As @dragymotorsports already noted, unfortunately, the 100-200 measurement was invalid, because it started at ~125 kph. So if you compare the 130-200 time (0:44-1:15 = 31 sec) with the of the Clio 172 tested a couple of years ago on this channel, which is lighter and should have 2 more HP (2:43-3:11 = 28 sec) plus given the circumstances that it was 34 degrees (which especially little turbo engines suffers especially from) and the aircon was on, I conclude, that not too many horses have escaped from the little Mito over the years.
I had the same car a few years ago, and i can easily say that this is not even close to a stock Mito QV. There must be some serious issues with the engine. 0-200 should be around 30 seconds.
Sorry I really enjoy this channel and I have been waiting for a mito review as a qv owner myself. And a lot of it and your general view of the car I agree with and love. But two points I disagree with are 1, that it isn’t a “proper hot hatch”. It has an Ediff, adaptive shocks, brembo 4pots and same power as a fiesta st or Mini Cooper s of the time. It’s more kitted out than any of its competitors. And 2, that 0-60 claim of no where near 7.5 is pure bollocks. Unless EU got a slower version somehow, my standard Qv did it in 6.9 on Michelin ps5, and now does 6.1 with a few mods running 220hp 380nm. Brilliant little cars I’ve had 2. Never enjoyed another hatch like it
Less drag in a car with longer body. Superminis are always slower at higher speeds, and hatchbacks (like your giulietta) are slower than sedans for the same reason.
@@TODM4XNL but we are not talking about 400+ kmh speed but 200. And this car drag is not that bad. Its not Land Rover brick like aero. This car have 150hp at most. My 145hp/250Nm car is as fast if not slightly faster.
Incredibly slow for 170 HP and such low weight... my old Astra G is the same weight and has exactly half the HP (Z16SE, 84 hp) and without measuring i'd say it's about the same.
While I agree its Slow for 170hp in a Mito, you are completely fooled by your impression- your car will take around 4 seconds longer only to 100 than the Mito. And top out around 30 km/h earlier

Either the turbo or multiair system has a problem. Because this is slower than the 1.4 155hp tJet version of the MiTo.
I think it was too hot outside to deliver the right performance. 34 °C on the dashboard, too hot for turbocharged engine

yeah, yesterday i had a trip with my 1.4 giulietta 170cv and it was much faster reaching 220, which is crazy cause the mito is even lighter
The Alfa Romeo Mito and Giulietta are my favorite cars ever, its a shame that they are so underrated
I can feel the pain having a 1.2 liter turbo golf mk6 myself hitting 220kph, but it's always fun driving slow cars fast, especially with the top down

I like the idea of testing some desirable but more pedestrian cars. 215 is something lots of people can relate to.

Not a true reflection of the cars performance. As a Mito Qv owner, I can vouch
I've owned two of these and this is about it. They're not hothatches really
