Andrew: Flip it. Even with a suit, I don't think it'll fit you. I think that instance of Tank needs a very specific outfit (mostly because of the colour and style of the dial)
A date is functional, I know there are people who prefer it without but for me it has to have a date. The big crown is so you can use it with dive gloves. I don’t mean to be negative but listening to two people talk about dive watches and their practical use when they clearly know nothing about diving seems strange.
Alright, but could have been half the time if Mr. Hast did not ask about future models over and over, which Mr. Schimid clearly cannot unveil. Really seems amatuer of the interviewer to circulate the same question again and again, even though it ends with a dead end.
I enjoy you two together. Thanks for the content. I also have a FP Journe and would put them at the top. Also a big fan of Moser although not all of them.
This was wonderful and inspiring
I know I am late to this but this would be my end game quartz! I have been fascinated by quartz ever since childhood in the seventies. Back then the initial ones were this sort of price as it was cutting edge. The thought that it could absorb shocks, super accurate compared to mechanical and that the only maintenance was a battery change every few years, No expensive servicing that could take weeks. We called it the quartz revolution back then, now it's called the quartz crisis! There are so many two hand mechanical watches that for me would be much better with a quartz movement. The perfect example is the new release of the Piaget Polo 79 which now has a Mechanical movement. It would be much better with a good quality quartz movement I think. There are quite a few other quartz movements from Japan that have the same thing that stops the movement of the hands to go back into power saving mode like this one and I have a Certina that does that from Switzerland. I have the experience of emotion still with quartz, as much if not more than a regular mass made mechanical.
Karma! Pete must be living life with heart, when you do that I always find often right at the last minute the cosmic tumblers all align and whatever it is happens!
Perfect collection🎉
Where is the fire fleece from?
Huge fan
It is so wonderful hearing the praise for quartz. I am 61 so grew up right at the start of the quartz revolution. It was so exciting and the early ones priced so high to be unobtainable for most but in a few short years Timex had them, Sekonda had them and high accuracy watches were democratised . Nowadays I can now purchase the watches I dreamed of as a child for next to no money and in perfect working order, its fantastic and so wonderful to hear Justin and George talk so enthusiastically about them.
Kudoke is an artist and makes incredible timepieces! How can you rate the brand 'Some Hits' when you don't even know it's German and obviously don't have a clue?! Rather disappointing...
Loved this and yourself and Emily as a team, well, Gold dust is the word! Congratulations Emily, it is a true stunning watch. I own the regular yellow gold model and it is beautiful but now looks rather pedestrian in comparison. This will be a watch to have fun with. I can imagine in the warmer months a baby blue or pale pink rubber or Ostrich would look amazing on it!
Thank you for watching! I loved everything about the whole experience, and I can confirm that the 3755 continues to bring me a lot of joy! Keep well!
Surprised by your gronefeld ranking. maybe the aesthetic isn't to your liking but theh have exceptional finishing (not traditional like dufour), a unique identity/style, amazing watchmaking (remontoire, slow reset chronograph hand), a new accessible line like Hajime and Kurono Tokyo, and very strong secondary pricing. Just my two cents from a fanboy!
Interesting, never heard of Byrne..first one on your list!
Drakes Fleece, very nice
Where is Vianney? You even had to mention him when talking about the Louis Erard collabs.
You did mistake Rexhep Rexhepi for Xhevdet Rexhepi! Rexhep Rexhepi is Akrivia!
You can probably add brands like Holthinrichs, James Lamb, Horage, Arcanaut, Laventure, Hodinky Berkus, RGM, JN Shapiro, and Ketelaars to your list.
And how could I forget Furlan Mari?!
Part 3 do include CVDK ❤
A YT watch channel legend in the making
The Serica is likely a bit more versatile, but our money is on the Zodiac for pure, unadulterated fun.
@justin_hast - Was the loud rotor your 4500v?
Really enjoyed both video's. I agree with most of your views. I can't afford an F.P. Journe, but really the brand and the man don't say anything positive to me. At that high price point I feel what Krayon is doing now is way more appealing to me personally. With independents what I feel you buy the person behind the brand, that is why you aren't buying a Patek or a Rolex. In MaX Bussers's terms, you are looking to join a tribe. So I like Laurent Ferrier, Garrick, Kudoke, H Moser and indeed at a lower price point the likes of Studio Underdog and Brew because they make you feel valued as a person and a customer. They also manage to put some soul into their watches that resonates with me in what is an expensive, totally futile, but unfortunately very addictive hobby.
Looking at this list makes me realize how huge the independent watch scene is! So many more names not on that like Farer, Echo/Neutra, Nivada etc
@@turnipdreams so true! Part 3 to come mate ✌🏽🙏🏽
@@justin_hast sweeeeeeeet!!!
