Not a bad watch, that tribute, but the price is ridiculously inflated vs. the current steel Fliegerchronograph. You will never have me believe that the case material alone justifies 100% price increase.
In a healthy marriage, consultation should be sought before any major purchase, especially among the non-wealthy classes. That goes both ways. I spent $30K on a watch a month ago, but I spoke with the wife about it first. I think she respected the fact I discussed it with her first even though I probably would’ve bought it regardless.
He didn’t say „I’d have to consult my wife first“ he said it’s not allowed as though one person makes the final decision. I’ve never understood the „Community Property“ thing. If you have the money for a watch no one needs to be consulted or asked first.
For me, a collection must have at least three watches. A "collection" is defined as "a group of things". A single watch is definitely not a group, two is debatable, for me it's a pair. If you have three or more, you can call it a collection. Callt it a two watch SELECTION.
I would absolutely love to hit a week-long city break in Europe (centered around a Grand Prix event, natch) with Wesley. But I’m biased, lol. Big fan of the Standard_h product line. -- @mattmd_gmt
