NEKSRUDE There are something in the life: music, art. If you play so fast, art dissapear. listen HENRYK SZERYING, and you will listen Bach, art, life, human nature. Tempo is the most important. Talk so fast with somebody and you'll see. Is better no play, no talk.
Funny you imply that by listening to Szeriyng that you will hear it clearly. Actually Hahn's intonation at this pace is much more pure and easily understood than Zseriyning could dream of at any pace. Hahn is one with Bach more so than anyone. She understands Bach at depths greater than Szeriyng in all his years.
Espririta Doutrina is right - it feels a bit too virtous and mechanical. It does not touch me. I ve an old Version from Thomas Zehetmayer on CD. Its soo wonderful. And his Violine is easier to hear through the rest of se assemble.
Hell no lmao I am learning this piece and I didn’t realize it was that fast until I listened to this 😭
Szeryng plays it considerably more slowly. Worth a listen
OMG SAME I WAS SO SHOCKED
IF YOU CAN PLAY IT SLOWLY, YOU CAN PLAY IT QUICKLY
A Hilary worth listening to...
No one can play Bach better than Hilary Hahn. She just gets it.
metalheadlass, listen Henryk Szeryng. He is mundial reference critical about Bach.
One of the greatest ROCK recordings of all time. Hilary is unbeatable.
Hilary Hahn, you are a wonderfully talented violinist!
Thank you for this piece of music! I am learning to play it and this is quite helpful.

75% speed sounds good but means 4min 21 s play time instead of 3min 16s. even david oistrakh needed 4min16s, which i see in my recommendations
troppo vivace con 100% rapidez
why so fast?
Espírita Doutrina allegro assai

The time is relative.
Allegro Assai means very fast, so I've got a hunch that's how JS Bach intended it to be played.

Too fast. She plays it perfectly, but it needs to breathe. I guess this is Bach on Steroids.
too fast
Why play to fast no good
