      U prolly have to run bass boost with this unit being very low output

      No not at 100 hz but always start at 80 hz and turn of bass boost to 0 at 12 db your putting distortion already that sub will be fried very soon. JL audio installer technician certified. 🙄🤦🤷

    Cheers guys, another great video. A couple of things that may help you, cut the bass boost out completely, it only adds distortion and clipping to the signal. The amplifier gain should be matched to the output voltage of the head unit, usually 1/2 way or less. The crossover you can play with but I would avoid anything higher than 100hz. Once you have all the other settngs dialled, you can go back and add A LITTLE bass boost(no more than +3cd). Bass boost circuits act like a port in sealed boxes where you can "tune" your sealed box to a specific frequency. Also make sure you have a good ground. It will eliminate the feedback from your ignition. Keep up the great work. BTW I have 2 Skar amps and some speakers, for the money they have decent equipment. I am more than happy with my setup.

      I agree o never use any other amp controls... I keep all of them on 0 and use only as much gain as sounds without distortion using only amp gain under full volume . all receiver controls at 0 as well no loud boost either. no bass boost allowed.

  • @SonyFoLife
    @SonyFoLife ปีที่แล้ว +9

    By the way, the remote knobs don't adjust the bass boost they just reduce the gain. So 100% of the knob is whatever the gain setting is on the amplifier, 50% is 50% of your gain setting, etc

  • @NorthFloridaAirGunner
    @NorthFloridaAirGunner ปีที่แล้ว +9

    Those are made for under the seat. It's not going to do much out like that. That's not a bass boost control, it's a remote gain control.
