  • Played at 4th Presbyterian in Chicago, a big thanks to John Sherer for making this possible. Camera credits to Otto.
    The intro is a snippet of Gigout's Grand Choeur Dialogue using the big trumpets in the back of the sanctuary (and the bird whistle at the end). My arrangement is based of off TH-cam user Jclarke527's arrangement, played by ear with some artistic liberties: • Jesus Christ is Risen ...
    Video and sound is from my iPhone XR.

    I love watching and listening to this young man play these wonderful organs, reminds me of my youth when I could still play. Bravo Dan, you are the master of the organ keys!

      As a real metal head myself, like others, I say this is the original instrument of Heavy Metal music. Manowar thought so to with their ‘Crown and the Ring’ track. How I’d love to hear that played in Grace Cathedral!

    Ohh how I love the pipe organ. I used to visit the Crystal Cathedral in Garden Grove, CA with my family as a kid and their organ had around 16,000 pipes I believe. It’s been nearly 20 years and hard to remember but needless to say it sounded amazing live! You definitely sound wonderful too! Most beautiful instrument in the world!

    • @liamcummings5341
      @liamcummings5341 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hauptwerk can be pretty good depending on the organ and setup, electronic organs are just the worst though

    • @williamleitzel1810
      @williamleitzel1810 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I agree that pipe organs are better than electronic organs but,, the cost of pipe organs is prohibitive these days especially for small churches We have a Hybrid Rodgers/Ruffatti combination digital and real pipes that met our needs. The MIDI interface gives you options you could only dream about.. The Organ in Chicago 's 4th Presbyterian is magnificent, another is the Ruffatti organ in coral gables Presbyterian church. Looks like us Presbyterians love our pipe organs. Thanks for your interest.

    • @Capt737AA
      @Capt737AA 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Yes. Hauptwerk will compare to any real pipe organ especially when you have subwoofers (or two like I have in my HW setup). It will absolutely rattle windows if you want it to. For a mere fraction and pennies on the dollar to a real pipe organ.

    • @bhigdaddymark
      @bhigdaddymark 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Mr. Leitzel, have you heard a Walker Technical Organ or a Marshall & Ogletree Organ? Both brands are superb DIGITAL organs and in the case of Walker Technical that has their voices in most of the very well known big organs like the Crystal Cathedral, 1st Congregational Los Angeles, a whole division in the Washington National Cathedral organ to name three big organs and currently the Crystal Cathedral and the Cathedral Church of St. John the Divine in NYC have rented Walker Technical Organs that they're currently using for services in addition to all of the pipe organ builders that use Walker Technical Organ voices in the pipe organs that they build as it's difficult to tell the difference between Walker and real pipes.
      On top of that Walker is superior because they sample E.M. Skinner organs and Aeolian-Skinner organs from the G. Donald Harrison era principally for their instruments. They're NOT the garbage electronic organs of yesteryear and keep in mind that most churches haven't the funds nor the space to hire Dobson, Fisk, Austin, Schantz or in this case, Quimby to build a pipe organ for them as much as they'd love to have one so they must settle for a digital organ as they haven't a choice and they can get much more organ in a digital than if they bought a pipe organ. Digital serves a purpose that the pipe organ purists won't admit to, and continuously deny.

    • @williamleitzel1810
      @williamleitzel1810 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@bhigdaddymark Thanks for your letter. I have not heard a Walker Organ,but have heard several Marshall & Ogletree organs . I am familiar with Walker from the standpoint that they made the interface for the Rufatti pipes to our Rodgers organ in 1999. My reference to old electronic organs relates to the HAMMOND SPINET ORGAN I had in the late 50's I am 84 now and wish I could come and hear you play at 4th Presbyterian, I also am Presbyterian. Good luck to you and I will kee p following on TH-cam.

    This is clearly a Samuel Metzger arrangement. I would sparse out your use of a 32' especially one that is digital. I use to work in a pipe shop for an organ company and REAL 32's blend so much clearer. So its no offense towards your playing by any means. Since you can only work with what you have. Builders really need to disclose on the stops that it is either a "resultant or digital" at 32' and 64'. Richards and Fowkes seam to make some of the best NA 32's. along with AR schopps. Which is also why we work together (or try to anyway) and if someone has a person in a shop that built a better shallot, we would call them and just PAY them to make it for us. :) So I am kinda surprised that they made it digital. Instead of just going to a halved resonator if space was an issue. or Haskell the pipe. VS digital.

    • @Dansorganmusic
      @Dansorganmusic  ปีที่แล้ว

      This is my own arrangement with some inspiration from another TH-cam organist, credited in the description.
