Hi Brother, your videos are too good. But I disagree with point 5. Promotions are very slow in most of the companies. You can't become a chief officer or captain just with experience and by clearing exams. It solely depends on the company's decision.

I agree with you, but that is the case with big companies. There are so many small companies ready to give you promotion if you got the superior ticket. So I think it is totally depends on you whether you want fast promotion (you can't enjoy all facilities provided like big companies) or slow one (you can enjoy all the benefits). The true sailors are the 60s,70s and 80s sailors.No Gps ,satellite,advanced Radars, hand steering, chart work communication with home, numerous working gears, no air conditioning (50s) built ship, steam ships, position fixing by sight work (sextant) and many more.
Today with advance technology vessel, marine accidents are more compared to 60 ,70 and 80s, because today seamanship instinct is less.70,80 and 90 had highest number of vessel due development of oil exporting countries , huge tankers and many tanker companies,need to go around South Africa .This what my uncle who was a seafarer said to me. Is it true ?.?🤔
