The PA Gothic is a decent sub as long as it's used within it's capabilities, the 2.5" coil is enough of a clue for someone that knowledgeable with car audio, typically there good for 6-700wrms tops, if used in that wattage range you will get good service for years, also it's a smaller sized motor and coil with a light suspension so it doesn't need much wattage to get loud. You are right A 600 to 800w amp for 1 and 2 a 1000 to 1200w amp will push it just fine enough to get good thump in any vehicle and typically with a lower power sub your best off with 2 that would give you really respectful bump. A lot of people would be surprised how loud you can get on a true 1200w amp. My son has my old system which is 2 XR15s on a pioneer gm1200.1 and he's well into the 140dbs on music in a Tahoe, it's not as much as my system but that 40s is decent bump. The Gothics and mofos are actually pretty good. They will absolutely take 1200w, you have to understand how an amp works with music frequencies. So in that demo your amp and that sub would play in the 2-7ohm range, it mighta seen 2k at a given point but prob averaged 500-1000watts. You could run two of those off that bass 3K an bump it.
