Just a heads up- the cold air intake will mess up your engine. The stock intake has a weird zig zag pipe on it called the snorkus. If you take off the snorkus the engine will run rich. The issue happens because the vibration of the engine makes the oxygen molecules vibrate back and forth across the 02 sensor tricking it into running a richer fuel ratio. I dont know if you had any issues so far but its something you should probably check out. There is even a sticky on the NASIOC forum on it.

Did you tune the ECU for the intake? If you delete the Helmholtz snorkel box certain RPMs backlash and confuse the MAF so it'll dump way too much fuel and blow your engine.

My dream car since I was 13 has always been a 07 to 09 impreza wrx sti but they were out the ass expensive at dealerships here in Indiana so I found a 09 2.5i and hes my whole world. I started with cosmetic mods first like I have steelies but I got some really nice bbs looking hubcaps for now until I get my tax check for all new wheels, hes red and I hate red sm (I rlly wanna paint him cement grey🥵) but I painted the mirrors, door handles, grill, back bar with the logo on the hatches, and a strip where the side skirts are gonna go all black and I'm loving it. I also am currently redoing my whole interior black bc I cant stand silver accents on cars, especially on the inside. But my number one goal rn is getting the exhaust fixed. I bough a cherry bomb for rn until I can afford to get a better exhaust but I'm hopefully getting the exhaust done here in the next couple weeks when I get my tax check also. I eventually wanna do what you're doing but with wrx parts instead of sti but I love your 2.5i. I hate people who shit on impreza owners who don't have a wrx or sti. Like come on, just let us live our lives and build our cars.

Hey dude! Could you tell me all that you needed to get a turbo alternator cover to work on the 2.5i? I heard you just need to buy the WRX bolt that goes on the left, as our right side bolt will bolt up fine, its the left side thats different. Thanks!

How did you get the sti wheels to fit I have them and they don't fit my 2.5i did you need wheel adapters?
A little late but yes! Sti wheels are a 5x114 lug pattern while the 2.5I had a 5x100

So you swapped the original hood for an STI hood with no problems?
I wanna do that but it's hard to find a used one there's some aftermarket ones on ebay and amazon. They say direct fit but sometimes aftermarket parts don't fit right.
Yes, it bolted right up no issues, I found mine on offer up, should give it a try checking there, or on let go. And yeah I didn’t trust the aftermarket ones either that’s why I just waited till someone was finally selling one

Swapping the normal Impreza hood to a wrx hood with a scoop is it not bad to have rain water going through the scoop into the engine bay?
All the parts I search for are for a 2.5RS or a WRX stg

In this video it was on stock suspension but I did put BC coilovers on it later on that had the rear tires tucking and front fender was right at the tire!

i have 2.5 rs impreza non turbo with a exhaust magnafloh sound not really good is hurting my ears, i plan to improve more.
If you want that nice Subaru rumble sound, I suggest getting unequal length headers and an exhaust with a bigger muffler, that way you have the nice rumble and it’s not too loud!

I just bought a 2.5i I'd love to get your opinion on my car so far!
You should start by getting UEL headers so you get the subie rumble
Here is the deal on the 2.5i:
Dont touch the engine intake or exhaust aside from maybe a muffler and tip. DONT GET A COLD AIR INTAKE!
Forget about putting a turbo on it and dont dress it up like a WRX/STI IMO
The stock rims are the lightest rims Subaru makes, the WRX rims may look cool but are a lot heavier.
Make sure timing belt was done at 100,000 miles or the engine will go boom if it breaks.
See if head gaskets were done
Get a WRX rear sway bar, they are cheap and make a huge difference in handling.
Dont get coil overs unless you only plan on driving on smooth roads or you will hate life- its a Rally car after all.
Find your local autocross track and autocross it, they are fun as hell to throw around the cones.

@@manuelvazquez6454 You can if you want, it will slightly hurt performance but you will get more of that "Subie Rumble" its not really worth it IMO. Just get a different muffler if you want the car to sound more aggressive.

I just can't help but point out that you have the wrong hood scoop on the car, that one is for the 04-05 models not the Hawkeye. I have the same exact car just missing the fake sti up badging. Im in slight favor of the wing but the vortex generators and hood scoop are just a hard no.
To each their own, we build our cars for ourselves not for others, as far as the hood scoop, I am aware of that but like I said to each their own, I like the look better and it’s an actual scoop that was made for the 06/07 models for the people such as myself that like the look because if you were to try and put an Oem 04/05 scoop on an 06/07 it would not work without modification
Also, if you put an Sti spoiler on your trunk- MAKE SURE TO ALSO GET THE UPGRADED HOOD STRUTS! I bought my 2.5i with a Sti spoiler on it and the previous owner left the stock shocks and the damn trunk would slam every time and I almost got my fingers caught a few times. I finally got to the point I took the spoiler off, it actually handles better without it because it puts a lot of weight high on the car.

Did you ever Im about to buy one as my first too.
Most aftermarket rims are much heavier than the stock ones. You only have 175 hp so anything like heavy rims etc will hurt performance and there is nothing you can do to the engine to get more hp. I have a Black 2.5i and it had blackout tint and it looks dope as hell.
