"Awake, my soul, and sing of Him who died for thee, And hail Him as thy matchless King Through all eternity." ...A powerful hymn of praise played as it should... powerfully !! ... KING of Kings and LORD of Lords !!
Crown him the Lord of love! behold his hands and side, those wounds, yet visible above, in beauty glorified; *No angel in the sky Can fully bear that sight*
Crown him the Lord of love might need a softer registration not just a sequence of increasing volume as you work through the hymn. How are you timing the space between verses?
RobCharles1981 hi rob i just love church organ music a friend of mine play in a chaple called smernha Mr Peter David he was a full time organist at Coychurch crematorium rob you need to try to get your hands on that organ there because it's the only crematorium with an organ with all the pipes to it you will love playing it kind regurds Peter David's friend Stephen rob give me a ring on 01446 677973 many thanks
Absolutely wonderful...this was the processional hymn when I graduated from the seminary. It always had special meaning to it for me, and you give it justice by the way you play it. Many thanks Rob.I appreciate your work here on the tube.
I went to a S.D.A. boarding school during high school, and we had a forty (40) member choir. The choir often sang this hymn when the students were being ushered out after the service, and boy that choir would really belt out this song with "fortissimo" and make those old rafters ring. What a joy those hymns were. Doctor George Whitehead (San Pasqual Academy Class of 1963)
VERY NICE!!! I APPRECIATE YOU sharing YOUR GREAT, POLISHED TALENT with us, on You-tube! It was great seeing your awesome foot work, also! :) It's AMAZING, & GREAT, that some humans, such as YOU :) have been blessed with this great gift/talent!!! ....I'm THANKFUL 😊 I can atleast watch & listen! 😃 THANKS too, very much, for playing these wonderful hymns, of the CHRISTian Faith! Knowing the messages of these special hymns, is a great, added blessing! 😃 Sincerely, D. BensonTaylor Saskatchewan :)
Oddly raised in the Roman Church in the last 50 onwards, our Parish Priest had excellent taste in using Hymns from the Anglican and Lutheran hymnal's. Enjoy all of you're performance's... a Gift from The Lord.
excelent! still get goose flesh when you play. reminds me of my gran's church in devonshire was the first time I heard that song played. Loved it then and continue to love it now on the organ.
Rob your beautiful playing of this hymn reminds me of a situation I once was in and the awsome way The Lord ministered to me and also used others to do the same. I really grew in The Lord during that time and have had opportunity to minister to others in the same way that I was ministered to.
Thank you for posting your wonderful and joyous organ playing. The beauty and power of the music on this fabulous instrument is inspiring. I love the different tones when you pull out various stops! Also, I think it is brilliant for the cameras to show your hands AND feet--and it is fascinating to watch. The two Easter hymns are my favorites from childhood: Jesus Christ is Ris'n Today and Crown Him With Many Crowns: such glorious chords and spirited playing! Thank you from Seattle, Washington, U.S.
That key looks like a dream compared to our hymnal. In our hymnal it's written in the key of E major. Anyways, I love listening to you play and you make my day. God bless!
This is Wedding Rehearsal music for the Wedding of the Lamb we are all looking forward to! I never knew there was so much going on while playing an organ - 3 rows of keys for the hands, and another row on the floor for the feet.
That was an "RR" - a Rob Rouser! :-) A thundering bass in verses 1 & 2 then, when you'd think it couldn't thunder further, even more in the last verse!
Hi Rob, You bring a great deal of enjoyment - the hymns you play always remind us of many Sunday services held in many a Welsh Chapel - we are so pleased to have found your channel on TH-cam. Cheers! Dafydd and family, Sutton.
You play the mighty organ like it should be played, full throttle. You do an excellent job at recording also. It feels like I am there. Keep up the good playing. By the way, All Saints Church organ is my favorite.
job well done Rob, your name should be mentioned in Oystermouth Parish web site for the great work you are doing for Christ and the Parish.... a thousand likes for this Hymn..... btw ignore the filthy ones who disliked the video....
Hello Mr. Charles. Just watching your video again and I'm looking forward to letting my mom see it when she visits tomorrow. If you don't mind my asking; where are you (area in which you reside) ? I would very much like to purchase a CD of this and other recordings if you have. I try to listen on the way to work, however, some areas have inadequate reception while driving. Thanking you in advance!!
Karen Marcusson Thank You Karen, I'm based in Swansea which is in South Wales, United Kingdom, I've been planning for a while to do record some CD's to support the All Saints Restoration Appeal and possibly a DVD, I will do my best.
RobCharles1981 Hi. I would like to be one of the first to purchase a CD and DVD. I would like to request my favorite though; 'Crown Him with many crowns'. Thank you. Should you ever perform in the US, such as Charlotte, NC, please notify me. Thank you once again!!
I’ve always been accustomed to playing it [as I first learnt it] one full note higher [E], which I’ve always found a bit high so I’ve got into the habit of going down ½ a note to E♭maj., (or D♯ maj.) but I’ve never thought to play it in D. Simple enough, I suppose, but I’d just transpose down on the fly if I had to, as I’ve never actually played it in D, but it looks simple enough. But I’ve never seen it written in D. I’ve never played it in D. Well, until about 3 minutes ago, on my piano. Live & learn …
Just read this and was amused by the idea of playing anything in D# Major, rather than its enharmonic equivalent of Eb Major, If you wanted to write in D# Major, you'd be faced with a key signature of 9 sharps....aaaarggghhhhh
Where you had the H2 for this recording Rob....it was spot on. Fantastic sound quality, good manual views and pedal board, great hymn this, really enjoyed this...Cheers Mr C :-)
Hi Rob. Very nice hymn, but I prefer it in the key of E-flat. I think the usual D is too dull and brittle sounding for this hymn. E-flat just fits this one better I think and the words sound better to it than D.
Cheers Paul yep it is strange - probably with idiot with much else to do with their time - or the fact they don't like the adverts at the start of my vids!
This is played to fast for my liking. Good use of diapasons 8' and 16' especially in Verse 3. Also like the use of the Quintation 16' sounds very strong and creates a good sense of imagery. Well Done!
Wait. What? I see some kind of keys that you're playing with your feet. They don't look like the pedals from a piano. I see you going all over the place. How do you do that? I guess knowing the piano isn't enough to play the organ. 😣 I love this performance. Which is the original organ by the way. I see organs that have 2 levels and others that have 6.
Now that’s what I call music!
Cheers!

One day Rob you will play for the choirs of heaven. Even the Lord is inspired by your renditions of His most precious hymns.
Thanks Paul that will be cool!

Thanks Rachel! :-)
This is one of my favorite hymns, and beautifully done! Thank you!
Thank you! :-)
I wish I could like this again.
Absolutely wonderful...this was the processional hymn when I graduated from the seminary. It always had special meaning to it for me, and you give it justice by the way you play it. Many thanks Rob.I appreciate your work here on the tube.

Thanks!
My father was a pipe organist and used to play this, my favorite him. Thank you so much for putting this on TH-cam for us all to enjoy!
Sorry for the misspelling - Voice recognition doesn’t recognize the word hymn
My pleasure!

What hymnal do you play your hymns from?
Mission Praise or Hymns Old And New.
Rob, did you get my friend request on Facebook? It's OK if you don't except it, I just thought we could be friends since we are both organists.
