Awesome layout work! Too time consuming for some places ridick labor rates but if you can do it amazing! I'd put a single tack weld on the outside pin to eccentric at least on the driven side to keep it from spinning out of time. That's what's commonly referred to as a "bent crank" when the eccentric rotates on the crank pin.
I've changed big ends on hundreds (maybe thousands?) of motorcycle crankshafts. It's normal for the crankpin to have 0.0015" to 0.004" interference fit (Yamaha usually about 6 tons to press big end, Honda, 2~3 tons) Multi cylinder cranks are up to 18 tons.(Harley Davidson from about 2008 had a 50 ton press fit that scares me) Fitting with a hammer seems to indicate fit is slack? , I hope you welded pin to flywheel? Hopefully you have someone to translate as Google usually messes things up
Can u please tell me what interference fit it should be for a single cyl 350cc..over square engine with 12 cr and 22 mm Crank pin ???should it be high like u said 0.008" to 0.0015"
@@naveedaka It's diameter and material dependent but rarely more than 0.004" on the sizes we work with There are SAE and DIN 'limits and fits' charts so you should be able to find something online although not to your exact specification without doing some math as to the expected loading (inertia, shock loads if you dump the clutch at 12,000rpm, etc) Luckily it isn't critical so basic math should be OK and not being an engineer just make things look right not too lightweight
@@1crazypj thanks for your reply....yes it's for drag race use ..so clutch will be dumped at a higher rpm...we are facing the web twisting issues..it's getting out or true in a few runs
@@naveedaka In that case, it's probably best to use 0.005" and do as most high tuned pressed up cranks are done, TIG weld pin in place. You may also have to change the counter-weight balance It's the way Suzuki did the GSX1100 (4 valve motor) when they still used roller bearing cranks in early 1980's, (the motor was still competitive with a 2 valve head conversion into the mid 2000's -as a 1750cc or larger-320bhp+) I have used stick welder when I had nothing else available but you need much more 'covering' on parts that could be damaged by spatter (I cut some copper sheet to make split covers held in place with hose clamps or wire. You may get lucky with a 'freeze spray' if crank-pin has pressure oil feed, it's the only way I found to do Honda cranks with the balancer shaft drive gear (and why most companies remove the gear then re-balance crank on XR350/400/600/650) Usually, the gear gets broken as it's being removed
