- Shipwrecked 64 is a long lost Nintendo 64 game... or so legend goes. But while on the surface this simply seems to be the tale of Bucky the Beaver and his animal pals, shipwrecked on a tropical island, if we look a little deeper a sinister sectet story is found. In this video we take a deep dive into the secret story of Shipwrecked 64, as well as looking at each of the hidden endings.

I think that it was the Bucky Starling and not Brandon himself that did the attacks. Could explain why it creeped out Olivia so much and “didn’t act human”. It technically wasn’t human by that point

Yeah and when the starling banged it’s head against the door it actually left a disgusting stain why would a fur suit make a stain on a door unless it was the starlings blood
Minor correction: The walrus wasn't actually with the rest of the cast when they first crashed the boat. If you read Walter's dialogue, he clearly states that he came on his own boat at a different time than Bucky and Co. (and also he isn't on the boat in the title screen). The boat you retrieve in Walter's minigame is his, not Bucky's. Bucky's boat is a reward from the wolf.

Conner is the wolf. Conner wanted his son to retrieve video logs he gathered about Broadside the same way Wolf wanted Bucky to collect treasure. Both scenarios involved a murderous creature on the hunt.Just a theory
Sounds believable but then again the wolf was never a mascot to begin with so he couldn’t have become a starling, I think it’s just figurative where the wolf is meant to represent Conner instead of them literally being the same person

I like how many people expected an animatronic to kill people, but instead we got a fully aware person just wearing an empty costume who knows who and where he kills.
Actually Brandon isn't a person anymore. He died and was turned into an artificial undead monster

It just occurred to me that maybe Olivia’s medical file is in a hidden room due to the fact that no one witnessed or recorded her murder unlike the other two.

I'm positive Connor's death had nothing to do with a cover up especially when you consider that the recording is from the jumpers POV and that Connor likely knew that his life was over anyway since if the company didn't get him the authorities would have and then there would have been some interesting questions to answer like how he got the recordings of Brandon committing the murders in the first place and why he didn't hand them over sooner
Agree. However it is possible these camera recordings were those of a security camera.

I think he wanted to do that the way he did was to personally get revenge on them @@somebodynobody1204. He didn't care about justice, honor or the people who suffered.
I know Superhorrorbro told us to just watch this video, but so much has changed between the demo and the full game that someone needs to pick up that slack.

it's cool how it took you 1 hour to finish the game but 20 minutes to explain everything, and in really good and actually fun way. I liked your playthrough and was really excited to see your story explanation and it was really up to expectations.

17:34 man, this means that, if the information isn't outdated, Gary got hit with a whole lot of irony. (EDIT: Fixed some facts after watching Broadside Beach 2)
He was a mascot handler (who played Giovanni Goose) who was murdered on a stove (by Bucky, who Giovanni seems to not be so fond of) then turned into a Giovanni Starling, and then Giovanni later appeared in a video game. In a mission to turn ovens off before they catch fire.

Extra detail you missed, Brandon is the son of the original creator Rex Leastor. It's a small detail but if you look close, it's there (noticed during your playthrough)

Nah, it was Bucky who did the killings. Mike got that part a bit wrong. The starlings are not people in suits, but rather mutants created from the tissues of dead bodies.

A minor quibble: If Broadside is still active at the time of the eBay purchase in the game's universe, then they absolutely would have outbid anyone else to acquire the copy and keep it out of the public. So the whole release we play coming from an eBay sale is actually one of the least plausible things about the story, lol. But as it's just a McGuffin, it doesn't detract from the rest of the experience or story.
They were probably closed by that point

I'm starting to notice a trend in indie games recently where the game revolves around a cursed game. I can't be the only one who sees this, right? Between this, Andy's Apple Farm, and Mr. Tomatos, it's getting pretty hard to ignore.

Broadside wanted to create living mascots for a theme park just like Joey Drew Studios wanted to bring their cartoon characters to life for a theme park.

Just came from a stream by That Cybert Channel on this game and I gotta praise not only the atmosphere but also how the scares were not too terrible loud yet still invoked fear and dread by just it's appearance. Outstanding stuff

I know it’s not super practical, but I’d love it if games like this got official releases for the consoles they are emulating. Like, imagine holding a “real” Shipwrecked cart and popping it in your old N64.

I playtested this game back when it was just an island with a bunch of palm trees. Boy, has it come a long way since then.
I gotta say I was enjoying it until the mascot experiment stuff. It felt so tacked on. The story was fine with just the murders
Bendy and Poppy Playtime did the same thing. Honestly, I feel like Broadside Beach did it way better, and made it an actually disturbing concept.

Eh, I gotta disagree with you there. This game's mascot experimentation was planned from the very start, to create a strange mixture between Resident Evil and FNAF. All of the murders, actually came after the experimentation was thought up. I still appreciate the criticism though, we'll make sure to make the game feel like the experimentation feel less like a last minute addition

I think you should check out something squeaks made called “broadside film fest” where a bunch of analog horror creators work is shown, but also in the fest there is a now privated broadside beach 1

Well yes, but in Nintendo's eyes, only Nintendo is allowed to do that.
@@wakkaseta8351 I'm pretty sure they buy the rights or pay to use sound effects from other games (mostly they use sounds from other games they also own) or tweak them so it's copyright free (or use copyright free material). However they own copyright to their material and thus can decide if they want anyone using it or not..it's not copyright free material for the public, it's things they specifically own the rights to and you can't go around using stuff without asking unless you follow certain rules to avoid breaking copyright.

Imagine how refreshing the game would be if it didn’t evolve the whole “Brandon, Nathan, Gary and Olivia are possessing animatronics” and instead was simply a tragic story about a game devs act of revenge, failing and then offing himself. Much more creative than this

I think this particular Story Explained episode was unique in that instead of the story revolving around the game itself it revolves around its development process.
So this seems to be a mix of FNAF, Analog horror and Bendy and the Ink Machine. Always loved this genre and the haunted cartridge lost episode creepypasta!

They HAVE to either make a sequel or add more content sometime! This game is amazing! 🤩 It has so much potential. People gotta spread the word about this game! It has creepy cartoon video game stuff, and it has people being resurrected into cartoon video game characters, some of my favorite stuff to see in a horror game. 😁 To those who see this comment, drop what you’re doing and spread the word! Then maybe, this game will get popular enough for there to be more Shipwrecked 64 content someday. 😄 It may take a bit for someone to make a game and add content to it, so if more content gets confirmed, don’t rush the creator. Yes, I’d be very excited if more content was coming, but rushing the creator of something doesn’t do them any good. You must remember that they are people too.
I know all the games you make videos about are techniqually horror, but just looking at the images of this is legitimately creepy and made my skin crawl. Just the footage of the costumed man gruesomely killing those people was horrific to watch and was actually sickening. Kudos to whoever made this, it damn well has me paranoid just seeing it.
This is basically if M36 Games (the creators of Andy's Apple Farm) made a cursed N64 game with disturbing lore.