Revisit Kudoke in part 3? Great story.
Save your money and buy a vintage Zodiac SSW. Granted, you won’t be able to swim with it, but in terms of cool factor it’s hard to beat (although your Tudor Sub does just that).
Another hit really enjoyed show
David, you’re a wonderful man, thank you
Fun discussion. I'd get a Louis Erard if I didn't already have a Chronoswiss. I think one Regulator is enough......though I may rethink that at some point.
Where would Parmigiani Fleurier slot in for you guys? I have a 36mm Tonda PF 'Sand Grey' and the bracelet is sublime, as is the dial which really comes alive depending on the light!
I’m a huge fan mate!
What a cutie I 🥰😍😘
Great Content
Kudoke is indeed German ! Not Japanese, my sincerest apologies 🙏🏽
Kinda sounds Japanese tbh!
Dufour and R.W. Smith are problematic as they have closed their orderbooks and thus it's expected that they will not do much innovation or hype anymore. Just winding down the last long list of orders in the quality and models they know and have perfected. For me they are the primary "win the day" on the absolute quality and pieces they have made (and still make for the lucky few) when compared to anybody else on the list but do you expect to be suprised anymore, probably not. Auction results continue to be second to none, though. But the list is current situation so I agree that they are not really winning the day anymore. I would've made them their own category :"won the day, hall of fame", retirement section. Although, will be interesting to see how much Danielle Dufour will continue to develop her own style and craftsmanship.
And if there is part 3 and George Daniels that would be perfect third one for the hall of fame and maybe Vianney Halter
These guys are the best at appearing like they know far more than they do.
Thank you 🙏🏽

@@danbar99 I’m a huge 1860 fan! Keep an eye out for part 3 to come mate - thanks for the comment 🙏🏽
think kudoke is german
I don’t even care about these watches but I’m still hooked by watching you two together! Such an amazing dynamic together!
I think Emily had the right point that these seem to be for different people. There are plenty of choices when comparing divers under £2k. I would have preferred to see the comparison between the Zodiac and the more expensive, but similar aesthetic and water resistance of the ML Aikon in white ceramic.
Maybe best you stick to IWC. I don't know anybody who would buy either of these pieces instead of something like a Halios Seaforth or a Baltic Aquascaphe. If you must have a white watch, then get a GLXS5600-7B from G-Shock or a Sistem White from Swatch if you can find one. Happy Holidays!
Thanks Andrew
Great watch
very interesting nice video.
ah very good..
Cheapest on chrono24 is £2.9k. A reasonable price for a watch with a unique design. Tempting.
I’ve owned the Serica Diver 5303 COSC for about 18 months now, and it’s proven to be an outstanding timepiece. While it may not have the summery vibe of the featured Zodiac, it excels as a rugged daily driver and reliable travel companion, thanks to its versatile bezel. I’ve moved away from the original mesh bracelet which, as mentioned, can be tricky to fasten. Instead, I opted for Serica’s rubber sports strap with pin buckle and integrated end links. For the price, I haven’t encountered a watch that matches the Serica Diver 5303 in terms of specifications and performance-it’s truly a standout piece.
Wonderful to hear! It’s a tremendous piece of design. I’m also loving it! Thanks for the comment🙏🏽
Great to see you two collab-ing together more, great chemistry 🙌
Totally agree
Junk Brands. Thx though 🏌🏽♂️🥃
How do you define “junk brands” just curious
@ Brands that useless or little value
@ useless or little value? Are you talking about initial purchase price or retained value?
My Serica sits in my watch box alongside 3 Rolex, 2 Omegas, a Grand Seiko, and a JLC Reverso-so I have a pretty solid reference point for quality watches. Yet, I find myself wearing the Serica often because it’s accurate, reliable, rugged, and looks fantastic. Beyond that, the company is led by passionate individuals taking real financial risks to create something unique and innovative. They deserve respect.
@@Flashman921 exactly. If you like something as a watch enthusiast, nothing is “junk” you can have a varied and diverse collection, not everything had to be a so called “ luxury “ watch. I’ve never subscribed to that.
You will never convince me these aren't brothers
Justin there’s a lot you can get for this price. Do you think this is the best watch in the £5k category as an all rounder? For you at least? I like the design I love the numerals and dimensions seem great. And yes very wearable. But so is a Casio etc. Justified in your opinion? Not a dig a genuine question. To me it feels a bit of baby bell and Ross Ok reading this back to myself I’ve got issues
I can see a carbon example being added to my collection in 2025. Love them all!
Tosser time
Fun video.
