    I had the initial symptoms again with Ubuntu, my problem was Ubuntu wouldn’t run on my SSD as a GPT and I had to reset it as a MBR on a second machine. That worked for me in my case, but I feel like Grasshopper telling his blind master how to walk on rice paper (ask Big Boss).
    Today I retired from a job I loved but through my health problems I knew it was time. I understood every word you said about loving your work and time flying. Enjoy your work, but if I’d understood the work life balance I might never have become disabled in the first place.

    A nice way to keep the screws in is to lose them up, so they would fall out and then put some tape above the hole. That way, you never lose them or get the wrong screw into the wrong hole.
    I do that for years now and when you put it together, your screwdriver just punctures the tape and you can screw it together, remove the tapes and your golden.

Just because of u I manage to fix one of Bose subwoofer 700 which never turn on. Finally I fix it with my own here n there experience 🥸. But I have a passion to do this kind of jobs. But I don’t have any education regarding electronics at all. I did my MBA in management information systems from Pakistan but after 10 years my mind start understanding all type of electronics… I have no idea how it’s possible but I feel I can do this kind of jobs easily but I need guidance like u providing through your excellent videos. I learn a lot … kindly suggest me some short course so I can further excel in this field of electronics. Highly appreciated… thanks in advance.

    As a technical question; how is a normal installation of Ubuntu reprogramming the bios? Sounds like the user may have used an ubuntu that had a virus of some sort.

    • @styxedge9544
      @styxedge9544 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Ubuntu modifies the uefi bios to install its Boot entry. In the early stages of uefi due to mismatches in the specifications / bugs in the uefi implementations Linux could brick the uefi bios of some vendors.
      Nowadays this shouldn't be a problem anymore.

    Hello, love your videos, And am learning alot from watching your youtube videos. You are a soldering god to me. I have learned in my trials , you can make a bootable EUIF drive. you have to perform this as a GRUB drive and not as a MBR drive. Just my 2 cents. But it will see the USB drive once you create using GRUB and not as MBR. You are very talented sir. Keep rocking.

    Alex what is it about this board and chip that made you decide to use low melt? Could it be not disturbing components around the BIOS chip? Your channel is awesome BTW. I recently decided to switch from the automotive repair field to Endoscopy service after 30 years of busted knuckles and dirty hands. Your channel has taught me so much about electronics repair. You inspire me to get into electronics repair on my own. You are very gifted in doing what you do!! My micro soldering has improved very much in the past 2 years. It boots up, but gets stuck with black screen never allowing me to enter BIOS or recovery mode. Before becoming this, I tried to update BIOS via official lenovo updater running on Windows10, but the last stage of updating process, my ideapad suddenly got frozen. Now I desperately need to get the healthy BIOS chip and replace with currupted one. Any info is appreciated.

I fixed mine by deleting all trusted keys, cold resetting the bios ( cmos & batt unplugged, drain power by holding power button for 20 secs ), turn off secure boot and the trick is to hot switch the windows live usb when in bios boot drive selection. Try to use a USB2 port if possible.

      @FelinoFacho it is a compatible chip. Both are 25 VERSION AND 64MB memory type (GIGABYTE 25b64bsig vs winbond 25q64fvsig)

    I think the BIOS was ok just stuck in first-reboot posinstallation
    maybe FIRST try another harddrive with a good GRUB
    or reinstalling the GRUB in the harddrive from another PC
    and sometimes windows leaves the hard drive suspended for fast reboot and gets stuck or you can't access or edit documents in patitions .Desactivate the fast reboot in widows energy manager

    I booted into bios and restored it to default. That seemed to solve my issue. (Ubuntu dual boot).
