Hallelujah, Praise be to God the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. This hymn reminds me of my ordination as a Deacon 35 years ago, by the then Bishop of Johannesburg in South Africa. Glory to God.
Looking back at my Christian journey and what this song means to me, there's no time I listen this hymn that I dont shed tears of joy. The words ring true meaning even till this day. I've been a Christian for like 30 years and the song still has the same effect on me. Thank you dear Lord for taking my place on the cross and for your victory over death. Indeed, your praise will never ever cease from my mouth.

I’m not so snobby that I don’t mind drums being added to hymns, but it kind of takes the sense of majesty away in this rendition. That last verse was just too fast.

Completely spoiled by the percussion. It's a not a tune that works well with percussion. Just get rid of the drummer!!!
