    Superman was shown to be such a symbol of hope and power,
    Batman was depicted as a strategic genius and badass leader,
    Wonder Woman was shown as the Amazonian warrior she is,
    The Flash was characterized by his immense speed but grounded by his likable humor and humanity,
    And Cyborg was the heart and soul of this movie. Not broken and not alone.
    Thank you, Zach Snyder.

    Fun fact: almost all of the characters that were cut by Joss Whedon were a person of color/minority, such as the police chief during the heist, Iris, the single mother who’s a waitress, some of the Amazonians like the girl who tried first touching the mother box, Asian scientist at star labs, and many many other roles/ characters who were POC/minorities. 🤔 is it just me or do I see an obvious pattern from Joss Whedon. Thank goodness Zack brought all those characters back

Their interaction where Wonder Woman kneels down to her and asks “are you okay princess” and the girl nods and then asks if she can be like Wonder Woman some day, left me wondering if they just sneakily introduced Donna Troy to the DCEU.

    What I love the most about the Darkseid vs Justice League stare down is that it establishes the real core of Darkseid’s motivations. He loathes Earth. He lost to Earth’s protectors once before, but the League stands as the greatest reminder he was defeated and is a promise that he can be beaten again. That is an insult to Darkseid and he hates them for it. The Anti-Life Equation being on Earth is just a convenience. He’s not going to be like Thanos when the latter came to Earth to collect the final Infinity Stone. Darkseid is going to relish destroying the Justice League because seeing them suffer, seeing them lose, will be one of his great accomplishments.

But this cut just makes the movie as a series of films so much better. I love how each character had to do things so each part would work. A proper team working together. Instead of the first cut where only things went right when Superman was involved. This film worked because you had Batman, Wonderwomen, Cyborg, Flash, Aquaman and Superman all working together to defeat the baddie of the film. Loved this film. I mean he did try to block Ares' attack then ever so slightly moved his head. I think that needs a rewatch

    I have seen so much hate for Zack Snyder over the year, seeing all the love he has been getting for this movie is so touching. I really hope this movie becomes really popular and blows up. I hope this changes how movies are made so that directors get to do what the hell they want without stupid interference from studios. And finally we need long movies to come back again, I am so tired of empty and soulless 2 hours movies that you just notice that lacks a lot of the important character development that is needed for you to truly connect with the story.

    • @Lp-cd5mx
      @Lp-cd5mx 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The hate wasn't Justified ... WB interfered with Snyder's vision after Man of Steel (because critics complained about the ending) ... But if you watch Man of Steel now your realize how good it was compared to B vs S which WB made him make & rush (Synder originally wanted to do a sequel to Man of Steel and have a new Batman solo movie and then have B vs S which would have led to WW, Aquaman, Flash & then JL w/ Cyborg's story) but WB told him go straight to B vs S then JL ruining his original plan because they were so desperate to catch-up to Disney/Marvel 🤦‍♂️

  • @fredneckteddy
    @fredneckteddy 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    You hit the nail on the head kids.....this movie NEEDED to be 4 hours long! Not only that, although I'm only like halfway through your reaction, Cyborg has one big motivating moment. He has nothing left to lose. In the Whedon version, we didn't know that his dad sacrificed himself to superheat the box before Steppenwolf took it. So now that Cyborg doesn't really have a family now, having the Justice League set up immediately makes a lot more sense because there can be someone there at all times.

Batman and Alfred (father and son), Superman and his fathers, mother and eventual wife, Wonder Woman and her mother, Cyborg and his parents, Flash and his father, Aquaman not so much as his film, but his relationship to his people the Atlanteans; Steppenwolf trying to get back into the good graces of his nephew Darkseid. Family.

    I was /am with Jay. I'm not a huge Zack Snyder fan... Like some of his movies... some not. The music's always good but sometimes I can find it a little indulgent. This was a good movie and a lot of it got better because there was actual context to character motivations. This movie felt shorter than the *Joss Whedon Russian family experience* .
    Had this come out just after Wonder Woman as it is... Then Aquaman... then Shazam... The dialogue about the DCEU would have definitely made it more popular.

