My favorite scene of the three movies is when this song plays over Amuro psychical contacts everyone to warn them of danger. I think it shows the culmination of his growth and love for the crew of the White Base. Earlier in their adventure he was willing to abandon them but now views them as family
He is willing to abandon them when he thinks he has somewhere he can go, with his mother. He then realizes, as most soldiers do, you can't go home. You aren't the same, and the old life cuts and tears you whenever it can.
the battle of Abaou Qu was only a small part of it. after I saw Thunderbolt and saw how many people when into the OYW i can see why some people call it the bloodiest conflict in all of fiction
@@PainXIII12 one of the best part of Thunderbolt was seeing how actually big was the war. It's like everything that is going on in ms gundam was also happening in many other places
The first time I heard this song was in my ps2 game, mobile suit gundam: earth federation vs zeon, it was played only in 2 stages-> A Baoa Qu space area and inside A Baoa Qu space fortress. ^^ It always brings me tears due to the sadness of the melody, one of my favorite song along with lalah's death song(I don't know the name), char ga kuru, Tobe! Gandamu and Eien ni Amuro. ^^
Same here. I remember being a kid and not understanding what was happening in context of the story and not liking this song. Now I feel nostalgic about it
I think Encounters in Space captured this song the best. I still play both games but there was just something about doing that battle on EiS. The non stop explosions, random Zakus and GMs blowing up left and right while Amuro fights his way around hunting Char
I play that stage and can't hear the song. When I increase the volume, I realize how good the song is... XD (And that is Gundam Journey to Jaburo for me) XD
I agree with some of the statements, such as Ryu's death, and not to mention some of the supporting cast get more development in the series including hints of the relationships of Bright/Mirai and Amuro/Sayla, but the movies tend to give a realistic approach to Gundam by taking out the "enemy of the week" sub-plots and just feels like more an odyssey than a super robot show. Other than that, Tomino's original intention was to have the series as a war story in the vein of Starship Troopers.
I just finished the compilation movies a few weeks ago and have started Zeta. I appreciate how much fat was trimmed, but I intend to go back and watch the full 0079 anime. I want to see more of the character growth and more mobile suits. Especially the fight with the Gyan and more time with Matilda.
Doesn't seem like Bandai-Games is gonna "remake" anything. All they care now is how to milk the Breaker series, GvG series, and all the merchandises (Gunpla mainly). Even Generation series is kinda stagnant (IMO) since Overworld.
the point y gundam(0079) was a ever success is the sophisicated drawing, the content of the growth of an adolesence , the cruelty of war and the tatics from real war. of course the seriousness even in music and songs which was a wonder for a cartoon (animation) . Unlike Macross , which was a science -fi packaged love story which was never as epic as Gundam.
I disagree. Yes to all what you are saying about Gundam, no to all you're saying about SDF-Macross. Macross' stakes was all of Humanity to save themselves from extinction. You can't really compare the two series.

This song plays in the end parts of Gundam Federation vs. Zeon (The pre-decessor to Gundam Vs Zeta Gundam) I have to say the MS-05 Zaku I is my favorite mobile suit of all time.
This brings back so much memories I was in about 4th or 5th grade when I got encounters in space one of the best gundam games ever made 🔥 but this particular song is hits hard Cause you think about your people and all the loved ones you miss as well. Such a beautiful song and passionate Gundam4Ever
ah yes the old music first soldiers of sorrow now encouters in space federation vs zeon had this on at the end i thought it was trashy at first but then again i was six and was into the pokemon theme tune now 10yrs down the line its amazing music can change
Yeah, the first time I heard it was in one of the games and since then I think of the song as one with the battleground it plays in. Despite being the final climatic battle in the war, the song is slow and strangely haunting, as if the very darkness of the fortress was at bear with the upbeat parts of the song where light is slowly overcoming.
I wish I can play this game again. I was too young when I last played it so I didn't understand much of the story, but after watching lots of gameplay and remembering the song's I just want to play it again.... Also I miss playing as Gato
When I watched the trilogy, I'm pretty sure it ended with the song "Beginning" in both the subbed and dubbed versions of the filmed, where as this played during the Battle of A Baoa Qu.
@Luigi84289 Opposite with me. I prefer the pacing in the movies and the atmosphere. its much more hard sci-fi as opposed to the show's gundam hammers and beam tridents and in line with Tomino's vision and the rest of the shows. Most fans are pretty split on the movies/show though. You either love one or hate the other.
