Shipwrecked 64 is the ARG game that has taken TH-cam by storm, quickly becoming one of the scariest and most in-depth ARG's in a long time! After seeing MatPat play it so many times on @GTLive I KNEW we had to do an episode explaining the LORE over here! The murders in this ARG are actually disturbing. Like in most ARG’s, it is usually just someone getting stabbed or shot. But having your head slammed into a microwave then dunked into a frier is actually disturbing. Made me turn my head for a second.

also he didn't mention the blue bunny artist which is it's own entire mini game and I believe is unique from the other mascots as he I think is the creator of the website found in layer 3, also the chief's minigames.
It’s crazy to see where this game has ended I don’t want to reveal too much abt the developer but I went to school with him and he’s been working on this for as long as I have known him. Congrats Squeaks your game is amazing

Shipwrecked 64 is the best example of an ARG where you think you found everything; however, their is still more to uncover when discovering more of the story which is what made feel really love this game in the first place. This definitely made me feel so attached on learning more about the world of Broadside Beach and what went wrong behind the scenes.

What i find most curious is that conors death is recorded in the game with footage of his death.
It could be that he had someone else add that in after his death, but Connor specified that he'd now be working alone to finish the game. Not to mention, it'd be pretty weird for a co-worker at the game studio to agree to film him taking his life to add to the game once he was gone.
Does the video of the balcony show him jumping off? Cause if not he could have pre recorded the video of his balcony, coded in the suicide ending, added the video after to let everyone know he jumped off, THEN jumped off himself in real life.

I believe that the balcony footage and the article was added by the ones who restored the game. Like, they made both versions playable, so maybe they added that in the og

I'm surprised Stumbler wasn't mentioned! Both him and Wulf seem to know a lot about the game world they're in, especially Stumbler. He even said he made you that guide with the help of Wulf.
There's also that third guy, the one with the hat I think, who you talk to during that save everyone ending. He was also grouped up with the other two on some occasions, maybe he's important too

PLEASE give us more of this. There are still SO many questions that need to be answered and probably a lot more spooky stuff to go through.
There’s also an entire analog horror series for this game called broadside beach, which is SUPER well done and adds tons of new lore to the series.
EDIT: So I didn't realize this, but the series is technically not canon. I think there are still a lot of things that are still somewhat canon, but it is actually being remade currently to fit the game more, as the original series was kind of a 1st try,
with the game being a soft reboot.

I remember that the "Dwellers" were originally named "Starlings", similar to the big bodies initiative from Poppy Playtime, instead when those actors died, Broadside turned them into the characters.
Think they still are. Starlings are the IRL, Dwellers are their game counterparts.
I wish he talked about the whole starling situation, but maybe that's for a future theory
It seems a little bit off to when I went through a play through of the game.
The Starling bit always felt out of place.
Not only cause so far it seems more like a thriller with a serial killer, but also the clip you find about them is…really different and out of place compared to all the others. All the other clips are security camera footage or something like this, while the Starling one is more akin to a cheery Corporate Presentation
I wouldn’t be shocked if its reworked or removed in an update at some point
In Gary's death (microwave) you can hear screaming when his head is dunked in the fryer. He was alive through the entire ordeal
Shipwrecked is yet another arg that I think has it's biggest strength in it's authenticity. From the feel of an n64 game, the story about reviving the game, the mascot costume desings, and the less supernatural killer.

After watching pappo's near 2 hour documentary theory vid, I can say that their is a WHOLE lot more LORE in this game and you have only just scratched the surface on this masterpiece of a game.

I noticed that during the mini games one of them was to stop the ovens from burning. That character’s death was also from a kitchen related fatality. This might just be speculation, but maybe the mini games have something in common with their deaths. Like how the first one’s mini game doesn’t let you move in the dark, so maybe they were killed in the dark. Like I said, this might just be speculation, but might be a possibility.
that's precisely what is happening. it's more obvious with Giovanni's minigame/death but the rest correlate as well
The oswald parallel being named blot is possibly a Epic mickey reference, specifically that early versions of that game had intended on Oswald merging with the shadow blot, the main villan based on another forgotten disney character.
1:44 I really like this concept of letting the player experience the non horror version of the game and to get them ready for what to come.

So a few things I've seen missed
The rabbit character is actually a mockery of the dying partner made by conner
The wolf character is meant to be mark
The character you play as is Conner
Just a bit symbolism missed for anyone searching for more themselves

Actually there is a TON missed here, like the fact that Brandon isn't a serial killer, he's actually the first to die. Any murders he committed were after he was killed himself. The island the original broadside beach resort was located on had a mysterious substance that was later used to reanimate Brandon instead of hiring a replacement, but it deformed him and so he never left the suit after that. And after Brandon's reanimated corpse snapped and killed everyone, they reanimated THOSE corpses and kept them performing in the suits because it was cheaper than hiring a living person. The thing made of wood and cloth we're supposed to find is implied to be an amalgamation of all of the victims after they were abandoned on the island, and it's very possible that Rex himself is also one of these zombie things. That's what the starlings are. They're REAL in the context of the ARG, and they're coming after Mark.

I believe the picture on the right at 23:17 is actually an edited photo form Disney’s private island castaway cay ( u can see a Disney cruise in the background) which makes a lot a sense given how much of the story is based on the Disney story.

I’m willing to bet that the statue guy is the lost character Blot Bunny. The statue guy is in the deepest, probably most forgotten layer and mentions that a lot has happened which makes sense if you are a character made in the 40s
Its actually something else. During the Codebreaker, in the actual game, you can encounter a glitch that if left unattended becomes Blot, though its actual name in the files is Rex, refering to Rex Broadside. The Statue has ties to a Cave of flesh you encounter
the statue guy is called the husk, and blot is a completely different character
Blot is actually a different character. Blot is seen in the layer before the final boss. The last creature you face is The Husk.
24:18 Brandon was the first of generation 3 starlings, and went insane and killed the other mascots, and the became starlings (hunks of living human meat that are designed to better fit their costumes, made after they died.)

I enjoy the way Tom presents the lore through chronological explanation of the puzzles and clues he came across, rather than chronological story and then explain the evidence that supports each point of the narrative.

I watched SuperHorrorBro cover this game, and now I just wanna see a team up between Gametheory and SHB for the second part of this.

i’m not sure if anyone will look up the original arg that predates this game (because the series it’s apart of is called “broadside beach” but essentially the costumes themselves are implied to be aliens, that take over and control human bodies, similar to several fungus species. Starlings (the name of the creatures) use their suits as their exoskeleton, and the human component was never alive to begin with
Additionally he was on the complete wrong track for the olivia death, she wasn’t murdered at all actually. All that happened was that she drowned while inside the suit. all that bucky stands for is that someone saw her drown but got out before the starling became active, since person was aware of the suits true nature
