- In this video I finally make my new Impreza road worthy by replacing the manifold catalytic converter, cat back exhaust, and brakes on all 4 wheels. While I am by no means a professional, I put together a little how-to for the brakes with just enough you need to know to get the job done. I also get a couple little interior trinkets and get the car clean. This is a long one, but well worth watching to follow my progress on the car.

@@eduardmondilla8275 Yes, I believe my manifold should also fit a 2.5rs because they are both a non turbo ej25.

@@eduardmondilla8275 I'm sorry, but unfortunately I was mistaken. I am not familiar enough with the slight differences in years, so I was unaware that the 2.5 RS has a different shaped manifold without a cat. Apparently the 2.5 RS manifold wraps around differently than my car and has its cats in the next section of exhaust after that. I hope you see this before you make any decisions that were misinformed on my behalf.
Never hang a caliper from the hose kinks the metal liner inside causing future caliper issues

so would an impreza wrx catback from 2007 work on the regular impreza? ive scoured the internet for a catback for my impreza 2007 and can't find one. great video!
Great video man, the only thing I would have done differently is cleaned the front of your hub where the rotor sits. If you don't clean it and there is a lot of rust or brake dust buildup on that hub it can cause brake rotor runoff issues and possible future rotor warping issues. Other than that great video I would love to see more from you!
Thank you, and I agree I could've cleaned things up better. Living up north where everything gets rusty and gross quickly during the winter, I didn't give much thought to it. More content should be coming soon.

Quick question, I’m replacing rotors and pads for a friends 06 Impreza 2.5i wagon. Do you know what size sockets I need to take off the caliper bracket bolts and the caliper guide pin bolts?
Very cool! You need new wheel centre caps man, the cheapest place to get them for me was the Dealer believe it or not, CA$20 each. Makes a weirdly huuge difference!!! Mine’s a hatchback tho🤠
Love hearing about other peoples cars! One of these weekends when I'm home before it really starts getting cold and snowy I might paint the stock winter set anyway, but I agree center caps can really make a difference.

3 inch exhaust header back but I think the tip is 4 inches

It’s mostly self taught, but I’m extremely fortunate that my dad has the experience to help me out when I need it.

probably wanna pull the pcv valve and make sure it's still working right. a faulty one will shorten the life of the engine

What exhaust did you get?
Basically the cheapest 02-07 wrx turboback on ebay, hence me having to modify it.
i know this is an old video but were those equal or unequal length headers
I believe equal; they're just some cheapy basic ebay ones that are good enough to pass inspection.
Should have got the unequal ones and given the car that subaru sound… did it on mine and she sounds great. Here in the UK its a 2.0 non turbo that they call the R sport. Ej204

I can't say you're wrong, but this video is about getting the car on the road, not making it look good. None of the parts I buy are expensive, and it needed an exhaust and brakes to drive. While eventually I want to fix this, bodywork is expensive, time consuming, and doesn't make the car drive any different.