    When Adam was talking about his question of "what do we do now? Zack Snyder just made the DCEU cool again", I realized something: this is like the blip in the MCU when all the people were un-snapped. They were brought back to a world that is different from the one they left. Those that were left behind have moved on (as in, new movies and such). This movie exists in a world that had JUST STARTED accepting that the DCEU was probably dead or at least in a coma. And now all of a sudden, Snyder-Man (my own invention tm, tm, tm) just plunged a huge syringe of adrenaline in the DCEU and it's running around the room yelling about Darkseid. So yea.......what the hell do we do now?

    Gosh I’m so happy to see your reaction! Couple things:
    (1) I haven’t actually seen the original Justice League...because everything in the everywhere indicated there was no need. But, I was really quite happy with this movie, 4-hour length be damned. Agree that theatre/opera has been doing this for literally centuries now, and...who doesn’t love intermission snacks?
    (2) I do think there was a nice overarching theme here about coming together and needing people, which was done subtly, but (from your commentary) seems not to have been done in the original. I’m thinking of Batman saying he’s trying to have faith (and Alfred saying he needs to get more than 1 teacup, indicating he’s never needed more than one), Flash saying he needs friends, Diana saying to Cyborg that she tried and is still trying to open up and reconnect with people and things Cyborg is, too, and, finally, Cyborg at the end saying that he isn’t broken, and he is *not* alone. Very lovely, very much a coming together of them all. And I like how the scenes at the end being that together, with Bruce and Diana together and Flash and Cyborg actually coming into their own and seeming happy.
    (3) I *really* want you to do a Crowd service vid to discuss specifically the Snyder cut stuff!! There’s just so much to break down. For instance, does the different treatment of the Amazonians and Diana and Cyborg and the awesome Chinese single mom reflect on some way on Whedon? And what about Lois’s pregnancy test?!?
    Anyway, thanks for yet another great reaction from you both. 😊

    What would that story have been?..........
    Zack Snyder: If you go to Dallas, and you go to the AT&T exhibit, it has the entire 40 foot dry-erase board that has a very detailed outline of the next two movies. It was basically the fall of Earth to Darkseid, and then, in the post-apocalyptic world, Flash and Cyborg and Bruce figure out a way to jump Flash back in time to prevent Lois’ death so Superman doesn’t succumb to anti-life. Then the third movie was the uniting of all the forces of Earth to defeat Darkseid. It was a giant, “Lord of the Rings”-style battle movie.
    Speaking of, the hashtag #RestoretheSnyderVerse, referring to this plan, is already starting to circulate on Twitter. What do you think when you see something like that, knowing that now that the fans have successfully convinced Warner Bros. to let you complete this film, they might now start pressuring the studio to let you complete your vision for the full trilogy?........
    Zack Snyder: Yeah, I’m not sure that’s a thing. I think it’s amazing and I love the fans and I love that enthusiasm. Like I said before, the truth is, in retrospect, it’s more likely that they would have made a sequel [to “Justice League”] than going back and redoing a movie that had already been released. But I just think that like this was a Herculean effort for all of us, and Warner Bros., they have their big plan for the DCU, even to the point where they told me - and I’m fine with it - that the theatrical cut of “Justice League” is what they consider canon for their universe. So I’m just like, you know, this little Elseworld experiment. I’m very grateful for the opportunity to finish the movie. But, yeah, I don’t know if there’s anything else in the future.

    Concerning WW84, take into account that that was her in 1984... She was still holding back and staying hidden... She wasn't going to be all out in that... She stayed low key ever since she first lost Steve Trevor in WWI... It was only in the events of BvS, that she started to put herself out there... Remember, she was leaving town and on the plane when Doomsday was first stepping out... And then later on at Clark's funeral, telling Bruce about how she walked away from the world and shut down... So WW and WW84 are valid... It's here in ZSJL that she learns to come back to the world and be part of it...

    You to bring up an Excellent point about why movies don't do enough long flims with intermission inbetween. 1:Binge watching a season of your show is nothing more than long extended flim that people pause to take breaks for. 2: With movie theatres that make their money off consession pricing, Theatre would want more flims like this where people can double on the snacks and other things. Very good point you guys make.
