  • Highly recommended: If you order the bulbs online, make sure you check immediately if they are the same with your original bulbs. Even if they say it is a correct fit, double check it. If you buy it locally, bring your original bulbs to compare. We made a mistake of not checking the bulbs until we were about to do the video. That was a big mistake on our end.
Back to the video: Replacing the Headlight bulb on a 2005 Porsche Cayenne is very straight-forward... as long as you have the OEM tool still in your vehicle. If not, make sure you have alternative tools to use as described in the video. This procedure would apply to all other Porsche models as well since Porsche production had been pretty uniformed and consistent with their headlight assembly. Only difference would be is where the headlight socket is located. That the concept is pretty much the same.
** Disclaimer: We do not recommend specific brands for the Headlight and we do not endorse any brands. Our best advise is do not buy the cheapest ones. Cheap bulbs are made with cheap materials and can malfunction anytime. We do not recommend those. Thank you **

If anyone tries following this for a Cayenne 2015 - 2018, don't. It is different. You an actually change the bulb without removing the housing. Also, for those years, beware that the bulb in Advance Auto Parts' system is incorrect. It doesn't have a notch on the plug that is needed. I don't have the model in front of me right now or I would share it. If you need it, feel free to message me.
I wish the creator would have specified the exact make / model of the bulb he used in the video.

Hello. I did Put on the tittle "Model 955" which is the first generation Cayenne. I even said on the title that the car we are working on is a 2005.
I never said this was for the third generation Model.
I did not mention the exact brand I used because I don't want to be brand specific, but if you watched the video, on time 5:17, you can easily see that my emergency bulb is an Osram brand. And even before that, I described the notch on the bulb and the location they need to check on their vehicle as I found out it varies from one Cayenne to another. That is not on me, that is on Porsche.
If anything there is anything else you need, please just ask us, you don't haven't have to call us out on the comments, even though all the answers are on the video. I hope my answers helped. Thank you for watching! - Rjeff H2H

What do you think of the Cayenne in terms of reliability and cost to maintain? I need another car so was considering getting one.

Lots of factors actually. But for me personally, we love the 1st gen base model simply because the turbo and v8 has bore scoring issues. Also, no air shocks to deal with. It is very smooth in the highway. But if you live in a place with many potholes, you will feel every bumps on the road. Newer gens have too many buttons that takes away from the driving experience. They over did the technology a little bit. Parts of course are a bit more expensive than average vehicles, its the a Porsche so that is expected. But really for me, its still a sports car, but with a bigger body. Test drive a few to get a feel for it-Rjeff H2H

My headlight (driver) will not reconnect, it keeps falling out..any idea?

Hello. Jump to time 4:30 where I explain that some headlight maker do not put the correct notch on the headlight bulb unit. Compare your old and new headlight side by side to see if that is the same issue. If the new one does not have the notch, it will not fit in the headlight assembly. I hope that information helps - Rjeff H2H

Hello. I don't think the average viewer would know how to do that. Plus, it is easier to just return it and get the correct bulb than risking damaging the bulbs that you can return anyway. Thank you for watching - Rjeff H2H

@@How2Helen I understand your point. But when we buy stuffs like from my part of the world (Africa) it cost more of even near impossible to return it. So we just try and make do or the best of whatever we can.

@@gudalawrence3746 Oh Hello there in Africa! I honestly didn't think our videos hare viewed all the way there! I do agree with you on alternative fixes and repairs. If you see our other videos you will see that we do offer alternative fixes, particularly when the actual repairs are a bit expensive. But the irony about it, is that our alternative fixes usually gets the most dislikes and negative comments. It's really hard to make all the audience happy no matter how hard you try. Anyway, I do appreciate your comment and watching us all the way from there! We thank you for watching, and I hope to visit there someday! Let's keep in touch just in case, Lol! Thanks again!- Helen and Rjeff (H2H)

@@How2Helen , happy about your feedback. What part of Tyne world are you from will really appreciate keeping in touch . Truth is down here we are not at liberty to just walk up to a shop and get an OEM replacement parts for our cars. Most of the times we have to settle for parts from junkyard or from vehicles that have been totaled that were imported from the United States or Canada.

@@gudalawrence3746 We are in New York, USA. Where in Africa are you? We can somehow relate to your situation. Rjeff is originally from the Philippines where car parts are super expensive, so you would have to either go to the junkyard, or make an improvised replacement from other car parts. Someday when we go there, let's make a video to feature how you get around with acquiring parts there, so we can show how we should not take for granted how easy life here in our end. Thanks again for watching and will keep in touch- H2H
