you should check it out, I just posted picks. Should consider subbing too I’ve put out a ton of videos since then. I’d appreciate the support and love to have you as part of our community.
@@Tech215Studios actually watching this vid made me think it's probably time to blow out the dust in mine (been using it as a headless server)
nice cheap build.
Thanks Man!! That was my first video, I think my vids have gotten alot better since then, I hope you subbed man, I'd love to have you part of the community!
hi is there any better gpus i can put into an dell optiplex 390 sff
