So from what I've gathered, the person we play mainly as is a kid, not sure how old, "Garfield" is not real but some kind of demon or entity taking his form. Jon is trying to stop them and has been trapped in a loop and we are trapped with him both to keep this entity at bay and to try every time to stop them. This is just my interpretation. Great video.
I also think Garfield shows himself as a cat to look more inviting to the child! As when Jon and the kid are talking Jon asks the kid "Who's kitty?" As he isn't aware that's how the kid sees Garfield.
There's something about this that's both nostalgic about it, but also something scary about it. It's also good to see that Garfield hasn't been forgotten about. It was one of my favourite tv show's I enjoyed watching growing up.
So what I understand about the game's story is that Jon somehow got in contact with a powerful Entity connected to relic from Egypt that look like a cat. The Entity promise to give Jon power if he follow its instructions. But turn out the Entity is actually evil, and start to take control of Jon's body to kill people and force Jon to tear off his own tongue when he start to question it. Jon then understand his mistake and try to resist the Entity control and to hide from it using the sigils, but the Entity manage to control Jon one last time and force him to kill a familly and abduct the Child so the Entity have a new vessel to use. And when interacting with the Child, the Entity take the appearance of Garfield or "Kitty" in this case to trick him into playing his "games" who are actually the Entity taking control of the child to kill more peoples. Jon try to protect the child from the Entity but it doesn't work since the child prefer to listen to Garfield than Jon. In the end Jon crack and end up killing the child to stop him from going on another killing spree, but turns out this Child death was exactly what the Entity needed to be summon in the real world without needing a vessel anymore ? So the Entity destroy the entire world (including the things Jon was planning to use to destroy the Entity) except Jon's house who is still protected by the sigils, so the Entity bring back the Child from the dead and force Jon to live thoses moments again and again until he cracks and let the Entity kill him too. Depressing.
Plus Jon is trying to contact the child the best way he can without Garfield or the loops influence. There's a way to put the headphones back on at some point and it has a morse code that I think is a message from Jon to the kid. It says this: I DON'T KNOW WHO OR WHAT YOU ARE AND I DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU KNOW YOU'VE BEEN HERE BEFORE HUNDREDS OF TIMES. YOU'VE RETURNED TO ME EVERY DAY AND EVERY DAY I MUST STOP YOU I'VE TRIED KILLING YOU. I'VE TRIED TO KEEP YOU ALIVE. PLEASE FORGIVE ME SOMETIMES I WANT TO GIVE UP, BUT I FEAR THAT IF THE VOICE IS FREE, WE WILL BE TORTURED EVEN MORE THAN THIS. PLEASE PLEASE FORGIVE ME.

I have a bit of a theory that the person we play as is actually Jon's old roomate and Odie's owner in the Garfield comics, Lyman. In 1988 Lyman made one last appearance and suddenly disappeared from the comics and in the 20 year anniversary Garfield book the creator gave us 10 reasons why Lyman disappeared and one of them said "Don't look in Jon's basement." And if you look at 33:52 the person is being dragged to the basement by Jon. Kinda a funny reference/easter egg right?

Remember that in the demo if you let the 2 hour timer on the lasagna reach 0 it crashed the game. I wonder if that’s still the case in this version of it or if something else happens.

i like the ending you basically cant do and change the fate and torture for jon and the child they're just doomed to repeat this loop til time ends and if you bother trying to help like the tape in the beginning doing nothing and the code (probably i didnt watch half the video lol.) Perhaps the Egyptian part is a big key here. Is this cat entity part of a malicious force or guardian force? Egyptian Gods tend to be pretty weird. And their lore even more so. And don't even start with all their underworld monsters and physics of their underworld. I'd wager more malicious seeing how they say "I enjoy playing with my food". The loop being them playing. Anyways, good luck with the lore. It's probly pretty convoluted.

Holy those lasagna enemies I think are from the Garfield show, they were…an Alien race of lasagna and were terrified of Garfield cause well..yah know…if not directly than an inspiration from the show at least….
theory list and what i've taken from the game: garfield is a servant for the god shown in the game, and the god is possibly inhabiting the cat relic, symbolising it's control over garfield. the god is the true master over jon, making him do horrible things. in the segment where everything is duller than normal, and where jon is seen with bloodied hands and a baby, my guess is that he killed the baby's parents and kidnapped it, and that baby is the person who made all the drawings, and the one jon puts in the cage. we, the player, are the child jon kidnapped, and the child jon eventually shot. we are stuck in a loop, completing garfield's demands until our death and the loop starts all over. these are all my theories. feel free to correct me on anything i got wrong.
Although this game is a fan game, it has a very unique and incredible story. It just gives off very creepy and mysterious vibes which makes just so good. And I love how this story has a very cheery vibe to it at one point but slower you get into it the more scary it is. I give this game a easy 10/10
i believe if you dont listen to the voice at the end before the parcour with bombers (when he tells you the code) and instead maybe find a blindfold to cover your eyes like John asked u would have had a differante ending !
Several of these models for the charcaters seem to be ripped from the garfield show ( except for garfield and oddie from what i can tell). I havent seen that show in quite a while but to see the alien lasagna used as enemies here is funny
So here’s what I’ve put together(I haven’t read any of the other peoples theory’s yet so correct me if I miss something) Basically Jon had some sort of phycadelic dream about the relic being locked away, then he began to hear voices which told him to go steal it, once he did the thing talking to him was able to get ahold of him and use his body for his own means of worship, hence stealing the young kid to continue the legacy and killing everything in their way. Jon began to realize things he could do to stop it and tried to convince the kid to help him, but the relic was smart, it knew the kid would be easily manipulated just by turning into something comforting, hence Garfield. Jon eventually had no choice but to end the kid life due to the manipulation getting to the kids head and becoming a worshiper of the relic.
I really needed another video, got a bit triggered last night after seeing a movie and it’s been on my mind since. I hope you haven’t forgotten about the Shipwrecked series- I’m hyped to see the next video, but I understand you need a break!
