Hi Greg for the past 11 years I have played in a gospel band in church every week and in other venues. All I can say is great lesson and I think you have got it spot on . Thanks
Your amazing you have thought of everything as a teatcher Most people teaching talk way to fast and are not clear You have the patience of a Saint Your whole aura is felt and heard Your are an amazing guy Sharing your talent with others I have only just found you I am 63 and just started bass 5 years ago with absolutely no knowledge of music or bass so everything helps even better when it so clear You are an inspiration Wow 💜🎸🎶💜
Thanks so much Josephine. It helps when I love teaching and being self-taught on the bass, I remember every part of learning! I’m so glad that you are enjoying the lessons and really appreciate your kind words 🙏
Hi, I'm in the process this week of changing websites so a lot of the links are down, but try this one: www.gregsbassshed.com/shop/backing-tracks Hope that helps, Greg
Greg this is such a nice video where you explain it bar by bar. it is a great way to break the song down and later put it all together. I am exited about it. Thanks Greg now i will practice.
Wow what a great a bass line and licks, thank you. When I saw gospel thought I wouldn’t be interested in that. How wrong I was! Found that using a pull-off after the hammer-on in lick 4 also sounds great.
Gospel bass lines are a sort of mixture of funk, RnB, Blues, Pop lines so the concepts are very transferable. You just play more busy in Gospel a lot of the time. Certain good for the chops! Good idea with that pull-off.
Great lesson and licks. I'm taking your reading music boot camp so this will help with my reading as well. I'm picking up the bass again after playing rhythm guitar and blues harp with one band and now bass with the new band.
Great Lawrence, plenty of ‘above the stave’ reading practice with these licks! Blues Harp eh, always wanted to give that a try. Hope you’re getting something out of the reading boot camp and are enjoying your 2 days rest from it?!
Hey Tracy, good to hear from you and I’m glad you like the lesson. I found the same when researching this lesson. There are some really great Gospel lessons out there but they go at some pace!

Thanks Travis. Have a great week.
The link for the backing track purchase says “page not found”. How do I get that backing track?

Thanks a lot Greg. I really like your tuition style.
Glad to hear that Tony!
Greg, all I had to do was listen to maybe 10 seconds of this and know, "I want to play like that!"
Bravo.
Thanks Richard, that’s really kind and I hope you enjoy the lesson.
Great lesson! Thank you!
My pleasure!

Thank you so very much Greg, you truly understand the concept of going slow for us beginners. 👏👏👏
That’s really great to hear, thanks so much 👍
Very good lesson, Greg. I am an intermediate bassist but had developed in interest in gospel but everything that I have seen is for advanced
Hey Tracy, good to hear from you and I’m glad you like the lesson.
I found the same when researching this lesson. There are some really great Gospel lessons out there but they go at some pace!
Fantastic timing. I am just starting a little gospel band from home with some of my community gospel choir attending
Ah great! I’ll have to do more Gospel lessons. There are so many different ‘feels’ within Gospel.
Good luck with the band.
@@GregsBassShed I am enjoying kirk Franklin songs and doing I smile and I wanna be Happy this week
Some good ideals to add to my arsenal ... thank you.
That’s great Paul, happy to help and that’s just what it’s about - building your musical vocabulary.
